Yeah. This is undeniably stupid and a terrible idea. But having worked in similar environments here in Aus I can't imagine any of the guys were offended or bothered by this, I imagine they just found it funny. I'm also a woman. Has a man ever offered you his seat (while you weren't impaired in some way)? Have you ever seen it happen with a different woman? Have you ever seen a woman kick up a fuss over that? Guessing not, because it's not expected for men to give up their seats to women (nor should it be).

I'll never understand this logic. It's not about earning a seat because you're pregnant. It's about having a temporary disability. No one is awarding you comfort, it's just that decent people can recognise it's a lot more uncomfortable for a pregnant woman to stand than a non pregnant person. Someone on crutches may have gotten black out drunk and fallen down the stairs. Their own fault, but who cares. I don't offer them my seat because they've earned privilege, I do it so they don't fall down.

Right. Thank you. I live in a busy city. I catch the train often. By the time I hop on, there are rarely seats available. Not once have I even had the thought a man would stand up to let me sit down. Not once has any man offered their seat to me. Not once have I seen a man offer his seat to some random (non impaired) woman.
