That's complete nonsense. Have a lovely day.

I didn't mention Nazis unless you're somehow conflating feminism and Nazism.

I didn't realize that by simply using the term for the political group that aligns with my belief in gender equality made me a part of a hate group. My point is, I believe in equality and this is the word I use. If that bothers you then you should rethink your priorities.

Hi, feminist man here. That is what feminism means to me. And by painting with a broad brush that everyone who identifies as a feminist is anti-men you are yourself lying and demonizing another group of people. The point is, regardless of label we're on the same side of gender equality. So stop flinging mud and generally being hateful.

I'm not saying you don't just that singling women out as entitled or whatever doesn't seem productive. Seems needlessly divisive.

You'd have to be equally socially inept not to have seen men do the equal and opposite thing. So why is this Tweet productive? Just respect people until they prove themselves to be bigoted.

But it does to say what that privilege is leaving the reader to fill in the blank. It's another example of the circle jerk nature of this subreddit.

Yes it is, what level of respect is that? And since she didn't say please don't put words in her mouth just so you can answer my question.

You "fixed" it with an opinion that defines neither politeness nor respect. I think people deserve respect until they prove otherwise and I think that being polite is a way of respecting someone. Being direct and 'curt' can also be a sign of respect. If you mean something more like admiration or idolizing then you're right. But by most definitions of respect my original statement stands. It's about humanity not us vs them.

This is super vague. I think everyone deserves respect for being human so these women aren't wrong.

This is just such a hostile subreddit.

Is it really productive to let the top comment in a subreddit that's supposed to be about gender equality include calling a group if people you've never met cunts? A move for equality would be attempting to love above or beyond perceived problems with feminism what I see too often here is an eye for an eye attitude that will achieve nothing and only makes you sound sexist.

Because what if she can't afford the abortion? There are other pressures and emotions in play when getting an abortion that aren't the same as just saying you don't want to be a father. Equality isn't possible in this area until men can get pregnant. I agree that equality is the goal but with reproduction there's a biological imbalance.

You think implementing such a law wouldn't result in more poor single mothers? What if they can't afford the abortion? What if they're against abortion? What if she wanted a kid and then the man backs out too late and it's too painful to think of aborting the child? Thinking that sort of law wouldn't victimize women just shows how little you've thought about it

The way I see it is this: yes both people should have a choice. And in the case of sane people and couples with real connections it basically is a 50/50 discussion. Now, not every pregnancy is between two sane people or two people with a deep connection so disagreement will happen. How do we tip the scales in that case? How about by giving the advantage to the person who's body and life is most affected by the pregnancy and birth of a child. If there was a window where men could just walk away y…

It seems like your problem is with biology. In practice do you really think it would be good for society if men could opt out of parenthood? I understand the graphic but our legal system didn't make women the ones who carry the child and carrying the child does make it more her choice than the man's. Is there a productive goal to this graphic or is it just more of the anti-women complaining that this subreddit is so fond of? Edit: To the downvoters, is dissent really the same as not contributing…

I agree, it's not a perfect fit. But it makes sense to change it to a word that already has a positive connotation. Inventing a word and telling people to feel good about it won't work as well.

It's a term people started using because it has a more positive connotation than victim.

I don't understand what this is a response to. Is it something specific or just general childhood gender rivalries?

I'm not saying that these people are being reasonable but no reaction to the royal family is. However, as someone who has experienced a gender identity crisis I personally do have some problems with the way we raise kids in terms of gender roles. I don't know what you mean by "normal baby boy".

Sex is anatomical, gender is how you identify.

No, asshole. But some people are and though these people are going about it in odd way ultimately all they're saying is that you should let people be themselves.
/r/MensRights23/07/13 05:10 PM

This has nothing to do with men's rights. A few people on Twitter using the royal baby as a platform to talk about gender identity issues (a real if not extremely common thing) is doing nothing to anyone's rights at all. Sometimes this subreddit is just people complaining about stuff that is kind of related to gender.

It's not mainstream enough of a feminist organization to count as women lobbying for the right to serve in combat? It must be less exhausting to admit you were wrong than to keep moving the goal posts.
/r/MensRights21/07/13 05:51 PM
2

So no one ever lobbied for it except for the people who did? What do you mean my biology? For combat there are physical limitations not genital ones so the gender ban never made sense and was inspired by sexism against women. I never said shit about feelings so please drop your demeaning dialect.
/r/MensRights21/07/13 03:41 PM
2

No feminist has ever made a push to let women serve in combat? Do you think the ban simply expired? Yes combat is awful but women have been prevented from serving because they're seen as weaker and incapable of it and no other reason. It was men who put such policies in place so the idea that they made this decision out of hatred for men or that this makes any point against feminism is absurd.
/r/MensRights21/07/13 03:26 PM

It's revisionistic to characterize not letting women serve as anything but limiting the reach of willing and able women. It's the same as not letting women work, not declaring men expendable.

I guarantee a similar graphic could be made about women. This subreddit is getting kind of anti-women.

The idea of Men's rights hasn't really reached mainstream society yet. I mean, women have had it so much worse for so long that I don't think people understand the need. It think to most people the idea sounds like when people complain that there's no White History month or WET. The thing to remember is that the majority of feminists are not the raging anti-men types. I consider myself a feminist and men's rights advocate but maybe the easier term would just be humanist.

The election was rhetoric, false promises, and ignorance versus more rhetoric, false promises, and ignorance. Also that example is hardly relevant.
