That’s good man. I think you’re pretty similar to me in that nerves can often get the best of you as you ruminate within to yourself about what the right or wrong thing to say is in any given interaction—this is a recipe to failure, since you can never simply be genuine, present, and open with another person due to being inside your head attempting to come up with the best things to say in order to be liked. It’s important then to figure out a way to be comfortable & open with others, particular…

Ask her to get an IUD instead, find a way to verify that she got it. I think that should do it for you. I suppose she could secretly then get it removed, though...

I am pretty much the same way as you man-serious approach anxiety. I think given your personality, you should try to break the problem down into smaller chunks—try to learn to have short conversations with girls behind the counter at stores; while they’re doing their job, ask them some small talk questions: “Been busy today for you?” or “How’s your day been so far?” —basically insignificant albeit personable little questions that the girl behind the counter can either respond to with a single, c…

One thing I've noticed that helps me to be more confident is to speak at the deepest vocal register I can (without exaggerating it too much, obviously). Eventually, I'm able to maintain that deeper voice, and I've noticed it has an affect on me as well as other people; I feel more authoritative, more manly, more in control, more tonal neutrality/less supplication in tone, and I think others sense this as well, along with taking me a bit more seriously due to that deep register. I've had customer…

Sounds reasonable. Any advice on getting past the initial small-talk, i.e. after introductions have happened? I’m not opposed to proactively asking about specific things like appearance or something related to what they’re doing/how they look, but I just struggle to establish rapport/connection & get comfortable with them, especially if I’m hoping to get laid—it’s hard to stay present & open when I have that expectation in my mind to present myself well in the hopes that I impress.

This is definitely helpful—I have a customer service-related job. I’ve gotten better at talking to people through this job, for sure. However, it’s all very shallow conversation—the people coming through aren’t there to hang out indefinitely. I suppose I could intentionally try to bridge the gap from the shallow level of conversation between employee & customer by making an observation about them and trying to deepen rapport just to experiment and see if I can’t build skill that way, but again—I…

Not sure about a specific movie/tv series, but there are definitely characters that fit trp philosophy/ethos. For example, Han Solo in Star Wars is perfectly emblematic in how he pursues and treats Leia in the original trilogy movies.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
