Anyone ever feel like there is a bias against fathers when meeting with teachers/ judges etc?Schedule your own parent teacher conference alone. Your perfectly within your rights to do so. My ex monopolized the conversation making me feel similar. Now I go alone and I’m able to express what we do alone at my house for school and what I experience with my kids education. It’s great. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/03/20 10:20 AM

Brother's divorceThis is literally the worst advice I’ve ever seen here. I’m sure your going through some shit right now, so if you need support just ask man. Tell us what’s going on. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/02/19 12:33 PM
Brother's divorceHonestly the easy answer here is always lawyer up and while that's true your situation reminds me of my own (no the cheating or anything). First unless he's actually abusive and its well documented courts don't want to remove a parent from the equation, their mindset is to do whatever is best for the kids. A good lawyer will avail him of these fears and put a temporary custody agreement in ASAP. I would have advised him not to move out of the family home as it sets a bad precedent regarding time… | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/02/19 09:44 PM
Everyone's situation is unique..."It doesn't get easier, you just get stronger" Louis CK Do yourself a favor and get a therapist, venting here helps but I imagine there's a lot more emotional conflict to work through. Best of luck with the job situation, I find the shut down ridiculous but its the cards you were dealt and you can only control how you play the hand. If you need any support feel free to PM me with any questions. I'm about 2 years out and the guys here were a big help and support so I'm obligated to pay it forward… | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/01/19 03:54 PM
Arizona Dad - Looking for Advice1- If you guys are amicable and reasonable then you can do mediation. Things will get contentious its just part of the human condition but if you can both cool of and really think about whats best you should be ok. If things get too contentious or you feel like your being treated unfairly get your own advocate/lawyer. Shelling out the money now is better than shelling out the money over the next 10 years as your kids reach 18. 2- standard 50/50 can have numerous splits but the most common is 5-2… | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/12/18 08:13 PM

Does it get easier?People who don’t know what they’re talking about say ‘move on’, they’re trying to help but it’s useless advice. You’ll move on when you’re ready it’s a process not a decision. | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/11/18 10:37 PM
Does it get easier?I think it was Louie CK who said "it doesn't get easier, you just get stronger", that stuck with me when I was at my worst. You deserve better, there are plenty of women out there looking for devoted men like you. If your not ready to move on, and don't let anyone tell you when you should, focus on yourself. Get involved, find new hobbies, hit the gym, update your wardrobe, get in therapy. Don't listen to advice of "you need to move on, stop thinking about her or what she thinks" these are all n… | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/11/18 10:13 PM
Spousal Maintenance AdviceI'm not a lawyer and I don't know what your state you're in but in PA my lawyer told me alimony didn't come into play until about 10 years of marriage. You'll obviously paying the vast majority of child support (80% based on above), but you should have some leverage regarding alimony; based on how much, how long or even at all if you're required. You can always negotiate away alimony in other ways, such as taking on a larger portion of the debt etc. Obviously speak to a lawyer. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/08/18 04:58 PM

Child Support in Washington StateIf she is the primary custodian and your income disparity is 62/38 then you will pay her 62% of what the state decides is needed monthly for the kids. For example if you have 2 kids and its 2k a month then you'd pay $1,240 a month. This is similar to what I'm paying but both my kids are in daycare which is really a large chunk of this (daycare for both is about $1,000 a month). If it wasn't for daycare I'd be paying closer to 800 a month. I know it doesn't seem fair when you have them 50% of the… | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/02/18 03:41 PM
Child Support in Washington StateDepends on who the primary custodian is, which most of the time is her. Then you’d pay her 62% of the total amount of child support. In pa there’s a very mathematical way they figure it out based on combined income. I’d assume Washington is similar but I couldn’t know for sure. Washington might have an online calculator where you can get a ballpark. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/02/18 03:06 AM

On the precipice of the end of a divorce, the game has changed significantly need adviceQuestion, did you mention your kids (maybe even that your divorced) right up front in those bios or wait until it came up naturally in conversation? I have no idea how to build a bio and was curious. Tolle really helped me, as someone who had problems with trying to figure out and solve everything out at once, which was making me crazy. Did you start out by using any apps or anything to meet new people? I feel like not having any available friends to go out with will really put me at a disadvantage. You say 'go out alone' are you referring to bars etc or other activities. You just went out alone and tried to start random conversations? I'm a pretty forward guy, but that seems like it would take some iron balls; not that i wouldn't be willing to try. "The 4 agr… | /r/seduction | 23/02/17 06:26 PM
