I'm probably being overly cynical but liberals seem like sock puppets on most issues. They're meant to give the illusion of choice, but when they get into power nothing really changes. And they always have an excuse or someone to blame for why they can never seem to accomplish anything.

The only other one I know of is Gods in Everyman by Jean Shinoda Bolen. It's an interesting read, but unfortunately she can get quite repetitive at times and takes a fairly feminist bent to the subject matter. Still might be worth a look.
