I appreciate you posting this. I wanted to ask you about caffeine. I have ADHD and take generic ritalin for it. I haven't used this all my life, but I have not gotten into the habit of drinking coffee. I do drink a lot of tea, however I find myself very sensitive to caffeine. Meaning when I drink it I cannot sit still anymore and I work at a desk job programming. I also find when I drink caffeine and play video games I'm quicker to getting angry/frustrated. I do drink it when I'm doing errands a…

30, about to be 31. 5'10 and some change (I just lie and say 6' since I'm always wearing shoes). 230 down from 270. I'll ask the question first and give some detail: How do I get a sense of style in both my facial hair and clothes? I don't look awful but I don't have a sense of style for either. How do I start from 0 on this and go forward? Specifically regarding facial hair, how do I learn to make it work for me? I am hoping to find thorough details on this as I am fearful that trying a style a…

So you're saying I'm fucked unless I drop weight?

Is what I currently have not a beard? Does it need to grow out more?

Great feed back, I appreciate it. I took this picture and posted it without thought of how much people would focus on clothes vs. hair. I definitely can dress better then what you saw, though I need to figure out fitting better. And yeah, the fat needs to go. 45 down, 25 more till 200. I'll re-evaluate after that.

Fair enough, that makes sense.

The clothes make it seem that way? Keep in mind I work from home and decided to dress like shit for comfort and low cost of laundry.

Will do, thanks!

Not the first time I've heard that. I did shave today down to a 1 and I like it. First response from my brother said I looked angry. If you're interested I can send the after picture.

Not sure how you're using butt hurt. I'm actually accepting that it's a possibility like I've never lifted and if that's true I'm glad to know it now so it's something I can change. You are right though, I did nothing to make my clothes look better. I've lost like 40 pounds and those clothes are shit clothes that've I had forever that I wear when at home so I don't need to do as much laundry.

At times I have low self confidence, but I was unconvinced that I looked like dog shit. I'm always open for criticism, but I've seen dog shit. Men at the very lowest point in their life and I do not look like that. I have no plans to date some super model, but I'm definitely not shit out of luck. But again, I'm open to honest opinion. Friends and family always try to save feelings so I'm glad to read any response that contradicts what I've constantly been told. So this actually helps with my per…

Alright, I'll bite. What specific features make me come off looking like "dog shit"? I've worked in jails, I've seen bottom of the barrel men. Based on that, I disagree, but I want to get the details as I'm always open to listening.

Damn, that sucks. Because that's definitely not true. Last year I was doing the 5x5 program consistently and was up to 335 in squat 5x5.

Thanks. Is that generally what you'd say to anyone in my position? The reason I ask is because this is the first time I'm getting valuable feedback on looks from people who aren't friends/family trying to save my feelings. I have no idea where I fall on the scale of attractiveness. As far as looks, outside if being fat I've consider myself a 6 or 7 but I'm real bad as self reflection for this.

Hopefully those will become more distinct as I lose more weight.

I can see some of it also. How fat do I look? Meaning is it enough to be a big turn off?

What specifically inspires you to mention my mentality, I'm curious.

Thanks! This is after already losing 40 pounds. Trying to get to 200 and you're right, my facial features will be even more distinct. Thank you and to everyone that's answered, I've upvoted everyone that has.

Do try to grow a beard I definitely don't have a full out beard right now, but you don't consider the current facial hair a beard? I'm asking, not countering in defense.

Thank you for the advice. To be honest I'm excited to shave it, I love the feeling and don't give a crap what others think because I feel good. As I've been reading over and over, there seems to be a mix in terminology so I'm looking for clarification. Should I go full bald or just shave it short, like 1/8 (Number 1 on razor guard)?

So should I go super short, like 1/8 (1) or bald?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
