Where am I brigading from? I’ve been involved in commenting on this sub for a fair while now?
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 11:35 AM
0

Ok. I’d be interested in how that argument goes with Reddit.
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 11:34 AM

Because it’s a ban evasion sub?
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 11:04 AM
-16

It was explicitly banned for violence and links to terrorism? MGTOW2 was banned as an evasion sub. This one will be banned as an evasion sub too.
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 11:04 AM
3

You’re going to get banned as an evasion sub?
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 10:22 AM
-18

So you’ve opened a sub, that was banned for violence, and you have zero idea what MGTOW actually is?
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 10:16 AM

I mean, I’ll just refer you to my previous comment.
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 09:59 AM
-1

I get that impression from you. Always remember, that your subjective lack of understanding isn’t an inherent criticism of an objective fact.
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 09:58 AM
3

I mean, you absolutely didn’t. You immediately attacked her, called her a whore. You didn’t even address the point she was making?
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 09:54 AM
0

Censorship isn’t inherently bad. I’m happy with censoring men who are shouting they want to hit women for instance. I’m happy for people to censor other people they don’t want to speak to.
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 09:51 AM
-2

I’m not sure that you could accurately identify what she was doing as trolling? This is literally just a woman you disagree with?
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 09:44 AM
-3

But you did call her a whore. Honestly, I clicked through to the thread absentmindedly last night because you seemed you you were being a bit ridiculous. I read the whole thread and remember explicitly thinking that you were behaving weirdly, and abusively. It’s rare that I would remember a specific comment thread of two people that I don’t know. I just think this whole thing is weird behaviour on your part.
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 09:31 AM
-6

I’m pretty sure this is you calling her a whore yesterday. There’s a whole lot of words in this comment that I don’t have time to read, but it sounds like she upsets you bro, so block and move on? Stop flagellating yourself.
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 09:23 AM
-5

Oh I saw this. You follow her around and call her a whore in public posts though? Why don’t you block her and stop specifically looking for her?
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 09:08 AM
0

Yup. I’m an extremely active user :)
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 08:59 AM

So I would say that would make you an extremely active Redditor? Seems like a successful model to me. Successful business model - maybe not.
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 08:50 AM
-1

I’m sorry that you feel that way - that’s a difficult place to be in your life. I do think that if we quantitively assessed the comments in this page of the last week, that the results would be hatred and worrying misogyny that goes far beyond the comments this woman made above. I also want you to try and see how similar your comments above are. In the initial post, a woman is making sweeping generalisations on the quality of men, because she’s been hurt by a man. In your comment, you’re making …
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 08:43 AM

I mean, you’ve amassed 8000 karma in a year. That would be at the more active end of the scale.

There are a fair few subs that have auto ban systems. I believe that I’m auto banned from babybumps and FDS for posting here, for instance. They just have a list of sites that they aren’t happy for their commenters to post on. FDS explicitly states that it’s to stop their own members from engaging/trolling, as well as stopping the other subs members from trolling there. It’s really very normal. A few men’s rights subs had autoban systems as well, as I recall?
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 07:57 AM
2

Really? It cost a full time minimum wage to put my kid in childcare so that I could work. If governments provided free, high quality childcare, this statistic would change overnight.
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 07:54 AM
1

And yet, you’re extremely active on the site?
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 07:52 AM
1

*too
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 07:50 AM
-3

I’m not sure that there is anything in this that is against reddits rules, and I see much worse misogyny in the comments on this sub?
/r/AntiFeminists15/03/22 07:49 AM

It’s almost as if women do the majority of the unpaid work, leaving them little time to operate paid work?

/r/AntiFeminists14/03/22 10:44 PM

So… it’s feminism fault that you guys don’t celebrate your own day?
/r/AntiFeminists14/03/22 10:44 PM

It’s also a self-regulating business model. It’s relatively clever.
/r/AntiFeminists14/03/22 09:42 PM
2

Because Reddit is very specifically set up in that way? It’s a self regulating business model with minimum involvement in the company. They only really get involved when subs are encouraging violence or criminal activity.
/r/AntiFeminists14/03/22 09:41 PM
3

It’s an automated ban. I can assure you that no one that is active in FDS is interested in you. :)
/r/AntiFeminists14/03/22 09:41 PM

Oh gosh. I genuinely hope this is a wake up call to the anti-feminists in this group. This is the quality of person you’re associating with 😂😂😂
/r/AntiFeminists14/03/22 06:15 PM
-1

I’d be really surprised if she defined as feminist? Maybe you could just be overt, and use the term woman instead?
/r/AntiFeminists14/03/22 11:23 AM
0

Yeah exactly that. Also the lived reality of rape as an act of warfare meted out against women, and the lived reality that more women and children die in warfare than men in battle. Can you see how the impact of war is different for the genders, but still present for both? Incidentally, you’ll really struggle to find a feminist that is pro war or pro conscription. Sounds like we agree?
/r/AntiFeminists13/03/22 08:52 AM
1

I mean, I can’t speak for your understanding of feminism, but feminist theory and methodology identifies patriarchy as the issue, and that impact on both men and women in various negative ways. Are you misunderstanding the idea that the patriarchy disproportionately impacts negatively on women with an idea that patriarchy doesn’t impact on men at all?
/r/AntiFeminists12/03/22 07:15 PM
-4

The one that disbenefits you personally, that you refuse to identify??
/r/AntiFeminists12/03/22 06:34 PM

It’s almost as if the patriarchy negatively impacts both men and women? Who knew? (Feminists. Feminists knew)
/r/AntiFeminists12/03/22 08:55 AM
-2

I mean, I’d expect you to go by an individual woman’s standards. Why wouldn’t you? If someone doesn’t want you why bother wanting them? Seems like a weird kind of personal flagellation to me.
/r/AntiFeminists08/03/22 09:14 PM
-2

I mean. Without getting into a massive argument with you, it’s pretty clear that sexuality isn’t a choice. The ability to live freely, and the choice to be open is a thing. You have to see the nuance in that though?
/r/AntiFeminists08/03/22 08:49 PM
0

She hasn’t said ‘no fatties’ or ‘have high sex drive’ though. She’s explicitly talking about her personal boundaries, and how she’s revelling in drawing them. There isn’t a comparison, and your drawing false equivalency there. That sounds like a you problem.
/r/AntiFeminists08/03/22 08:48 PM
0

Since when has sexuality is a choice 🤣🤣
/r/AntiFeminists08/03/22 07:50 PM

I just don’t get your issue? It sounds like she wouldn’t meet your standards either?
/r/AntiFeminists08/03/22 07:49 PM

Can you link the article? I’m interested in the company and industry.
/r/AntiFeminists05/03/22 09:57 PM

Why don’t women want to work there?
/r/AntiFeminists05/03/22 09:56 PM

I mean, you could just talk to a woman and ask?
/r/AntiFeminists05/03/22 07:40 PM
1

What does it meeeeaaan???
/r/AntiFeminists05/03/22 07:40 PM
2

If these aren’t the variables you’re discussing though, I’d be interested in knowing what they are?
/r/AntiFeminists04/03/22 05:56 PM
2

It’s OK to be wrong, and it’s also OK to say that your understanding is at its limits you know. It’s a strength. :)
/r/AntiFeminists04/03/22 05:55 PM
2

The title of your post is about averages and variables.
/r/AntiFeminists04/03/22 05:45 PM
-7

I get that you don’t understand it. My comments are more for the lurkers at the back.
/r/AntiFeminists04/03/22 05:45 PM
1

… because they’re the variables that you mentioned 😂😂 I get that you think it a fine that quantitively women earn more, but the rest of the world doesn’t. The insight given in a pure quantitive, comparative analysis is minimal - that’s why you then look qualitatively to get a full grasp of the issue. The problem is that you are happy to shrug and say that it’s normal for women to earn less, and for men to be less happy. I am not.

Iceland/Nordic countries, and equal access to maternity and paternity pay would be a massive move forward. Free, high quality childcare from birth would be another. In the UK, full time childcare for under 4’s (at which point free childcare kicks in) is costed at above the minimum wage. I was forced into taking maternity leave with my first kid (11) and was miserable and poor for 6 months before I cracked and essentially paid to go back to work, then for my post graduate. By the time I had my se…

Ahhh. So the problem here is a lack of understanding of the meaning of discrimination. Discrimination isn’t just limited to overt, direct discrimination. It’s not just ‘you can’t work here, you’re a woman’. It can be overt and indirect, like having a policy or law that disproportionately impacts on a particular group. (so maternity/paternity provisions, or lack thereof) or it can be covert and indirect, such as creating a hostile environment for a particular group. So the problem is that where y…
/r/AntiFeminists04/03/22 04:37 PM
-2

Ok. Out of respect I did. I’m wondering why you think the fact that this is an average is less valid merely because it’s an average? What variables do you think contribute to a the gender wage gap? And why??
/r/AntiFeminists04/03/22 04:30 PM
-6

How bizarre to be commenting that a methodology that has intrinsic, extrinsic, comparative and convergent validity isn’t solid, purely because the valid result doesn’t fit your personal opinion. It’s almost as if you don’t understand the metrics of the calculation 😂😂
/r/AntiFeminists04/03/22 04:28 PM
-5

The problem with what you’re saying is that the countries that have equality in terms of this metric are the countries that have universal healthcare, childcare, restricted practices, duality of maternity and paternity leave. If what you were saying was true, the metric would hold true in every country. It doesn’t.
/r/AntiFeminists04/03/22 04:12 PM
-1

Do you understand the concept of average though? Using an average (although that is far from the only methodology that is utilised in the mechanism of the gendered wage gap) is not in and of itself a problem.
/r/AntiFeminists04/03/22 04:11 PM
2

To be honest, I’m not sure you would accept sources from me if I did provide them. When I teach this stuff, I normally come across the same kind of disbelief, so I tend to set questions instead. If your state/country has a gender blind rape law, you could compare pre and post (most gender blind rape laws are very modern) but you could also use the UK as a comparator, using the Office For National Statistics . You will have a similar website that published the quantitive data, and I think that it…

Neither of those things are true… but I’m not sure that you can grasp that.

Do more kids get killed by women though? I think you guys have caught us with us now? Interestingly, where women do kill children, there is almost always a non-genetically connected man involved. Why is that?
/r/AntiFeminists03/03/22 11:20 PM
1

(Whispers… rape isn’t gender neutral. It’s a crime committed by men. Even in states and jurisdictions that have made rape gender neutral, the scale of sexual assaults by women remain stable. Countries that have effective sexual assault laws would see no difference were the female offenders to be charged with rape or enforced penetration. Sexual actually odd almost always committed by men, with this percentage so pronounced that there are incredibly few sexual offender programmes for women. Where…

So, punching police officers in the 1800’s? Are you talking about the suffragettes here? And the SCUM manifesto of the 1970’s? The Duluth academic model of domestic violence? Are we being real here gentlemen?

‘Feminist ideology’ - I’m struggling to think of any feminist text that tells me than men offer nothing, in the same way that I’m struggling to find the link between a years old video of a kid being saved and feminism. I’m giggling a little bit about the condescending part of your comment, but it’s really difficult to not be, in this particular circumstance, so I’ll duck out now. All the best!

Please do tell me, a woman who has given birth twice, and had two abortions, and is studying towards a medical law and ethics masters, about birth. Detail it for me.
/r/AntiFeminists03/03/22 05:00 PM

If you’ve never heard about it, it’s because you aren’t listening. It’s just never happened to you. The draft is an issue. War is an issue.
/r/AntiFeminists03/03/22 04:37 PM
1

Because the death rate for un medicalised birth is about 10%. On a very basic level. Because women control their fecundity in unsafe ways where abortion is banned or difficult to access. If a fecund woman has sex with a fecund partner, she is pregnant three times a year. Do you bury tampons? Give them last rights? Do we hand out birth certificates for miscarriages? The distinction between a foetus, a viable pregnancy and a baby is pretty simple stuff. It’s medical, it scientific, its centuries o…

/r/AntiFeminists03/03/22 03:22 PM

Yeah. Again though, that’s not quite what the problem was. The access to free abortion has impacts that run throughout the macro and micro levels of a country - pure criminalisation or enforcement of an existing law is one thing, the risk of being prosecuted should you access or provide fundamental health care for women is enough to reduce access. The people who fought for that for decades weren’t virtue signalling, they were saving and changing lives. ‘It’s only 9 months’ shows such a vast misu…

Abortion isn’t killing babies. So we’re good. You can relax bro.
/r/AntiFeminists03/03/22 02:37 PM

I’m confused as to how you’re confused. The subjective opinion of the woman is the difference. The problem is that you aren’t comfortable with that.

At work, but briefly! university level social science students. Hence the lessons on social theory, heavily focused on feminism. It’s honestly worrying that I spend a month justifying feminism as a topic of academic worth to social science students 😂😂 I wasn’t saying that you misunderstood, I was commenting on the OP. I wholeheartedly think we need less feminism. Before we get to that stage we need gendered equality. It’s not feminists that are mass shooting. Or committing acts of terrorism. Cou…

So the gay comment was in reference to the chances of you impregnating a woman rather than your understanding 😂😂 And quite legitimately yes, I’m saying that men don’t provide ‘almost 100%’ of the income for a family 🤣🤣 I have a massive soft spot for you you know, but you are so very young.

I dunno what to tell you kid. Until you’ve been through 9 months of puking everyday, the equivalent of massive abdominal surgery, and a massive social economic and personal imposition that having a kid is, you don’t get an opinion. I’m not even sure it impacts on you in reality does this? Aren’t you gay?

Well! On that. Sort of, although I’m not here to troll. It was made abundantly clear to me this year that after two years in their bedrooms, students are arriving having been indoctrinated against any type of feminist movement… it took me six months to even begin to get them to understand why feminism is on their syllabus. It got me thinking about my interests with anti-feminists online, and I realised that although I very much was arguing with you guys on a regular, that some kind of ‘back to b…

Isn’t it. Reddit is massively US centred. I had a perusal of your profile, and I’d be interested in replying to some of your posts - but I don’t want you to feel like I’m haranguing you and following you around the internet 🤣🤣 Hit me up if you’d like my view on single mothers and the impact on young men 😂🥲

It’s ok - and I’m sorry you feel out of control! I think it’s easy to view this as a debate/exercise when it doesn’t directly impact on your life… it’s one of the reason that I tend to maintain a policy of not discussing anything that is solely a female issue with males. Don’t worry, you didn’t do anything wrong, you can carry on with your day and your games :) Have a good one!

Don’t sweat it - In interactions like this, it’s never aimed at you. It’s much more important to have an open public discussion for the people at the back, who are lurking. I’m genuinely quite excited about it.
/r/AntiFeminists03/03/22 09:18 AM
1

So that isn’t the case tbh. But it’s an interesting point, and when I get home from work I’ll spend some time proving my point, including reference to the times and downvotes of comments and posts. We’ll take posts made over two days, a few days ago, and do a quantitive analysis. I love a quantitative analysis!

I’m not stalling. I’m asking you why you are comfortable both stating that white men are discriminated against, but also that you don’t discuss racial issues. Genuine interest.
/r/AntiFeminists03/03/22 08:41 AM
2

So I’m just marching into work, so I’m going to struggling to give full and evidenced answers specific to state, but I will give you my rough understanding, and be open to being wrong. (Comparative international family law is not my bag) The systems in the US vary state by state, but I would be extremely surprised if there was any state that had a blanket rule that men pay, without reference to who is looking after the children. In other words - when you talk about a woman making a ‘decision’ to…
/r/AntiFeminists03/03/22 08:39 AM
1

Ahhhhhhh so you’re comfortable discussing race when you feel that you’re being discriminated against? You see how that’s you exercising that there privilege, don’t you? The intersect between the manosphere and white supremacism is ever present.
/r/AntiFeminists03/03/22 08:13 AM
1

When men develop the ability to get pregnant and have abortions, I’m here for their opinions. Until then, there should be zero interest in your opinion. Edit - don’t worry though, I assume that you’re American, so it’s likely that you’ll get your way soon. Male signatures needed for every abortion, if it can even be accessed.
/r/AntiFeminists03/03/22 08:11 AM
1

So proportionately, men aren’t willing to raise the kid. They’re the vast, almost complete majority of absent parents… but putting that to one side. Firstly - always use condoms. Pregnancy isn’t the only risk of sex. Secondly - I too have have had one friend who was devastated when their partner choose to abort rather than continue a pregnancy. It took him about 3 years to recognise that it was the right decision. The difference is the value we place on the possibility of a man being upset. Huma…
/r/AntiFeminists03/03/22 08:10 AM

So my understanding is based on my understanding of the legal system, which is fairly significant as I teach it. You’re conflating child support and alimony (or similar - we don’t have alimony per se in the UK) but regardless - the amount is based on income, and interaction. If you set up your life where a woman isn’t able to financially support herself, you’re going to pay more. If you don’t do this, you’ll pay the minimum. And no, I genuinely enjoy this page. I used to be a bit snarky, but I’m…
/r/AntiFeminists03/03/22 07:33 AM

Birth control isn’t a gendered thing. There are a whole range of birth controls available for men to use. Use them. Sex is an inherently risky task. The risks of sex are gendered, in that they are different for men and women, but they exist for both parties. Honestly - make sure your communication is strong, that you have a plan you’re happy with, and that you’re on the same page, but note that this is a risk.
/r/AntiFeminists03/03/22 07:26 AM

So I’m interested as to whether you see the connection between the behaviour seen on this sub, and that of incel or MGTOW? The link is fairly clear to me.
/r/AntiFeminists03/03/22 07:20 AM
1

I mean - leaving aside that that isn’t what happened, you can kind of see why they’d be scared. What with the inherent violence and terroristic views of the manosphere? It was a frightening place, as this is, as was the incel sub.
/r/AntiFeminists03/03/22 07:17 AM
1

You’re saying it well 😂😂 I have lost count of the men I’ve met that moan about child support. In the UK it’s literally a few quid, unless you’ve both made the active decision for a woman to be financial dependent on you, you’re not going to be paying half of your pay check. Also I think it’s easy to forget that child support is gender blind. It’s not a payment that’s handed out to anyone with a vagina. It’s handed out to people who are the main carers of children.
/r/AntiFeminists03/03/22 07:16 AM
1

So you have a privilege, but being able to make a choice not to care, or learn about issues that don’t impact on you. To men, refusing to learn or discuss gendered oppression is a choice, because you don’t face it. To white people, choosing not to learn about racial oppression, is a choice, because we don’t face it. It’s easier to refuse to deal with a topic when it doesn’t impact on you directly.

Oh hey! ;) But again, disproportionately falls on women.
/r/AntiFeminists03/03/22 07:09 AM

One of the main reasons that I tend to not discuss abortion with men is their lack of understanding. Leaving aside the implication that pregnant women rely on benefits to support them, can we agree that the consequences of a pregnancy are far beyond economic?

So let’s backtrack a little, because you’re almost falling into tin foil hat remit there. Your post is about winning a debate against a feminist. That is the specific win I was referencing there. /r/AntiFeminists02/03/22 10:57 PM

Let me be clear here - MGTOW was banned because of its descent into the level of racism that can be seen in the post above. Not to mention violence, and eventually, a mass shooting. This was predictable and avoidable.

The way you write this, it’s like lore. Kudos. All of those threads were banned because there is a genuine, growing, worrying and damaging trend towards violence, and more particularly, violence in actual life, planned on those subreddits. You will absolutely struggle to find a terrorist of any ilk that hasn’t shown some form of misogyny focused behaviour. School shooters are raised on subs like INCEL, MGTOW et al. If what you were saying was true. The closure of those two subs would have been c…

That’s because you haven’t grasped the concepts yet. I understand that you have exercised your privilege of choice in choosing to not grasp either gendered or racial inequality, but I don’t want you to go through life thinking that that’s a win for you.

So I can deal with the question - you just dislike the answer. Men have no say in abortion because pregnancy is a gendered event, and the consequences of a pregnancy, whether it’s continued or not, disproportionally fall on women.
/r/AntiFeminists02/03/22 10:37 PM

It sounds quite effective, until you realise that it’s one of those questions that shows an absolute lack of awareness of the original topic. Do you ask the same question when you discuss race in America?

Ahhh so you’re deliberately being obtuse? A black man ‘taking’ your wife has been the mainstay of far right lunacy for years, but it’s been specifically adopted by the modern misogynist focused groups all over the manosphere. This video, which is years old, originated with the INCEL, incel-lite and MGTOW movements/sub-reddits. All banned. Because of the clear links to terrorism and actual violence. Categorisations like ‘chad’ and ‘Stacey’, developed into the overtly racist ‘Tyrone’s’ etc. Just i…

The comments on this thread and on the original are a horrifying mix of racism and misogyny. There are 18 thousand Indian citizens in the Ukraine, and it’s a surprisingly popular destination for students, because it’s significantly cheaper. The last number I saw was 400 Indian citizens evacuated, but there are a number of sources that show men being evacuated alongside women. Less of a comparison and much much more of an analogy… I’m more than open to criticisms of feminism. An examination of bias is pretty much fundamental to the feminist method, so it’s there, and integral. My degree is also law, so I’m well versed in the gendered inequality of the legal system… and the underlying realities that cause this. Can you see how much of a double standard it is to suggest to me that I should leave a space because you disagree with my stance, on a thread where you criticis…

Ahh so you did need to input on free speech. The problem is that it’s tiring to explain really simple stuff to people, when the really interesting conversation is far beyond that. If the OP wanted to have a very basic discussion on whether sex equals gender, he can have that here. With very little input from people outside of this specific community. You didn’t ask why sex=gender was worth deplatforming, but I explained it really clearly and gently above. So the reason I’ve bothered to explain i…

The OP :) ‘I tried hard to make my response as balanced as I could’ is not trying to remove negativity. I’m making an honest effort to try and explain this type of stuff to men on here in a balanced way. Are you interested in why?
/r/AntiFeminists14/02/22 08:27 PM
1

No not at all - I’m surprised you read any negativity in my post at all. I tried hard to make my response as balanced as I could. I do think that people in general view an exclusion from a conversation as an abrogation of their freedom of speech, and it’s important to note that de-platforming can sometimes just be an indication of the de-platformed person’s lack of understanding or knowledge in the area… and is a legitimate use of the principle.

I think it’s indicative of someone not there to understand or debate. It’s a bit like asking whether blue lives matter is a statement that is offensive or hateful. Not in a micro sense, but in terms of the way it’s utilised, absolutely. I think sometimes people forget that if they don’t have academic or personal experience in a subject, their interjection is very likely to be useless. At best, it was a boring interjection that lacks understanding and respect. At worst it was an intentional move …

So, bit by bit, because it would be unfair for this stuff to go unchallenged. There are absolutely not differential outcomes for crimes for men and women in Spain. We know this because a) there aren’t, and b) this would be an abrogation of EU law. And if enacted, would lead to a very expensive procedure by the European commission. It’s a supreme piece of mental gymnastics to state that rape isn’t a male crime, although I’m aware that some of the states the folks across the pond live in have inexplicably made the distinction. The sexual offences act 2003 (UK) is balanced in that there are comparable offences (enforced penetration, penetration with an object) that can be completed by women - the lived reality however, is that they just done. So Reddit have been fairly clear in the distinction that is made, and the reason for sub removals. For MGTOW and INCEL, it was the planning of violence, and the adoration of violence. For MGTOW2, it was ban evasion. Cannot emphasise enough that this wasn’t my decision, or even really my thoughts. But the distinction is clear - FDS remains because it’s not violent and isn’t a clear threat to public safety, incel subs et al absolutely and demonstrably are. So MGTOW and MGTOW2 were banned specifically after this shooting that was linked to the movement. His Reddit history was an absolute treat, and mirrored a lot of the posts on this sub tbf. Ok ok. So the male based subreddits descend into violence. MGTOW and INCEL were both linked to plans for violence, or terroristic acts. That’s the difference. Another key difference is that FDS is based and focused on choice. So it’s encouraging women to make choices based on their needs and wants. That’s completely different to the male ‘equivalents’.

So - I think the report is fairly clear that it measures output in a directly comparable way, year on year, with a longitudinal methodology. That link you’ve sent doesn’t make immediate sense to me - it feels likes it conflating a whole range of academic terminology in a way that is meant to confuse, but I am currently teaching and I’ve just had a brief look. I’m going to look again later.
/r/AntiFeminists10/02/22 01:46 PM

So, and I’m just checking here… the world economic forum is the only organisation that has completed research that identifies gender based inequality for women? Edit: I did a tiny bit of digging (it took me two mins) and found the methodology for the WEF annual gender gap report. I’m no methodology expert, (I teach it but not to undergraduate level at the moment) but it looks ok to me. Can you identify the issues there?
/r/AntiFeminists10/02/22 01:10 PM

The problem is - that this is the quality of people that you associate with. You can’t really engage in a sub like anti-feminists, and then get upset when the comments are calling for women to lose custody, or let their husband/father/brother take control of their lives because they know what’s best for them. You have to begin to think critically about the company you keep and why they accept you and your thoughts.
/r/AntiFeminists10/02/22 12:59 PM

/r/AntiFeminists10/02/22 12:29 PM

It’s interesting that you think that - but there are a whole range of measures being used. I would suggest that where data sets match, all using separate methodologies, that the clear trends could be said to have convergent validity? No?
/r/AntiFeminists10/02/22 12:09 PM
0

It’s difficult to debunk to be fair. Countries that have moved towards gender equality have much higher levels of happiness, social movement, economic achievement, both on a micro and macro level. It’s tiring to constantly have to centre a movement around men, when men are not the group that is at a detriment, but it should be stated more than feminism and equality of the genders benefits men as well as women.
/r/AntiFeminists10/02/22 11:53 AM
1

It’s interesting to me that you did that though. I teach a lot of young men on a course that includes feminist social theory, and I’ve come to the realisation that a) nobody actually gets what feminism is about and b) they absolutely have to be told the end result of patriarchy before they come round to the idea that a feminist perspective is beneficial to all genders.
/r/AntiFeminists10/02/22 10:49 AM
1

That suggestion wasn’t there though. That was something that you’ve read into the commentary. You’ve also read a focus on ‘men’s rights’ into actual article. I can’t find any reference to is in there, but I’m open to being wrong if you can quote it. The article for me is much more about toxic masculinity/societal expectations and how that harms men.
/r/AntiFeminists10/02/22 10:04 AM
0

So - the lower paid work is completely by women? Shocker. I’m a teacher, and I’ve not come across a single sex workplace yet. What I have seen is the physical reality of the overarching stats. (Roughly) 80% of employment in education is women. (Roughly) 80% of management roles are filled by men. This is a massive problem.
/r/AntiFeminists10/02/22 09:56 AM
1

So I’m not sure this is a men’s rights post though? The state of masculinity isn’t about rights, it’s about praxis. And I absolutely agree that the depth of the article is weak. Why is an article about societal pressures on men focused on whether or not they get access to women? It feels false to focus on whether or not men are living with their parents at 34, when the real societal ill is the level of crime that men mere out to those around them.
/r/AntiFeminists10/02/22 09:55 AM

Woman: we want to control our fecundity Men: WHY WON’T THE WOMEN JUST TELL US WHAT THEY WANT Women: we want to control our fecundity. Men: WOMEN ARE SO RIDICULOUS! THEY JUST NEED TO ASK! Women; We want to stop the attack on abortion rights, and for contr…

So it’s less the direct comparison of legal rights (although the right to control fecundity is a specific legal right right that is massively under threat) but much more the praxis. Equal pay legislation is pointless in places that have no maternity leave, for instance. But I get the impression that you are well aware of this, and either don’t care because it doesn’t directly affect you, or don’t believe that this is the express Ives reality for women. The reason you wouldn’t have got an answer …

But sex selective abortion is almost completely the abortion of female foetuses. It’s common in patriarchal societies and cultures. The sex selective abortion of female foetuses is a recognised problem, in a way that your nebulous statement of ‘feminists hate men so much that they abort them’ (paraphrasing) is not.

The comment was about the end of men. On a meme that notes that women would still be producing children. Read it all back slowly and take notes. You’ll get there in the end. It’ll be a lightbulb moment for ya.

You’re right. I keep forgetting that make children die at higher rates, but are born at higher rates. Is that the fault of feminism as well?

You don’t have to explain to me. I have two boys and I was fucking bereft when I found out. It doesn’t negate from the fact that male children are born just less than 50% of the time.

I love that you think that feminists only birth women.

Thanks for the tip u/blondebitchuser… do you just go for blondes or would an almost red head be able to undergo to abuse that an interaction with you would inevitably entail?

I wish you health and happiness in your stoic decision not to engage with my searching questions :) Hit me up if you ever manage to find the research. I would be dead interested!

There is no argument here. I’m genuinely interested. I’m a feminist academic, and I’m slightly confused about how you think gendered research comes about, if not by people who understand gender? I’m slightly interested in where you would go to find a sample of the kind that you think you’ve identified here, in peer reviewed research? Do you think there is a place for self reported research in any event? Do you think that research that uses that methodology counters it in any way? Do you think th…

So the study that suggested that unmarried older women were the happiest subset of society - that was all feminists? How do they screen for that? What questions do they ask? Is there a membership card? I’m not sure you’re bang on about the life expectancy data. When you control for infant/early childhood deaths, the actual age of death hasn’t changed that much. Once you get past 5, you’re probably going to live until old age, and that hasn’t really changed. We just keep a few more kids alive. Qu…

I think that might be an irresistible conclusion if you’re underlying feeling is a mistrust of women. I can see how you have arrived at the conclusion - your position just lacks a logical thought process. That’s all. How do you feel about life expectancy as a measurement? That would remove the need to rely on what women are explicitly and repeatedly telling you?

Respectfully, it seems many more than you. I’m interested in the mindset of defending the contents an in referenced study (or two), in particular one that’s one that one that has specifically been presented in a way that makes it seem legitimate, with a brush off that equates to ‘not the case in the two women I know’? Seems like an exercise in confirmation bias, rather than a comment on the objective reality to me. I’m always open to being wrong.

Ahhh. So… you just… talk to women? What’s your sample size here? How many women do you have regular deep contact with?

I’m interested in what you think about the veracity of the self-reported stats above. Edit: was beefing interested in the sample size, and I can’t seem to find the actual studies that these ‘stats’ comes from. My google skills may have failed me… could you link? Freedom Canadian radio seems like. Fairly dodgy source to me…
