Walk in with the mentality that you're not necessarily there to meet girls but to have a good time, which could include meeting girls. This way it takes off the pressure you put on yourself for "closing" and if you're having fun, girls can tell. Stop over thinking things man. I think for you pick up seems like too much of a science. When I started I was following way too many rules and because I was following rules I got boring. First off, if you're courting a lady you have to put her on the pedestal. I think that's how you make it obvious you want a serious relationship. I wouldn't say that's necessarily true. At first yeah that's why I got into into pick up but then I realized that I was very shallow for doing so. Act your age, seriously. Don't worry about age, just be you. If you don't make a big deal of it, if you don't bring it up in conversation, they won't either. This might sound very conceited, childish, and just really dumb but I love running game whilst the homies are watching. I tell them to "watch and learn" and if I succeed they think I'm cool and treat me as a hero! However if I get rejected (and it's happened in front of friends before), I play it off like "she wasn't that nice anyway". It also makes for a funny story later.

In approaching girls and even just doing gutty-er things, I do what I call 'Go Mode'. I count to three in my mind (or even say it aloud), then I say Go.
