Thats a fair point, what I'm trying to get across is that the thing they are saying is bad is the very thing they are perpetuating.

I wouldn't use the phrase either but I think they mean "toxic gender expectations" by it so I'm just speaking their own language

I don't like it either to be honest, just trying to speak their language since its usually the same people.

That's a good explanation, I'm definitely against those things

Men have an issue with alot of gender expectations too, if we tried to listen and understand each there would be alot of common ground rather than making each other the enemy and reinforcing that devide with devisive language

That's amazing, I'm glad it's been a positive experience for you! Friends are definitely really important. What is the difference you've noticed in being emotionally vulnerable in public?

Or when talking about "unfair beauty standards" if we called it "vain femininity"

I wouldn't call them stupid for using the term but I think most defenses of it lacks logical consistency

Women and men can both be toxic but I'm saying we shouldn't have a term which polarises based on gender. Being a man isn't inherently toxic just like being a women isn't inherently toxic.

This is how it comes across so at least your being honest. My question then is why not pick a term which doesn't push men away and encourages them to be on the same team?

And if you feel like you need to live up these expectations which you've literally been conditioned to believe make you a man you are called "fragile"

Its already the reason behind suicide and homelessness but lack of space and acceptance for male emotions

Yeah I would be interested to hear form a trans man about sexism which he only become exposed to after transitioning

I don't think being trans is about wanting to be on the side of the fence with more benefits. Its about how they feel and identify. It almost always makes things harder for someone who transitions either way because of all the stigma.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
