I'm telling you that something like this situation is incredibly relevant in family court. Again, there is no downside to calling the cops and making them file a report. The judge will see it and it will 100% affect his or her ruling on the matter (even if only in regards to amount of support owned). No downside. At all.

That is really a fantastic argument, and one I had not considered. I still believe, in light of rape cases where we hide the accuser's identity, it should be an exception to the rule. Too many lives are ruined due to a false claim of rape. Being exonerated of a rape claim is quite different than being exonerated of a burglary charge. People still associate you with being a rapist, no matter what.
