Interesting...I doubt it, and really don't care. Hell, I'd feel sorry for a dude who had to stoop that low, but something to consider.

Expanded means that the day I answered their initial allowed ask of 10 documents requests, 10 interrogatories, and 10 admissions, they sent a motion for an additional 10 of each. They also get to ask for expert witnesses, depositions, and so on. We aren't rich, but she wants to fight over every little bit we have. I did look at the objections then, but still answered everything. I don't understand lawyer's reasoning, but at the time I was running on a shoestring budget. I'm going to push back th…

I was too cooperative initially. Going forward though...

you = me except the cheater part. The judge at temporary orders maxed out my income, minimized hers, and cut my expenses in half. According to her, I have money left over. No legal fees, no alimony, and my ex is denying me parent time, so I expect to be paying child support soon. Careful what you think you are going to get.

Probably true, and hope I can reach that level of acceptance one day.

Hah. Nothing. I'm a prude, normal family guy. Loved my kids, dedicated to my family, wrote checks and went to work. I might have sat next to you at the school play. The entire process of this divorce is to rewrite the marriage so that I am awful, and discovery has been rooting around to find things to make into shit. My ex and her lawyer have exhibited considerable skill in taking loving, caring acts and framing them to make them into a sign of sickness, neglect, whatever they can use. It comes …

I didn't want to go into details--and we're not there yet--but I expect to see how bad it can get. My choice to decide whether I go there first, or whether I try for the high road and end up getting hit by her new low. TY for your insights.

Respect. I'll let my anger pass and see where I land. I think my spend dealing with her bs is greater than her spend, and keep thinking that as long as I let that happen she's going to do it. In court the judge hasn't valued honor or honesty, she's beat me down over dumb stuff (think an accounting error that we discussed for long enough that our lawyer's time was greater), and she's overlooked everything from my ex and literally taken her word without evidence. I tried the high road man, I tried…

This gives me something to think about. But for example, she asked for records dating back 5 years for an account that she was the primary account holder for, so I had to hunt for those statements. I thought I could just file an objection. Lawyer did review and revise all the answers I gave.

Bro, my come to Jesus moment was months and tens of thousands of dollars and crying kids ago, pleading with her to make this easy on us all. I did all that, and more. She's taken all I've offered, then given me the finger in return. My way was to work out our divorce at the kitchen table and take it to a lawyer. Her way was a fake restraining order, and I was stupid enough to keep coming back even after that. This is a total misuse of money, life, and our children's spirits, but I tried the carr…

So first, the judge has been up my ass repeatedly. I don't want to get into it, but it certainly has the feel that SHE has decided how I'm going thru this system. As for bad look, I haven't filed anything but the initial petition and defense to every filing from my ex. We literally have a 3+ foot high stack going, all initiated by her. High road isn't working for me I don't think. I am also the low earner (aka deadbeat in the eyes of the court so far). She is not paying my legal fees. I don't wa…

That is good information. Any chance it's jurisdiction-specific, because every item had an objection, but I filed an answer. I expect my ex will do the same, and if she does this, I'm going to have a talk with my lawyer. TY.

Thanks. It's not my way but I'm tired of being dragged around. Can you elaborate some on wasting of the marital estate? No infidelity involved that I know of, but what else might be covered?

Yeah, I have a lawyer. We filed objections but he told me to answer anyway anything I could. Reasonable me has given her one chance after another. We have some questions that matter, but we won't use all of our allowed questions, so why spare her? The texts are good, and will bounce back all her questions to her too.

Guys tend to want to not say anything and take the high road. Which normally I’m all about. But when you know she is going to lie, you have to think different tactics. I had to figure this out the hard way. Typical beta simp. Hire a dude to date her. Keep her busy and then he ghost her… lol. Idk She's gross. It would be really expensive.

I can't get into specifics. They can ask anything. Your lawyer can object, but that means little. One of the worst parts was that the volume of information they asked for was completely unnecessary and costly, clearly meant to intimidate since we have equal access to almost all of it.

Nothing's coming to mind. Maybe some things the kids have said, but that's a stretch. Some things friends said, but at best it could be used to challenge her credibility, but those matters aren't something that the court would care about.

The court applies few limits. Almost anything can be considered relevant in discovery.
