Women can actually lower their standards. If there was a giant class of perpetually single women out there we’d say that guys, but there just isn’t.

First it's not unlikely at all to meet no one's threshold in your social circle. From there you are stuck with online dating or randomly throwing yourself at strangers where the bar gets so high that the majority of men won't meet it. Hetero Cis-Women don't have this experience by and large unless they find themselves single in late middle age and find it baffling, but just trust me it very much happens. It just is infinitely harder to find a partner as a single man, transwoman, or lesbian. Peop…

OK, but your missing the point. It’s entirely possible to simply not meet anyone’s threshold and then it just doesn’t matter and if that happens to you the assumption is that it’s your character at fault because no one wants to admit that they selected their partner based on looks and then whatever else.

Yes some men are flooded with attention and get to chose and some women feel they don’t have any options because they ignore everyone but that small group of men. Most people settle for good enough and will chose them and build out a loving relationship from there. Some men get never find anyone who slotted them into the attractive pool and many of them end up giving up. Some women never get out of chasing the most attractive men and end up alone as the options dwindle as the surplus men opt out …

First, that objectively terrible people are in relationships is not a recommendation, it’s to illustrate that who gets chosen is partly randomized. You can be wonderful and completely unwanted by random chance if you are a straight man, trans, queer, ect. Straight cis women generally don’t experience this until late in life. Anyway that you to make up an army of desperate single mothers throwing themselves at us [they might have different standards or a harder time getting out there because of c…

Now we get to wait around for maybe someone to pick you from a functionally infinite list to be maybe be allowed a few minutes of texting. Is that really a better system?

Many men do not have choice. ‘Stop sucking so much’ is not a choice. “Self improvement” is mostly a coping mechanism, plenty of objectively terrible people are in relationships. Plenty of perfectly normal men (or at least starting normal until a decade plus of reaction has fucked them up} get. The women complaining that they can’t find good men are comparatively immensely privileged, they had the opportunity to decide not to be in a relationship. It may not have been a hard choice, but having ag…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
