This is the male version of nagging. He needs to chill.

Tech thing - he may want to use his guy for reasons he doesn't feel like explaining. Maybe his work wants him to use that guy, maybe there's a political situation at work and this guy is a key factor, maybe the guy just has a better attitude than you when he's helping him. The fact you think it's "any male and not me" is some blue pill thinking. You don't trust him - you only trust your own judgment. You say you're building him up in regards to sports, yet every sentence you mention how much "be…

a willingness to make decisions and take responsibility for them goes a long way, even if you're not the best at something or the best at anything. that's the thing people hate doing the most in my experience

There are plenty of kings who have charged into battle who weren't the best fighters. Yet, their followers defended them. Their willingness to fight made them worthy to be followed That, and I suspect they were not the kind of kings who were tyrants, robber-barons, sadists or uncharitable. You do not have to be good at everything. But you have to be good, wise, and willing to your people.

1) You haven't communicated to him that this event is the "final straw". This is a timeline that's in your head. What if he has something planned afterward? 2) Setting up the expectation to be proposed to on a certain day ruins the surprise. Then it's your proposal, not his. Why not propose to him on that day if you're the one calling the shots? Backing him into a corner to tell you a proposal is coming in Spring means you're already yanking the control out of his hands, which is a great way to …

My personal opinion is this is maybe a test in patience/pride the Lord is letting him experience. It is not the child's fault -- nor anyone's fault what the child's sex is. It is what it is, and accepting it is the only way forward. Maybe it means you were meant to have one more :).

Stats - 28, Single, Unemployed (recent graduate), 22-24% BF, 168 lbs. Realization while writing this: I need a freaking job. Unemployment plus quarantine brought out the worst in me. Tested 1 RM's - SQ 135; DL n/a (back problems, need to find an alternative work out, or weight for lats and delts to get stronger); BP 75; Custom program my friend made. Discipleship 5/10 - I'm the only Christian in my friend group. I try to sneak in some theological notes in our casual conversation but everyone is …

My ex never let me drive her. I felt so silly about how mad/defeated it made me, but your post helped me learn something about myself. Thank you!

Man, I used to do this as a kid and as a teenager. I have three older sisters and they were always fighting and I stepped in like this to stop it all the time. I don't know what happened to me later in life, I cared more about being peacemaker than problem solver, more caring about relieving tension and stress from myself rather than doing the right thing. Thank you for taking the time to write this out, I got to revision myself living my old natural confidence. EDIT: Grammar

So far your only criticism that he was homosexual and megalomaniac. You have not made any other substantial points. What other point was I supposed to infer? You know exactly what you're doing and I'm done replying to you.

If you're going to use modern morals to judge historical figures, particular figures born before Christ, you're going to have a miserable time. Leading an army and a kingdom takes work. Even if they aren't humble, a selfish leader, particularly in those times, would not last long. Phillip the II took a tribe of shepherds who were pillaged regularly by he surrounding barbarians (whom they conquered) and turned them into a modern civilization. Alexander expanded that kingdom even further through r…

That makes complete sense, and I am putting a pretty specific colored glasses on here. It's more a personal reflection, hopefully inspiring, rather than an argument.

If the only historical or personal lessons you take from Alexander the Great are "he was a homosexual megalomaniac", you need to work on yourself. The way you're attempting to give feedback is unnecessary.

I appreciate that. This post is about the leadership of kings. I suppose I was operating from the assumed premise that Alexander the Great was already an inspiring figure for conquering half the known world. Perhaps that is just my own personal view. Thank you for the way you worded your feedback.

This is about two Kings and their armies, how they led, what qualities it takes to lead, and how much they accomplished. You're going out of your way to interpret this uncharitably.

Listing Alexander's sins wouldnt have been pertinent. I am not saying Alexander is like Christ. I am saying look at how much Alexander achieved, and the way he did it - now realize our Lord did even greater things, and in a more perfect way. There's lessons to be gained from both.

He still couldn't defeat death ;). Oddly enough, he died of a strange illness that came on when he stopped fighting and returned home to rule. Dead within a year. I think he was just meant for the battlefield.

He was not humble, but a selfish leader doesn't charge in the front lines of battle and take over night patrols for his troops. A selfish person doesn't practice the self denial that reasoning and discipline take. He may have been an egoist and narcissist, but he did not lead selfishly.

They are probably just seeking friendships, man. They aren't there to date, so they aren't looking for dating material. Or maybe those betas aren't beta and you're being really judgmental. This post does not reek of a strong frame.

You should workout so that you are fit enough to do whatever God calls you to do. If He places someone near you that is so hurt they need to be carried, or you need to help to help your friend move into their new place, or to have the ability to defend your family/home. It also shows that you are treating your body as a gift.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
