2	Does your husband travel? Snap caps are to practice failure to feed or failure to eject. I think they are a helpful learning tool in learning how to handle a gun. I am going through a very similar situation and here's what has worked for me: -Go shooting and get comfortable with firearms (sounds like you've already done this--excellent!). Consider taking a defensive gun safety course to ease your brain when it comes to middle of the night noises. Part of my fear was would I know how to handle myself if I thought someone was actually breaking in. -Get yourself some blank bullet/practice bullets and just get used to cycling the gun, etc in your home.
