42 about to file, having 2nd thoughts. It would be weird if you didn't have second thoughts, it's a big decision when kids are involved. For what it's worth from someone who also did the filing, I am so much happier now. Like, SO much happier. Everyone's situation is different, but I regret nothing. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/07/23 03:57 AM
Guys, I don’t know what to do…I remember being in this stage a few months ago, trying to calculate all the finances, etc. Similar situation where I had to get my kid out, but it wasn't alcohol. It eventually hit a point where it was like, it doesn't matter what all of it costs cause I have to do it. The costs are what they are and best to look at them as a necessary evil. We aren't the first to go through this and we won't be the last, but the sooner you get into the shit the sooner you and your kid get out. My wife didn't w… | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/11/22 05:10 AM
told my wife the truth yesterdaySounds like an improvement on communication could go a long ways, couples therapy could help. Not sure all is lost but impossible to make that call from a single post, you would know better than anyone if divorce is the right solution. One thing that hit home for me was the, "you hate me." I experienced that all the time and it drove me nuts, lol. If I said I love you she would say, no you don't. I never understood how she thought that was a helpful reply, but our problems went much deeper than … | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/10/22 04:06 PM
What if I take off after she filed?I had a buddy in High School who racked up a few too many DUIs in our early 20s. He did 30 days in the clink, and the next time around he got a year thrown at him. He did took off as he couldnt face a full year in prison and that was 15-20 years ago, heard he has a kid now and sometimes wonder about him and what life must be like. If you don't mind the reality of never returning I'd say go for it. If you returned at 75 and she moved on, what would even happen at that age? | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/10/22 03:19 AM
Just sent my first temporary support payment in the amount of ... $27.55Just had my first support meeting today, this is much less than I am paying, lol. I actually can't wait to start chipping away at it though, the sooner I get into it the sooner I am out! | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/10/22 03:02 AM
Feeling pretty low 😥Do you remember the toys and amusement park tickets your father bought you, or the conversations you had with him? Make every conversation and interaction impactful and you will always hold that place in her heart, it can't be bought. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/10/22 04:16 AM
I loved her but couldn't love her in sickness.Your wife needs a lot of therapy, like a lot and im not trying to make light of the situation. Likely a daily group therapy. And she needs you too if you can manage it, but I left my wife for a similar reason so understand if you cant. I had to get our kid out of dodge. Her Dad needs to stay the F away from her too, (obvi) so not sure if you can get that to be court ordered. Sounds like deeply rooted Stockholm syndrome and this was tough to read. I had a friend whos sister experienced something … | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/10/22 02:47 AM
