I'm not an expert but I would guess that Native Americans are especially unlikely to commit crimes against each other because of stronger community ties among those that live in isolation (on reservations). 1	Can't believe I had this conversation. That something is statistically unlikely is not a reason to not be afraid of it. It's a question of risk vs. reward. It's still quite unlikely that I'll get in an accident if I try to drive home with a BAC of .10. But it's MUCH MORE likely than if I am not drunk at all. And so I don't drive drunk. This is because the vast majority of people in the US live near and spend much more time around people of their own race. This is especially true of low income people who are more likely to be engaging in criminal behavior. This is why the majority of crime is intraracial. But if a woman is walking alone at night and a person approaches from behind, that woman IS FACTUALLY STATISTICALLY MORE LIKELY TO BE ASSAULTED IF THAT PERSON IS A MALE than if that person is a female. Out of the total number of cases where a woman is approached from behind by another person at night, a higher percentage of the male cases result in an assault than the female cases.
