One thing I learned is to not text back immediately because sometimes I'm happy she texts back and this makes me respond way too enthusiastic / too strong. It probably made you think you did something wrong while in reality, the girl was most likely just insecure and didn't have the mood to cancel. When someone likes to text a lot before a first date and I engage, I will get too invested and it will backfire. I've had that experience. Now we just send some texts a day (and reply whenever we feel like it; so no real conversations but more like email communication). I think the problem is my insecurity; I like validation. However, I'm working on it, my confidence increased and I get more dates now (and am even talking to / dating more girls at once). This realization boosts my confidence even more.
