That's exactly it really. I was hoping for a Corbyn win despite his pandering to the woke crowd because, as you mentioned, he really did represent an opportunity for something resembling the Old Left to wield power. But after the PLP and bureaucracy did everything they could to fuck him over, I can't see why Labour deserves my vote anymore. The fact that its filled with histrionic narcissists like Jess Phillips makes it that much more unpalatable to me.

Every news story I see is only concerned with whether women "feel" safe, not whether they objectively are safe. It drives me up the wall that the issue is being framed in that way. It's the political equivalent of a girlfriend getting mad at you for cheating on her in a dream.

The UK has a tiny murder rate and the vast majority of victims are male. For most people it is irrational to worry about being murdered. A man who blubbered about his fear of being murdered would be rightly mocked for his cowardice. We shouldn't be indulging the delusions of the most weak minded and neurotic.

To start with, "free enterprise" is a euphemism for free market capitalism, which is obviously incompatible with any genuinely left-wing project. If you can't recognise that then you're either arguing in bad faith or politically ignorant. It's reasonable to infer something about a person's politics based on the people and organizations with whom they associated. If someone works for an Islamic advocacy group they're unlikely to hate Muslims; similarly if someone works for multiple far-right political organizations, it's unlikely that they're on the left.

I don't have a huge amount to say on this case. Ultimately the daughter committed suicide as a result of the prosecution going ahead.
