2	"Your thoughts are not you" OR "Stop listening to your scumbag brain" This is a phenomenal post. The only times I've ever felt truly happy, I was doing things that kept me living in the moment- not thinking about the past or the future. An intense workout, a great day with a friend, playing football. It's supremely liberating to be able to focus on the glory of now, and not on poisonous inner dialogue. 2	Staying friends with someone after asking them out You ask her out, she says no. If that happens, it's not a big deal. There shouldn't be any serious emotional investment in asking someone out, and without emotional investment there can be no serious baggage. Try it, if she says no, whatever. If anything, it might make you closer friends if she says no- it doesn't mean she doesn't like you, it just means she doesn't "like" like you.
