In the USA, criminals can haggle with the prosecution. Trade incriminating evidence against co-conspirators or other criminals about whom they have evidence. They do this in return for being charged for less severe offenses/fewer offenses/dropped offenses.

It's not about it being a woman, but about upholding the principle of rule of law, and in this case the law says she is a citizen. If people in power are allowed to ignore laws they don't like it undermines all laws and starts to unravel the fabric that holds a nation and its people together.

He even makes up academic titles for himself when discussing such other topics to make the average viewer/listener believe that he is an expert on the subject.
