I didn't take that comment as a slam against the people behind the study. Rather it's just pointing out that even 5.4% is very likely not the "real" pay gap attributable to discrimination.

No. The study itself describes this remaining pay gap as "unexplained". That just means it's due to either discrimination or some other difficult to measure factors, such as personality differences (eg. not asking for raises as much). Unless you're proposing that there are no such factors whatsoever, then you must accept that the gap can be further "reduced".

I tend to believe rape accusers That's fine. You're entitled to your opinions and beliefs. It's just important that you realize that the law is of the opposite disposition. "Innocent until proven guilty" literally means that courts tend to believe defendants are innocent. And not just 50/50, but they believe he is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. That's more like 99/1. So maybe we should not make fun of the accusers until they are proven not true. I agree.
