I agree with you about most of what you said, but I didn't try to point out that they were more sexually aggressive: My point was that women in that generation clearly faced problems like this. Hence, I don't think we are to blame if we want ro move away from "the wisdom of that generation". Of course, it is not black and white. In many ways, that generation has a lot of wisdom (for example, they learned to life a more humble life after the wars). But for gender relations, I don't think they are…

Just for clarification: Do you think the grandfather generation was NOT "anachronistic male chauvenists" and "mysogonists"? It is the generation of men that thought it was ok to slap a waitress' ass when she walks by. My grandmother (who is no 96) was a teacher her whole life, which was highly unusual for the generation she was born in. She worked almost exclusively with men during her early career, and it sounded horrifying what she had to deal with. So just to clarify: Do you not see any probl…

I'd even go as far as to say that attractiveness is highly subjective. I am convinced that I will never truly understand how the average woman evaluates attractiveness, and often even find myself realizing that I haven't fully understood how that mechanism works for me. From what I understand form talking to my GF, attractiveness works way less visual for her and other women (not all of course). She told me she likes that I radiate a sort of emotional stability if that makes sense? Physical attr…

It worked for me, and worked for most of my friends. I am not particularly good looking. I think being a physically attractiv man only helps to spark the interest of a woman, but willnot help you much to build a relationship. In my case, I shared a hobby with a girl that was clearly out of my league looks-wise, and through that, she seemed to learn to appreciate my good qualities. Asking her out to a date and forming a relationship was easy, because it was clear that I meant a lot to her. We've …

I would be interested to see the study about inhereting political beliefs, because I suspect it is just a study based on modern housholds. But does it consider the possibility of larger events also shaping the opinion of people? A war, a pandemic etc. etc.? If what you predict happens, and liberal women shrink in population size because they have no kids, then the hypothetical conservative women of the future might shape their opinions based on extraordinary events too. Maybe it is enough if abo…

I would dissagree with point 4. Or rather specify it a bit more: A passion is only interesting if you actually DO something in that hobby. Watching Netflix or playing League of Legends does not make someone interesting, same as all hobbies that are just about consuming something cool that someone welse made.

Where are you gettinh this from? I did not say that women are perfect, or cannot be blamed in any way? I know that their behaviour contributes to the toxic dating scene as well. I know that men can be SA'd and that's absolutely horrible (sorry to hear that bro, all.the best to you). All I'm saying is that the RP.is hyper focused on issues for which they can blame women, and rarely ever about how toxic male behaviour makes dating hard for them. I've dated absolutely horrible women (similar to.wha…

I fully believe that this is true in your version of the red pill, but that's what I meant: There is no larger consensus in the community, and just having spent a long time in this sub, I know for a fact that red pillers have a very strong preference towards talking points that blame women. Do you deny that? Scroll through this sub, filter by red pill posts and see for yourself. This is 100% the "this is not the red pill" deflection I mentioned earlier. I don't deny that the red pill has a big c…

Again, I can't stress it enough, I am not arguing about hypergamy. my point is that the RP has a bias towards blaming the women for the broken dating market. A bias manifests if you only look at data that proves your point. As I explained earlier, the red pill loves to talk about hypergamy, but I rarely ever see anybody talk about things that men do, which makes dating so bad nowadays. I used hypergamy (which is 100% a popular talking point among red pillers, demonstrated by just now by how quic…

I think you are missing the point. You asked me where the red pill is selective and biased, and I answered that by saying it is biased towards blaming women for the broken dating market. I prefaced my answer to you like this to avoid just dismissing my claim, because "that's not the true red pill." I am not here to counter a point. I am making one. If you wanna argue red pill points, we can do that, but that's besides the point of this debate. If you want me to tailor my answer to your version o…

Here we are at another problem: People have a vastly different understanding or definition of what the red pill actually means. If I argue against any red pill claim, my experience tells me that a typicall dismissal of point would be "well that's not actually.what the red pill says." The red pill is not a completely unified and consensus-based idiology. That being said, feel free to list a couple red pill points. Otherwise, I will base my answer to your question based on what I see people who id…

I have a sister, a mother and a girlfriend, and just listening to the stories they tell from when they dated or went out was horrifying. Sure, it is probably easier getting laid or even getting attention from men. But women face a much higher risk in terms of general safety during dates with strangers (SA is a thing, some men out there are pigs). Men also seem to expect sex a lot more, which makes it harder to identify whether a guy is actually interested in you as a person, or if he just wants …

What convinced me that the Red Pill is nothing more than a cope mechanism for unhappy men is the very idea of the metaphor where it gets its name from. The red pill (from the matrix) represents the harsh, unpleasant truth, while the blue pill represents living a live in a pleasant lie. This sentiment leads to red pillers treating their ideology in a way that makes it an unfalsifiable claim, because if someone or something dissagrees with their world view, it can be quickly dismissed as a blue pi…

That's basically an unfallsifiable claim. Imagine both cases: The RP getting censored heavily, and the Rp being accepted as the truth in public. In both cases, you'd be convinced the RP is the truth, either because "they censor it, so it mus be true" or because everyone agrees with you. The reason it is censored so heavily is likely because it is linked to mass shootings (many of those a-holes wrote manifestos mentioning the black pill), and because it quickly spirals into an ideology that treat…

You have 100% control over the words you type and utter. Nobody forces you to be a dick. I also don't think you are in a position to lecture anybody "how life works". I've known plenty of people who were arrogant pricks, have reflected, changed and are now among my very best friends. Based on the comments from people and your responses to them, you 100% need to work on your attitude. Every comment here was written with good intentions, yet you responded in a very hostile way. If you can't recognize that, reflect that you were being a dick, it will be tricky to form a connection to a potential partner. So I am not gonna say "You're still young" or anything like that, I'm gonna say "Reflect on your manners". I think whatever is keeping you from being romantically happy is a pr…

This is something that each couple should decide on their own, but in a healthy relationship it is never a problem. The man can't really change his feelings if he gets jealous, and the woman can't change what clothes feel comfortable to her, but both can have an attitude to work together to find a solution that is ok for both of them. I personally have faith in my GF and therefore don't care if she looks too attractive, but I expressed to her in the past that "knowing another man desires her" is…

Did this aproach work for you in a longterm relationship? I don't think it's a good idea to overly analyze situations like that and treat a relationship like a strategy game. Why would you want to "establish moral and ethical superiority" over someone you love?

I can only speculate, but I think your observation is correct. I am under the impression that they just struggle to find a way to happiness. They seem to be deeply unhappy men, using the convenient excuse that it.is actually the system that is wrong, and that life would be so easy if they just were rich and good looking etc.

There are things that you can't use reasonable arguments for, particularly if you touch a subjects in which subjectiv feelings are involved. "Green is more similar to blue than yellow", "An hour spent waiting in the queue to the toilets is longer than an hour in an amusement park" and things like that have no reasoning behind it, but somehow still feel true. Maybe some people felt the same way about toxicity in men? Maybe it's just an intuition and therefore hard to explain? Not everbody has a m…

That's exactly the point! Once you see the result of the die roll, it collapses into a deterministic state. That is what I tried to say in my post: The red pill crowd can cite statistics about dating all they want, but as soon as you deal.with an individual, you rolled the dice and it's no longer probabilistic. Is that so hard to understand?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/25 12:33 PM

If you rolled a number, there is no reason to model that state in a probabilistic way. Can you make an actual point and not just insult me?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/25 11:41 AM

That's my point, yes. People mostly never critizise their own group, yet alone study it.

Look man I agree with your post and wanted to add the additional "problem" of people never analyzing anD questioning the behaviour of their own group. Do you not agree that this is the trend on this sub? About the statistics thing: Maybe I phrased it poorly, but what I tried to point out is the AWALT-mindset that many red pillers have. That's not how you read a statistic. I mostly see statistics cited based on the average value, but never variance/ standart deviation etc., and then the conclusio…

Who says I don't believe in statistics? I have a math-heavy education and what I say is correct, I think you will agree when I elaborate: As soon as you "check" an individual data point, its state collapses into one of the possible outcomes. To give you an example: If you throw a die, while it is in the air, the "statistics" apply. You know the expected value, the likelyhoods of the outcomes etc. As soon as it lands, it will show you a number from 1-6. There is no probabilistic way of describing…

I would add another thing, which this post is a good example of: The over-fixation on statistics about behaviour of other groups of people. Most posts on this sub deal with topics about what women do and what women don't, and are posted by young men. In this post, it is also the boomers. You almost never see a post by a woman, critizising women. I've never seen a red piller being critical of their own belief ("Are we just falling for grifters? Do statistics apply to an individual?").

I see that your post comes from a place of compassion and understand that you worry about younger generations walking down the same dark path that you have. However I think that even given the same circumstances, they will not draw the same conclusions as you. I can't solve the problem for you, but I have some advice. The red pill, as it is often the case with internet "movements", functions in sort of an echo chamber, meaning that the members will only hear opinions reinforcing their beliefs. A consequence of that is, that they have no platform to let out some steam and built up anger. Hence they are often keen to "debate" and justify their beliefs. I am mentioning this, because I am not sure if openly discussing this will get you there, as all it do…

I don't understand the point of this. I get that being a virgin can be frustrating, but if you would have the option to go to a setting similar to a swinger club and get "pity-f***ed", would that really fulfill you? I'd say it wouldn't give you much more satisfaction than if you hire a prostitute (the only difference being that you don't have to pay her directly?). Sex is a beautiful thing and it is in our nature to crave it. But think about why it is that we crave it. It can't be just for the s…

I think it's not a good idea tbh., because sex is not a "need" as you put it: The need that most young people have taht manifests in sexual desires is not sex itself, but everything it implies. The human connection, validation etc etc. If it's really just the relief you're talking about, then there is already plenty of porn available. But a prostitute, particularly one that is given to you by the state, will never ever be able to replicate the emotions behind "real" sex. If you think this throug…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/25 01:08 PM

Sorry I am not sure I understand your point: Are you saying that men are completely unaffected by the socialmedia / dating apps / porn? Are all men the same? If not, then why do you think they aren't?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/25 09:14 AM

In your opinion, does the same apply to men too? Are men all the same? I think you could make the case that the exposure to porn, and the fact that many young man spend their free time online also messed up an entire generation in the west. I notice a trend that men have poor social skills outside of the comfort of their digital devices. And the expectations around sex have drastically changed. If dating apps and social media corrupted women the way you described (or whatever you think the reaso…

Collectively, bald men as a whole wouldn't be able to to put fourth an equal stand against the collective of the remaining men and women. (Due to them being older on average and being weaker). According to your logic, this implies that the fully-haired population grants the rights to bald people. I try to demonstrate why this "granting rights" based on physical strength is a dumb idea. As I said: We agree to give rights to everyone, no matzer how weak (that includes children and old people), bec…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/25 07:14 AM

You called yourself an ass in your post, and that's probably why you think you are aware of your faults. But what you critisize about your behavoir is simply that you said this to your wife. At the same time, you see this statement of yours about men giving rights to women as an absolutely reasonable observation. Calling yourself an ass doesn't change the fact that you seem to think that women are at the mercy of men. Anyway, I provided an actual argument, do you have anything to say about that?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/25 06:52 AM

The idea behind your argument is essentially the fact that men are physically stronger. If men collectively decided to take away the rights of women and "treat them like objects", this is only possible through overpowering them physically. And that's the fundamental flaw in your logic: While men are on average physically stronger, they aren't stronger their entire life. Even if you are in your prime, mid twenties and absolutely shredded from going to the gym everyday. Even then you will get old …

Yeah but either 30% (or whatever the number for men is) of women are also never married/have no children, or the implication would be that women are more often divorced and not remarried, which would be also a pretty bad life.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/09/25 03:53 PM
9

I never understood the math behind this. If we assume society to be about 50% men and 50% women, and you say that (let's also assume) 30% of men never married etc. Neglecting divorces, that means that 70% of men do marry, and as a consequence of that, 70% of women too. (Neglecting same sex marriage). So where are the remaining 30% of women? Shouldn't this problem affect women the same way as it affects men?

I think one of the fundamental problems of the red pill is the idea of applying statistics and this pseudo science to dating. I understand why they do it: It might boost your confidence, because meeting someone new is always a new world to explore, and therefore it is understandable that you are looking for something like a rule to cling on. However, consider this: Just meet the girl, spend them with her, and think for yourself! What do you want in a relationship? What makes you happy? What are …

That's the thing tho. It is cope if you try to justify what happens using any studies. You, even if you were a hyper giga chad, are unlikely to meet so many women that you can statisticaly reproduce any large scale study. If you had a bad experience, you have no reason to blame it on "we live in a society"-types of reasons. There are literally infinite possible reasons for why you date didn't go right, or why she rejected you. But that's the red pill at its core. People have no understanding of …

The red pill is nothing more but a bad way to cope when you get rejected, cheated on or anything similar. It's mot like women "red-pill" you, as OP says. It is more that life, relationships, dates or even interactions with women can lead to negative emotions afterwards, and the red pill is a convenient excuse to blame the system/society/women in general.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/25 09:40 AM

It's not rocket science, or any science, or logic. I wouldn't even call it a coherent thought. The only thing I agree with here is: Yes, feminism doesn't exist in shithole countries. Go figure.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/25 06:12 AM

Even if one grants to you that under the current system, this is something men do/can do, why would that mean that we have to get rid of feminism? Pointing out one flaw is no basis to throw the entire thing in the trash

I think the short answer is: Don't overthink it too much. To elaborate a bit: Judging from how you write and self-reflect, I assume you are an intelligent young man. And your wits has been a reliable tool throughout your life. However, at some point you have to realize that intelligence is nothing more than that: A tool! Can anybody explain how this rule is supposed to work? What does "get" mean in this context. Sex? Relationships? No matter what the answer is, it doesn't make any sense. You can't "get" a woman in a way that she's "yours" and nobody elses, unless she agrees to be in an exclusive relationshio with you. Does that mean that 20% of men and 80% of women livetogether in a polygamy? How does this work?

This post is a good basis for a demonstration, why this whole "pill" thing is stupid. "You are RP if you reject the reality of the masses". No it's not. Psychology is a science. Humanity has developed powerful statistical tools to find patterns in all kinds of things, including human behaviour. All those comments saying things like "but you didn't have sex" or "he was never interested in you" etc. are simply coming from people that are offended because you challenged their world view. I am convinced that a lot of the RP ideology comes fromt guys thtmat think the applied benefit-providing strategies (to use OP's terms), but they just suck at it. The self declared nice guy, that is in fact not nice at all. OP just dodged a bullet.

Is there any evidence to back this up? This is a classic "I feel strongly about this" post with no substance at all.

What the red pill ironically always negelcts/forgets is that there is no such thing as "the woman": No matter what kind of behaviour you look at, you cannot generalize so much that you can make a statement that is true for all women. So in your case, I am sorry that you went through these experiences! But that doesn't mean, that every dating experience will be like that. All the red pill does is reinforce those negativ and unprodictive views and in the worst case make you give up. I know your po…

I recommend picking up a hobby where you actually meet women. It has to be genuine. You have to pick something you'd actually do even without the idea of meeting women. The cool thing about that is that you get to know them,.and therefore skip the awkward interview-like first dates, and you actually have something in common (a hobby) from the start. It also helps because the women get to know you, because they meet you not as a potential date/ a guy who approached them to date, but.rather as som…

As expected, the definition makes perfect sense within the framework of your claim. But if I ask what the blue pill is under another post, the definition is a lot different. That's not critisim to you, OP, but rather to the nature of the discussions here. Thanks for clarifying!

The "everyone agrees with the red pill part" has a simple explanation, and it's the same reason why you feel like there are no good arguments against it, besides the one you mentioned: The red pill is like a slippery fish, impossible to grasp. Whenever I argue against the red pill, people quickly jump to call my argument a strawman, or "That's not what the red pill is about". The fact is that as in any internet pseudo-philosophy, there are no clear definitions and literally everybody can post un…

Conpassion is the correct word to brinh uo here. People who literally have nothing better to do than insulting online strangers and critisizing their life choices are fundamentally unhappy about themself. I just don't see any other explanation. If someone is fully in touch with their true self and happy with what they found, if they are happy with how they managed their life, then they have no reason to insult someone like that. They think they look down on you, but it is the other way around. A…

I don't deny that those kind of guys have to put in less effort. But I think people in this sub underestimate the variance in women's expectations. I am far from being a man as you describe it. I tend to be introverted, am not particularly good looking, and I don't have a high paying job. And during my entire life, when I was/am out with a group of guys, I am the one who is ignored when we talk to a woman or a group of women. I used to be more red-pill-ish in my beliefs, but once I had a relatio…

I mean even if that is true, I again want to point out that this depends on the woman. And it would paint a completely wrong picture if you don't mention that men have expectations too. I can only assume that you'd want your GF to shave her legs, wear make up, or in other words, simply looking pretty. I can also assume (but here I speak for myself mostly) that you'd expect her to do work either in her professional life, at home, or even both. I expect that of her, and she does that. So yes, ther…

Have you ever tried? I'd say it depends a lot on the woman. I am in a longterm relationship and I don't feel like I have to put too much effort into it. I treat her as I want her to treat me, and she seems to have the same mindset.

I think you missed my point: OP, as the man in the relationship, can control 100% whether the husband will cheat or not in his marriage, because he is the husband. Whether the wife cheats is not in his control, that's up to her. That's why I mentioned only men cheating: My point was that in the divorce statistics, the case "husband cheated" is of course included. But if he doesn't cheat, statistics looks better for him. If OP was a woman, I would have brought the example of a woman cheating. Doe…

I think it is important to rember that statistics never say anything absolute about an individual. In your case, if you are so willing to out in the effort and be a devoted husband, I don't think the numbers add up anymore. You will also look for a wife that expresses the same devotion, which probably helps. Some marriages fail because the husband cheats, which you have under control. Some marriages fail because they have been made hastily in the first place. You won't make that mistake. Statist…

I think the term alpha is used by men who are acting confident, but are really insecure deep down. It is easy to belittle others like you, who may be a bit more on the introverted side to make yourself feel better. Truth is, how "dominant" or "alpha" you are really depends on the situation and what people are around you. If you are with a group of close friends, joking and laughing, an outsider will probably be less alpha if he joins the group. Also, I think you can be proud to be called a beta,…

I think for me it is the feeling of completeness, I am more a relationship guy and I love to explore life as a couple. So what I find attractive is a woman I can 100% trust and rely on. Other traits (besides the body) that make her attractive to me are for example her voice (including a cute laughter) and the way she moves/walks. Why I wanna be with a woman and not a man, if you leave out my sexuality is certainly the feeling of completeness. I do think that there are differences between men and…

My advice to people like you (as I was in a similar situation): Think about it this way: If you meet the right person, it will work out, no matter who you are. Let's say you meet a girl who judges you for not having experience: Then she's not the one for you. This doesn't mean of course that you don't need to to work on yourself, but certainly not on qualities like having a big record in dating. Here is what I did: I stopped worrying about what women think about me, and instead focused to work o…

Without any intention to critizise you are any position you take: I think what could be one factor is your views of the corona situation? I mean most people probably dissagree with you (me included, i think vacvines are great). I don't know what views you have on other topics, but this is an example of an unpopular opinion you have, and for a partner it is always great to have more or less the same views
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/21 05:11 PM

I disagree. I think you forgot something really important: Attractiveness is subjectiv. There is no objective "value" someone has. The "value" of your partner depends only on the qualities that you think are attractiv. You can be together with someone that you think is better than you, and at the same time the other person can think you are better. So everybody can chose partners according to your hypergamy definition, and it doesn't result in an inequality.

It is sad to see such a high effort post with only a couple upvotes. My friend, I can't give you more than one upvote, but please know, that some stranger, possibly on the other side of the world, read your story and is really really happy for you!

In my experience it is as follows: -Looks are relevant for dates/start of a relationship -Personality is relevant for maintaining a relationship Thats why the handsome assholes always split up after a while

Simple: As much as you expect your partner to sacrifice. If you don't put any effort in it and just be yourself: Aboslutely fine! But then don't expect your partner to do it. If you sacrifice a lot, it is fair to expect the same from your partner. Up2u

Right back at you with the thank you! It is nice to see that somebody read what I wrote. I appreciate your thoughts! But yes, a "cult" seems about right for describing the red pill. It also incorporates the flat earth analogy in a way, because those people also behave like a cult in some way

May I ask why you think it is a rant? I really had no intention to rant about anything. What should I do to make the post appropriate for your subreddit?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
