Sounds cold but any new potential partner must have similar or better equity than me and at least have a stable job. You have to remember two halves equal a whole at least financially, so limit your risk. I will never fully trust again emotionally, my wife of 25 years was telling me "she loved me" right up to a month or two before I started getting the silent cold shoulder, by the time I engaged within a few months her mind was 100% made up and no changing it. This is VERY common way for it to p…

Yep as soon as you get comfortable in a marriage or relationship, usually means the wife is thinking divorce as they are bored. Doesn't matter how crap their life was before you, they will not remember any of that :P

I was drinking more and more in the last few years, probably not quiet an alcoholic yet but well on the way. Luckily immediately after separating recently I was able to stop all drinking at home (usually on the weekends) and its now been two months. Did have one drink on a dinner date, but no tangible desire for a 2nd. I am pretty sure I would have become a alcoholic within a few more years if my 25 year marriage had of continued.

All past events exist only in your head when considering where you physically are in this moment, most if not all past events don't actually matter, its you that assigns the level of importance mentally. You need to start actively monitoring your thoughts. When you catch yourself being sentimental you need to tell yourself off, and think about what you can do today and tomorrow to improve your life and or have some fun.

The solution if you want to stay in the marriage. Calculate the monthly costs for each category and assign the appropriate amount each pay cycle.. - Open a bills account (electricity, house tax, insurance etc), you might calculate $600 a month - Open a house account (food & kids stuff etc), you might calculate say $800 a month - Open a "her" personal spending account (you cannot see this) , maybe $400 a month as per agreement - Open a "you" personal spending account (she cannot see this), maybe …

So in 2019 I was told she wanted a separation, we separated and sold the house etc. For 6 months I did not message her, then one day she says she wants to talk about getting back together, I was stupid enough to meet her. Guess where I am today here in 2024, now 2 months into a 2nd separation and another 5 wasted years. Be careful for what you wish for. Separation badly damages a relationships beyond long term repair imho, you will never trust her again and be guarded with your emotions, which f…

Couple of things, - Its over, there is nearly zero chance reconciliation will work out long term, it will result in a 2nd separation and more wasted time. - You existed and thrived before your wife and you will again after. - Past events exist only in your head, don't waste today looking back, catch yourself doing this and tell yourself to stop. - Deliberately visit places you went with your "ex" wife and make them yours, then the last time you were there it was with yourself, or with another wo…

When men get "comfortable" that is exactly when women are the complete opposite and start to think about other options, and worse seldom discuss it. Its a sad reality most men can never be "comfortable" in a marriage, we always have to be actively trying to keep women happy which is utterly draining for men.

Keep in mind you will probably find another long term relationship down the track (hopefully a much better one) if that's what you want. Just don't date 21 year old's looking for a sugar daddy with zero equity. The cold hard reality is you can only seriously date women with "similar" equity, and you will eventually replace what you lost financially.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
