I always work under the assumption that everyone only works in their (enlightened or not) self-interest, like sex and are opportunistic. True and not true. Betas are opportunistic by trying to appear altruistic. During the caveman days it gave them plausible deniability so alpha wouldn't automatically kill them.

Heh, I've seen something like that, a skinny nerd in a suit trying to do magic tricks in front of the trashiest bar in town. Needless to say it looked pathetic. To be fair, the serbian guy must've had a shitty frame if he really wanted to beat up a guy and got sidetracked by a magic trick. That, or Mystery got the crowd behind him.
