We both changed out names. I got rid of the name i got from my grandfather because fuck that guy and took my grandmothers maiden name. Then me an my husband hyphenated both our names. The only reason i changed is because i refuse to have anything to do with my grandfather.

I dont fully agree. Yes those ARE common but honestly ive had a great time. My husband is in the air force presently and we live on base. I dont participate in any military anything. Someone has to be open and willing to change. The first step is realizing and admitting that there is an issue. If someone cant do that then things will never stick. Im about to be married this saturday. We have been together for a year. NOW. I do know that isnt a long time, however we had been talking about it since about 6 months in. BAHAHA this is so true. My SO is in the airforce and the amount of "couples" ive met that got married after knowing each other for 3 weeks. Technically we met on Reddit? Technically??? I was running a Dungeons and Dragons campaign with my friend and we were looking for players. One of my favorite things is that we met through a mutual hobby. We were able to skip the awkward first dates as well since we were already pretty close.
