It’s not that the song itself was depowering. But maybe if instead of WAP, the song was called “Let’s organize to participate in politics, to protect our rights”, it would have actually been empowering. As it stands now, I don’t think the song actually empowered women, as it’s reputation would have you believe.

But what about that song, WAP? Or some records from Blackpink? Or characters like Rey from Starwars, or Captain Marvel? I thought those were meant to empower women. But women have only lost power. Women have been so busy fighting meaningless battles, like stopping JK Rowling and Elon Musk. Or calling out guys for being niceguys. They should have had their priorities in order. Stop turning allies to enemies if you already have so many enemies.
