I remember hearing it being used like that in my country a few times but we are like really really more patriarchial than western world so those kinds of things are more likely to be downplayed. It turns out that when the main religion of a place's main thing that everyone cares about is how men are mindless animals and women are immediate attractions for men it makes people really misogynistic.

To be fair it's also annoyingly used for adult men being creeps or attacking people which isn't something that a man in that age should be doing. I support them in that case as I wrote like a gigantic wall of text to the original guy but yeah when used for literal children who still doesn't understand that cutting something in half doesn't increase its value it's just true.

That's kinda the problem. There are two contexts of this phrases use. I never heard the other in my life and any of it local translations or successors ( I live in turkiye which is much much more patriarchial so probably it exists I am just never in a place to hear it). First context is referencing a very core part of reality. I would say that what you are saying is almost impossible. You probably can't even make 50% of men drop their weapons let alone 90% which realistically speaking anything less would still be enough for the rest of the army to hunt down or kidnap. I am also quite angry at this phenomenon. Like they could genuinely believe that 90+% of Australian men are pedophiles with a two page analysis paper while we need 20 studies to even attempt to start talking about it. It's quite sad and why I gave up at being a feminist.

Men in my country can't get a job unless they went through six months in conscription. Like most places say that since we can be called for it any second that we are not reliable and government just refuse to give you a position no matter what. It sucks really.
