I’ve made the mistake of thinking someone couldn’t be clever enough to be manipulative plenty of times too. Especially as women, we are prone to giving partners that excuse. Just because someone isn’t waking up in the morning plotting the ways they’re going to manipulate you, doesn’t mean that it’s not manipulative behavior.
