In my opinion, it is largely because there are so many women in America today who, either knowingly or unknowingly, have a feminist mind. I get what the author is getting at, but finances are also a huge deal. Families with unstable incomes can also have a large effect (also, debt). Both of which increased in recent years with the economic downturn. It's just a strong opinion that's assuming an association exists because of how they feel. x/post from TD.

That's not what I was getting at. These are young males that had an authority figure have sex with them. There would have been plenty of outrage from a 25 year old male teacher having sex with a 16 year old, because it's a FUCKING authority figure fucking a student. And yes, it's against the law in the states. Agreed. You can't force a woman to carry a pregnancy to full term then accept the child as yours. I'm for men having a say after the childs birth as to if the man can raise the child. The adoption cases where then man has no say are insane.

By preaching to the choir, do you mean to men? The movie got me more interested in men's issues as they used to not be so apparent to me. And even when they were, some of my feminist friends were always dismissive towards me when I brought up male mutilation and compared it to how it was just as unjust to female mutilation.

I never thought like this before. Women did lack rights before, but now instead of having equal rights, their rights have began to exceed those of men to the point where men lack the ability to spend time with the children they love, forced conscription, and less birth control ability. I am entirely against removing women's rights and just want these rights to be given to men equally. But it will take many many years to solve these issues.
