100% this. They see you acting this way, but you box them out. No reason to. Be honest, admit your mistake, and be better next time. I also don’t let my kids let me off easy by saying “it’s ok dad”. I say it’s not ok, but I’m trying to be better. They will appreciate the openness.

It would be better to have a locksmith open the door. It would especially look better in front of a judge.
