No, THEY made all the payments. Marriage is a union of all earnings, which is part of why alminony is a thing: "they" are bith used to a quality of life that should be maintained for both as much as possible. Need to shift your thinking to understand where things are unfair and HOW it will impact your son.

Are you someone to be respected? Problem with this is that it sets men up with the expectation of men to be perfect superheroes. This leads invariably to resentment because no one is perfect to that standard. If a man has to work on his failings, sure, of course. But being a perfect slave to a woman's whims is not a healthy existence either
