| – | DISCUSSION🗨️ ABOUT MAIN PPD POSTS📮, LOOKS👀, AND N-COUNT🔢 ARE RESTRICTED🚫 FROM THE DAILY🌞 MEGATHREAD🧵This graph debuted right around the time the height filter became a paid thing so if it’s real it likely predates that change. That said, it just got posted on Reddit one day and people ran with it. There was no source data and no one really knows how legit it is. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 15/05/25 08:31 PM |
| 1 | Men also care about heightMy take as a short guy: Dating is probably harder for above average height women than below average height women, but the sweet spot for female height in dating is probably average +/- a couple of inches. But most men would absolutely prefer to have a woman they physically overpower, and guys who deny that are either ignorant or malignant in doing so. I think both men and women generally prefer to maintain the male-taller norm, but men are more likely to have a preference for a taller partner th… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/10/23 08:14 PM |
| – | Men also care about heightOh wow yes! I am always itching to have the conversation you got into in the second half of your comment. I think the social experience of height is utterly fascinating and it really isn’t discussed enough in a level-headed way. Because height is such a gendered trait, and because we code tallness as masculine and shortness as feminine, I think all of short men, short women, tall men, and tall women have different social experiences of their stature. For men, it’s very straightforward: tall is p… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/10/23 07:25 PM |
| – | Men also care about heightAgreed. There are at least some widespread cultural notions of tallness in women as being ideal and/or beautiful. Like models or long legs being perceived as sexy. I don’t think any such equivalent exists for short men. If one is deemed an icon it is always framed as in spite of his stature. Nevertheless, I also agree with OP that men do generally prefer women who are shorter to women who are taller, it just isn’t quite as uniform or as strong as the preference against shortness in men. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/10/23 07:05 PM |

| 7 | The body-shaming of short men on social media has reached epidemic proportions, yet there seems to be no mainstream discourse about it. Why?This does happen sometimes. | – | When a woman says "I love guys with long hair!" she's picturing a bearded masculine man to go with it.As a lot of others have said, you’re presenting an extreme archetype of a man when you describe yourself as a “femboy.” That’s hella niche and maybe there’s a market for it, but of course it’s not going to be the typical woman. I have long hair, no beard, and am also really not the traditional masculine ideal either—I’m a fit 5’5”, small-framed guy, so I’m tiny. And yet, I couldn’t even begin to count how many times women have complimented me on my hair. If alcohol is present, it’s not that unco… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 20/09/23 02:11 PM |
| 4 | Guys who lie about their height vs women who lie about their weightThis really doesn’t make any sense to me because I know other short guys who have partners—many they met online—who are almost always also short women. I see other short guys in public with partners—usually just shorter women. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 20/08/23 09:28 PM |
| 6 | Guys who lie about their height vs women who lie about their weightAs I said, I’m 5’5”. I get rejected for it a lot, sometimes in super rude ways, although nowadays I always have my height either in my bio or in the profile details so it never gets brought up anymore. Anyway, though, I still get dates. At 5’6”, you’re still taller than most women in most parts of the world (so likely where you live, too), and the reality is plenty of women who are shorter than you will not auto-reject on the merits of being not-taller-enough if they otherwise find you attractiv… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 20/08/23 09:16 PM |
| 19 | Guys who lie about their height vs women who lie about their weightI’d be extremely annoyed, and I understand why women would be annoyed if I lied about being 5’5” to get a date. I’ve done a lot of online dating as a guy several inches shorter than many of the guys who cry loudest about how hard it is. And it is hard. There is a lot of denigration of short guys and it can be hard not to feel at least a little insecure over the preponderance of negative commentary around shortness (and positive commentary on tallness). But still, I get dates, have sex and have g… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 20/08/23 03:39 PM |
| 3 | Are tall women (6'+) easier or harder to date for shorter/average men relative to shorter women?I’m a short guy and my life experience backs you up. I’ve had taller partners but shorter women have throughout my life been much more positive about my height than taller ones. I’ve never understood where the notion that short women are less open to short guys comes from bc it’s completely alien to my experience and what I see in public too. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 09/02/23 09:07 PM |
| 7 | Study reveals that the greater the height difference, the happier the wife - evidence of hypergamy?I mean, step stools have been invented and are mass-produced, so they're relatively inexpensive. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/01/16 02:15 AM |
