What is divorce? A man's perspective.Divorce is the best thing that ever happened to me | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/02/23 03:25 PM

Am overcomingWhat kind of hobbies do you do if you don’t mind me asking as I’m in similar situation and I keep busy but feel I need something to get stuck into! | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/11/22 03:23 PM
Just agreed to mediationThat’s a refreshing attitude to have I’m glad to hear your emotionally prepared for this. I’ve been separated since September but just finalising the agreement and then can move on. I’ve accepted the situation similar to you and it helps with the inner peace. I will have a clean break arrangement and once signed there is no obligation to one another at all. No kids either btw. Start afresh. :) | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/01/22 02:14 PM
I hate this life, how could she actually want this? How do I ever feel okay again?Your way off better without her! Hear me out- I am in the middle of leaving my marital home following the announcement from my stbxw that she wanted a divorce a couple months back. She has many issues and has an explosive bad temper. When she finally announced she wanted to divorce me she turned into someone I can only Describe as an enemy. Everything was my fault and she was a victim! I took years of physical, mental and emotional abuse ( I don’t use these terms lightly) and to be the one that … | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/11/21 12:09 AM
Amazing Resource For Those Dealing With Narcissists. (So Pretty Much Everyone Here)My stbxw has a career, hobbies and friends. But the problem was that her hobbies, her interests and her friends were always above me. When I wanted to things it was normally with my wife because I wanted to spend time with her. When I did things on my own she was angry because I didn’t do them with her. There was no pleasing her unless I became totally subservient to her- then she would pick a fight over anything. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/11/21 09:52 PM
Fellas, hang in thereThis rings so true for me too. My stbx wife is a pure narcissist and I feel like her past kindness was all subtle manipulations. I catch myself missing her but realise that’s her manipulating me still! She is a terrible person. Glad I’m getting out. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/10/21 10:42 PM
How do I stop thinking about my former life?I’ve recently separated and I miss my wife too though she had many issues. She seemingly turned from being my wife one day to someone I don’t recognise any longer. she is overall a terrible person yet I miss her. Personally for me - what’s helping me get through this time is realising that I was in love with an illusion. My love was real yet her love was fleeting. It’s hard right now but you will get through this. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/10/21 10:35 PM
I’m sad but relieved - but conflicted too on my separation.Thank you - everyone I’ve spoken too says the same thing. It still hurts to lose someone I really loved. I’m sure things will get better soon. :) | /r/Divorce_Men | 19/09/21 11:18 AM
I’m sad but relieved - but conflicted too on my separation.Yeh - the marriage is definitely over it’s just that we are getting on ok during the divorce proceedings and I suppose this is making me sad- I see her daily and we’re being nice but divorcing- very odd. Non the less your very right that a kick in the ass is what I need to move on from her. Sad times | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/09/21 02:29 PM
The depression is so bad I’m struggling to survive. This might sound cliche but Don’t be so hard on yourself. I too have recently separated and heading to divorce. My wife is cold, distant and as much as it hurts me right now- her actions are making things easier to deal with. Allow these feelings to come over you and realise they will pass. You will feel better I promise. Lastly - don’t make any decisions when your emotions are all over the pace. Allow yourself Time to think. There is no rush to make life changing decisions. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/09/21 10:29 PM
Just beginning “trial separation” any advice would be helpful. Been married 6 years and have two young kids. Feeling extremely anxious.I’m going through the exact same thing. Trial separation instigated by my wife but knew it was just her wanting to see if she would enjoy the single life. Low and behold after one minor disagreement over something she said she wanted out of the marriage. I knew it was coming so I prepared by seeing a solicitor. Non the less I had hoped in that time there would be a chance for reconciliation- but deep down I just knew. My advice: prepare for the worst- and hope for the best but don’t be hard on y… | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/08/21 07:03 PM
Trying to decide if I give my wife another shotIm really sorry to hear that your going through this. I also am in exactly the same situation but married for 4 years. We are separated but living in the same house - for now. My wife is the same - verbally abusive and controlling - I think just very immature but what a toll it takes on my mental health. We have called it quits just the other day but I’m conflicted like you are. What I will be doing in the coming days/weeks ahead is preparing myself emotionally and really let it sink in that it’… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/08/21 12:49 PM
