I have played around with the idea that there is a conspiracy in which men try to get women to eschew heterosexual relationships. This conspiracy works to make men as unappealing to women as possible. I know it is kind of silly to believe in conspiracies but then I read something like this. It makes celibacy and loneliness attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/26 01:42 PM

I have never heard of a woman enjoying abortions anymore than men enjoy having a vasectomy. You do have me thinking about sadists who enjoy hurting others. I bet their are women sadists too but I wonder if there are more men who are sadists.

I've often seen people like OP describing OLD as a wonderful thing for women where they just order/select the man they want. This seems to come from some kind of male fantasy of what they wish OLD was for them. I've never done online dating and I'm sure it works for some but for many men and women, it isn't a great experience. For women maybe the experience is bad enough that they don't use these apps. Edit: grammar

"no way has actual sexual activity been necessary in order to be slut shamed," This is so true. Virgins are slut shamed, rape victims are slut shamed. Hell even little bitty kids are slut shamed. Furthermore, there are so few women on OLD that I have a hard time seeing how it has affected women that much. OLD apps just seems like a successful business model that preys on lonely men. Women are more likely to avoid these places and are often chased off if they engage with men on them.

Ah thanks. Interesting. The "why compete" along with the "men are better" is interesting. Maybe a head injury or mental health problem?

I would argue all sexual assaults matter. This isn't being argued here; however a poster further up the thread claimed that sexual assaults are committed equally by men and women. We need a study showing this to give credence to his/her claim.

Is this maybe a troll or bot account?

Would you term yourself homosocial or heterosocial?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/26 04:55 PM
4

Irk. I suppose there are reasons to be homosocial but I'm a bit skeptical of people who are hardcore about this. I suppose some people have been abused by the opposite gender and so avoid men/women.

I just want to be unattractive and OP mentioned that demanding someone pay for my food will make me unattractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/26 12:26 PM

Ooh ooh me too!! Some of us aspire to being unattractive. Maybe I will start demanding men pay for my food!!
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/26 03:02 AM

Ugh. That must have sucked. I hope you are okay?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/08/26 01:46 PM

That sounds like one interpretation specially if you see it as hetero men acting like homosexual men. In the context I heard it, homosocial men try to impress each other and are only interested in talking with each other. Some men have zero interest in interacting with women and are almost insulted if a woman wants any kind of non-sexual interaction.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/26 07:18 PM

I love checking out how women dress. Hypocritically I don't dress well at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/26 02:52 PM

I recently heard the phrase "homosocial" meaning men who act in a way to impress other men. I suppose we women do this too.

I keep hearing this from men on Reddit but I have never seen any data or report that indicates women are as sexually predatory as men. Even IRL in my community the sexual predators have all been men (sadly we had Father Bob White at our church) Please, link something that supports this claim. Or even let me know of being attacked by a woman yourself. I am so so sorry if this was your experience and I hope you heal and find peace. Edit: word

To me what is sexy is when men worry less about sex and genitalia and worry more about birth control, HPV vaccines, and unwanted pregnancies. Also sexy when men take an interest in who a woman is; what are her values, interests, perspective on life. As others have pointed out here, so many men go right to thinking about sex. Women often start dealing with this as little kids. It isn't fun. Edit: word
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/26 05:43 PM
11

I don't understand what you mean by "has to accept". I would argue that people and the world are so complicated that each individual can only understand a portion of it. Sadly little kids are attacked and raped by mostly men. I don't know if they "accept" that this is just how men are but the reality of men is often pushed home while people are still very young. Happily there are many amazing men who care about others and would never willingly hurt someone.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/26 01:04 PM
22

"Men not caring about the costs to women and just wanting to use them for their own pleasure is revolting." And I would add, a man who cares for the well being of a woman he is interested in is sexy but maybe rare.

Exactly. I'm so confused by post like OPs as I have never heard of anything like this. I've tried to find least-biased, basic explanations of what is considered mainstream feminism but can't say I've found anything that I has stuck. It probably doesn't help that I see so many opinions about feminism that are just that an "opinion".
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 08:56 PM
1

I have read research and development is more centered on men. But women spend a lot more on health and of course maternal care is costly and sadly in the US pretty bad.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 04:07 PM
1

I would think Feminist would be more worried about health care for women, child care, poverty, education, violence and stuff like that. I bet there are feminist with strong opinions about sperm banks, I'm just never been around someone like this.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 09:57 AM
1

Okay I just haven't seen this. Although to be honest I don't really follow feminism and get pretty confused about what people consider feminism or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 09:53 AM
11

I've never seen this advice either. OP can you link something that says this . . . .hmmm . . . I don't doubt some woman somewhere said or at least thought this but I'd like to see where a mainstream feminist group advocates this.

"performative slop that brings in the cash." So much this. What is really insightful into humans or something that sells doesn't necessarily have any overlap. Gah.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 07:29 PM

Probably OP has a bit of bias that his algorithm is picking up and now feeding him bait to satisfy his rage. Sigh. I have this going on in another direction in my own feed. I'm off to look up cat videos and Scotch darning to try to influence my feed.

Good point. Some of us are better off alone but this doesn't change it for people who aren't okay being single. I suppose some will develop peace with being alone.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 06:45 PM
10

It seems like older women who get out of relationships are more likely to stay our of relationships; I mean they don't want a new one. Also women are more likely to be widowed so they will die single anyhow. Hmmm . . . . "dying alone" tends to mean "living alone" not actually being single at the time of your death.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 06:43 PM

You might have a bit of a confirmation bias at work here.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/26 01:04 PM

Didn't the boy scouts have tons of child sexual abuse law suits and consequently had financial problems? They let girls in as they needed more money. I don't think it had anything to do with women.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 10:36 AM

That's hilarious.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 10:31 AM

Isn't the NY Post a kind of crappy source?

Well people still seem to be uptight about women's sex lives at least in religious circles and online. I kind of changed subject midway through that last post: 1st part was about affording kids; second part was about societies and women's sex lives.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 11:06 PM
6

I'm in the US and so many young people can't seem to be able to afford kids. Societies being uptight about women's sex lives seems to cut across time and culture. People are so weird.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 09:34 PM
14

That is how it has always seemed to me. I'm always kind of flabbergasted by the phenomenon of societal worries about promiscuous women when men seem to have a way higher desire to be promiscuous. It is mind bending.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 08:51 PM
1

The old saying was "sex sells"; now it is "hate sells".
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 10:25 AM

What solutions have you seen that you think might be workable? Or do you have any ideas yourself? Personally I would like to see boys start school at least a year later as they often aren't ready for kindergarten at 5 and then think they are stupid and bad at school when they just aren't ready.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:21 AM
20

Sigh. This is how it felt to me as a young woman. Men would corner me and talk about themselves without pause and a few even told me, I was the most "interesting person" they had met in a long time. I suppose it is a type of attention but it sure wasn't appealing. To be fair, I find people who listen to me talk about myself without interruption fascinating too (-; We humans are like that.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 06:58 AM

It is dehumanizing and an over-simplification of an individual. Humans are complicated way beyond having just two categories.

Ashley's War is a good read about women in the military. It came out some time ago so, no doubt, things have changed. I wish we could send old people to war as we have less life to lose. I remember the discussion when the Ukrainian War started that men were being sent as if you have to send squishy inept people to war the men are less squishy and so the better choice. I wonder if I could learn to fly a drone.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 06:50 PM

I like this. I realize it goes a bit off topic but I like to focus on living a life a good constructive person. Of course my idea of "good and constructive" is different from other people. There are people I avoid. I can't say that I avoid them because of standards or preferences. Mostly I just don't enjoy their company.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 12:22 PM

That is a really great point. I want to think that the best reason to have a child is if you think you would be a good parent and your surrounding community and the world are a good place to bring a child.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 11:45 AM

I've heard it said that people don't have children because they are selfish. Probably true in some ways but it can absolutely be selfish to have children.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 11:21 AM

"For the time will come when you will say, ‘Blessed are the childless women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed!" -Jesus Christ, Gospel of Luke Sadly there have been many times when the childless are blessed. For women, having a child can be like choosing a lifelong disability.

When I was young I wanted to find some man to fix me. Life and reality is not like this. I finally realized that I wouldn't make a good partner. If you have what it takes to be a good partner, I hope you meet someone and build a wonderful life together. In the meanwhile, huge kudos for finding peace with who you are and where you are in life.

Weirdly my life has just gotten better and more fulfilling with time I do believe there are women (and probably men too) whose lives get lonelier and sadder with age. My twenties were so hard that everything since has been an improvement. I don't know how old you are but I so so hope with you are doing okay and that you are finding fulfillment.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 02:36 PM

The majority of these men might be players and don't want partners. Hmmmm . . . these statistics seem to refute your claim: it is women who engage in casual non-personal sex the most " as it looks like most young women have serious partners.

Sadly maternal deaths have gone up in the last couple decades and the cost of living is just not conducive to having children in the US,

Ugh. This must have sucked. I so wish these people would find something more useful to do. PP has probably prevented more abortions, via education and birth control, than it has performed.

Oh man that doesn't sound fun but way better than cancer. I remember reading that this is the kind of cancer that Eva Peron died of.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 08:45 PM
1

Yes. More good news. Sadly we have too many anti-vaxers or people who think their children will be chaste or don't thinking about rape or finding a partner who cheats. My niece was infected by her husband who was her first and only boyfriend. She found out he was cheating when she got HPV and had to have part of her cervix removed. Please people get your kids vaccinated. I'm probably preaching to the choir here /-:
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 07:21 PM
1

You got me interested in this so I went and looked it up. There are over 200 kinds of HPV; 40 of these affect genitals. Apparently the vaccine protects against 9 different HPV, 7 can cause cancer and 2 cause genital warts. I've also read that cervical cancer is disappearing where the vaccine is widely distributed. I'm happy to hear this as I so want to hear good news.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 06:00 PM
0

Oh absolutely. From what I understand there are a bunch of different kinds of HPV. The vaccine just protects against the kind that cause cancer. Please know that "From what I understand" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in my post (-; I am so NOT a microbiologist!!
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 05:47 PM
0

Yes. Finding a compatible partner is tough for most people. Fortunately we now have the HPV vaccine so young women are protected from cervical cancer but in the past getting with a promiscuous man was super dangerous.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 02:24 PM
4

Yes and maybe more so the men. Slutty men not what a lot of women are looking for.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 01:48 PM
5

Purple pill seems to emphasize the question looks or personality but there are a lot of non-physical traits that seem more important than either: values, lifestyle, ambition (or not), personal habits, financial values and habits as well as family of origin. Unless someone just wants to have casual sex, the above is pretty important.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 01:47 PM
11

That makes sense to me. There was a woman who described dating for herself as burning the haystack to the ground to find the needle. I would speculate that there are many amazing men out there who aren't compatible with a lot of women.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 01:28 PM

Oh man, where's my house?? 🤪 I'm confused by your statement.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 12:55 PM

Would you like a coffee with the bonbon? Apologies if I'm being a bit fresh offering you a coffee along with chocolate.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 01:42 AM
17

That is a good point. If dating apps are like being "a billionaire shopping for a house", I would expect there to be a lot bigger percentage of women using them. From what I've heard, only 30% of some dating app users are women. I've also read of women getting chased off dating apps by men who harass them. That being said, I can kind of see how OP thinks it could be a great thing to be a woman on a dating app. I would too if I didn't know the reality.

Ugh. This might be true. You may have heard of Reynard Sinaga. Good person to look into if you are concerned about consent and drinking. Ugh.

"Why the hell do I see so many thinkpieces on social media that the man should still provide for two people like it’s 1960 and that the woman should be able to just save all her money for fun things or if the relationship doesn’t work out?" I've never seen anything like this. Although I'm not sure what a "Think Piece" is on social media. It sounds like your algorithm is feeding you what you like to read. Sigh. Such is the nature of algorithms and we are all vulnerable to them. I hope IRL you don…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/26 02:54 AM

Yep. Paying attention is super important.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 11:41 PM
1

Well it sounds like you are into porn and sexually active people so your circle will only give you that view. We all have our echo chambers to a certain extent.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:39 PM
1

Well you sure seem to believe that and from what I understand many men do.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:38 PM
1

OP it really sounds like you are drawing your information from porn, other men and maybe a few women. You might look into who is producing the porn and who it is being marketed for. Of course there is porn being produced by women but from what I understand, it is for men. This may skew your understanding or reality and women.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 03:01 PM
1

How should I know? I don't doubt that these type of men are in porn more but porn seems to be propelled more by men's taste than women's but I really don't know. Sex can be painful for women so they might want someone with a smaller penis.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 01:58 PM
1

Women are all different. I bet there are women who are "sexually free" who make content. There are also women who make content who need to make money and this is the most available way to do it. It is hard to tell what is going on in the inside of someone from something posted online. People are complicated.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 01:28 PM
1

I'm not into porn. I know it exists but it doesn't mean that it is exemplary of most women. Sadly "sex sells" and women can make money this way. Many many men (and some women) are into porn so it is lucrative. You have probably heard of "the oldest profession". I figure most of us came into this world because some ancestor sold her body to feed her kids. At least the online content is safer for the producer. Ugh.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 12:55 PM
2

Irk. OP, your parents and grandparents are very unlikely to tell you about ONS or any other story of sexual promiscuity. Just because they didn't tell you doesn't mean it didn't happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 12:50 PM
2

Oh man, I will never forget the one time a woman made a pass at me; it was such a different experience. She was my size. I could have put her in a headlock not that she was at all threatening in her actions. It wasn't scary at all. This was decades ago and the memory still astounds me at how different it was.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 12:40 PM
1

Ah. I don't watch porn so I wouldn't know that. As noted above it does have a meaning outside of porn but if you aren't a reader but watch a lot of porn, it makes sense that such meaning would be irrelevant to you.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 12:34 PM
1

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/gangbang Gangbang has a violent nuance to it. Well if you want to be gangbanged that is up to you. Please be careful out there. There are people like Reynhard Sinaga.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 03:38 AM
1

I have never met someone who enjoyed group sex. I was referring to gang rape which would be beyond traumatic.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 03:30 AM
3

Sir we are communicating right now on the internet. I'm really confused here.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 03:29 AM
2

Ugh. I agree women aren not born to be gangbanged. Sadly it is a bit of luck of a draw. Often people in a family will rape the children. Some women are more active sexual than others. Our sexuality seems to be something we are born with.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 03:20 AM
1

I seem to be communicating badly. I certainly didn't say nor believe that all men are on dating apps. That seems impossible to me. There are surveys that collect data both about how people meet partners and about the gender ratios on dating apps. It is interesting stuff. I don't doubt that some women meet partners on dating apps but these places seem to be mostly men. Some probably do tell partners about their sexual past just as some men do. Depends on the person.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 03:18 AM
3

I'm confused here. I wasn't discussing interracial relationships. Tons of things have changed but as I stated in my post, " as far as premarital sex" it is pretty similar.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 02:56 AM
16

And sadly this experience flavors many women's reaction to a polite nerdy guy trying to strike up a conversation. It isn't his fault but the woman probably has had previous bad experiences with men who are sexually interested in her.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 01:58 AM
3

So has your family vetted who you have sex with?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 11:36 PM
5

OP you might look into the Free Love movement of the 60s and 70s. Things now, as far as premarital sex, are not that different than they were then. Of course there were then as there are now, religious people or people who choose not to have sex outside of marriage for whatever reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 11:34 PM
6

I'm 63 and hook up culture was still a thing in when I was young.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 11:29 PM
3

The trouble is that you yourself may well be a WAP dude and don't like that about yourself and so you project this failing on anonymous hypothetical women. You have heard the phrase "they tell on themselves". Your concern with these hypothetical women might be something to reflect on a bit. Our own sexuality, libido and failings is tough stuff.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 06:42 PM
8

Yep not new. US presidents weren't exactly chaste: Thomas Jefferson, Cleveland, Warren Harding are all infamously not really on the up and up when it came to sexual purity.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 06:35 PM
7

As far as I can tell, way way more men are into dating apps. I looked up recently how women were meeting partners and it was mostly in real life not online. OP, you might be doing a bit of projecting here. So much of what men don't like about women and sex seems to have more to do with their own habits than the actual habits of most women. Maybe think less about what women do and don't do sexually and more about your own failings around sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 06:19 PM
5

Of course parents model values but from what I understand, people are born with their sexuality and libido. It is more nature than nurture. Of course is you are raped regularly as a kid, you will have some pretty heavy ptsd. How have your parents been involved with you choosing (or not) sexual partners?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 05:37 PM
4

So would it have been helpful if they would have been around and forbidden you to have sex with these people? Would it have been helpful? I just have a tough time imagining what this influence/parental-guidance/restriction would look like if you were an adult at the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 04:37 PM
3

Have your parents been involved in who you choose to have sex with? This just seems weird to me but then my family may be weird to you.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 03:59 PM
1

I tend to think families, kids and in-laws are risky no matter what. As I said before, I want parents and schools to teach consent, birth control and coercion to kids. Of course the modeling of relationships that parents do will be way louder than anything "taught". Sadly, some parents will reject an adult child whose partner they don't like. So it goes. These adult children may well choose to go no-contact with such parents.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 03:56 PM
11

I thought it was common for young people to not introduce partners to family members until the relationship was pretty serious aka it is a pretty big step in a relationship. As far as sex, I would think healthy families stay out of it (other than to explain birth control, consent and coercion to young people.)
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 01:59 PM
1

Sigh. Yes the good intentions that pave the way to hell but probably doesn't even do that.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/26 02:30 AM
1

Well if I could hand them to you I would.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/26 02:26 AM
1

Hmmm . . . I think I'll pass on these "benefits for women". If you want to overthrow it, I'm with you!!
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/26 02:25 AM

Okay, that makes sense . . . I'm going to chew that over. When I was younger (before internet) I read a lot of literature by men. It wasn't until decades later that I was reading the view point of only privileged men. . . . .of course these authors were human and struggled but they had the education to write and whatever it took to get published. Irk, I think what I just said was part of that aforementioned "chewing over". Thanks.

Oh yes and super expensive as the women were taking such a huge risk. I read somewhere that sex workers are now cheaper but I don't know that for sure and can't remember where I read that. It is called the "oldest profession". I understand that excavations around brothels during the Roman empire found mass graves of infants. I suppose this is a natural result of brothels before birth control.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 11:33 PM
4

I hadn't heard that but it makes sense. Now I'm curious about this. Of course there are people who hit it off right away but hitting it off probably isn't the same as a true friendship.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/26 10:12 PM
4

I would think this is true. 100 years ago there was little available birth control and so casual sex was just not practical. It is probably tough on young men now that they grow up thinking casual sex is something to expect but many women aren't into it. Even with birth control it can be risky and not very pleasant.

Relationships take time to develop. Also conflicts can happen that ruin relationships or people just don't want a relationship with you for whatever reason. I'm perpetually single and work hard to be part of the lives of my family and people in my community.

People do a lot of things behind closed doors that no one but their partner sees. People might be going to the police for this in your country but often police don't do anything. Just because you don't know about this doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 12:11 PM

I don't understand?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/26 11:07 PM

I always understood that Religious life was often academic/intellectual so women who were interested in education often joined monasteries. Of course before the printing press, reading wasn't exactly a practical skill.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/26 09:25 PM

I've never heard that. I'm sure some weren't interested int education but some were. Do you have any information that supports your view?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/26 07:12 PM

It wasn't something women chose; it was just reality of the time. Yes some women did manage to support themselves but it was uphill work for them. I don't think women could even get a credit card until the early 70s.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/26 07:11 PM

Looks of course play into it but also the woman's background. A redditor once wrote that she got with her partner because he felt like home; it was only later that she realized that "home had never been a safe place". She had found someone who mirrored her family or origin.

It just seems like there are so fewer women on dating apps that I don't see how dating apps have changed women's behavior?

Thanks for this. I'd agree that it is systemic. Ugh. Tough to fight this kind of thing. My nephew is going into nursing and I was disappointed to hear there weren't more men in his program. That is a fair point and I think I used a logical fallacy (appeal to extreme). I would argue that there are plenty of men that seem to be good decent men in surface situations: a job interview, a friend, an acquaintance who just aren't even safe. You can't tell; I can't tell and a woman looking to date can't tell. These men are well known in the community, hired by institutions who do thorough screenings, church members, educated, hard working but . . . as a partner - Not good. There are many su…

Well I have heard that the "slippery slope" is a logical fallacy but it seemed rude (and off subject) to point out. Also I had someone try to explain how sometimes it isn't a fallacy but I didn't get it very well. Yes I too.understand it is a minority of men who commitment violent crimes. Now I'm wondering about gays and crime. I would think this is relatively rare but I don't know anything about it. Unfortunately, domestic abuse and attacking a date may be in a different category than other violent crimes as often it isn't reported or flies under the radar. I'm not in on understanding wide swaths nor slippery slopes so can't comment (-;
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/26 01:03 PM

I love this. I've heard other men say they get a lift from being hit on by gay men. I don't conflate crime with gays; I do find men scarier than women. (Not that we women can't resort to violence and abuse). Apparently most (not all) violent crimes are committed by men. This can be an issue for women in dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/26 12:25 PM
5

This seems to be the case in current times. A lot less women want to have casual sex than men in the first place. Currently many women are bowing out of dating, relationships and sex. I'm in the US and we have a dropping birth rate. Probably not just sex can be unpleasant, but childbirth is increasingly dangerous.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/26 06:38 AM

Thanks. I haven't heard the term before.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 07:17 PM

"Comphet-afflicted "? I think this is just a typo but I still can't figure it out.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 07:11 PM

This is probably the closest some men will come to understanding. OP could certainly go to a gay bar and he may well get lots of attention and even opportunities but it probably wouldn't be a positive experience for him. He is likely firmly heterosexual but might like the compliments and attention but men can be dangerous. OP would have "issues with dating" in this situation more similar to women's. OP if you do this be very careful. Men do get raped. Reynard Sinaga went after men. . . . . hmmm …
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 07:02 PM

Sex just seems like such a different experience for women on so many different levels. Sex with a stranger or even someone I don't know well is horrifying to me. Of course there are women who like this. I kind of wish there were more women into sex with strangers as so many men want this. Even for women who like sex with strangers, safety and pregnancy has to be a concern. I try to imagine what it is like to have sex something that doesn't happen inside my body and I can't quite do it.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 06:52 PM

Yep. I was letting people draw their own conclusions. Horrific. But as OP is arguing, she did get attention. I will pass on all such attentions and wish I could protect others from "generating attention" even while unconscious.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 04:44 PM

Yep. I wish it was more insane than it is but this happened and assaulting unconscious women is not an uncommon occurrence Yep she got attention; yep she got to have sex; nope this wasn't good. It is so tough to empathize with OP and men like him who see attention as purely positive. Of course women get more attention and occasionally it might be a positive experience but more often than not it isn't.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 04:41 PM

The issues are so dang different for the genders that empathy and understanding of each other is rare to non-existent. If getting attention is the same as dating, then indeed women have it easy. Hell we had a woman in the US get pregnant while in a coma. I would argue that most women don't equate attention and dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 03:07 PM

I so so want people to figure out that marriage/partnerships/dating/men/women are too much work before they have kids. If I guy said something like that to me, I would probably back him up on that view and use myself as an example of someone who would be "too much work"
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/26 10:13 PM

Yes or even just texts. Most of us have received scam messages from "women" who try to gain trust and then get gift cards. AI takes this to a whole new level. Ugh. I don't know what people can do to protect themselves. Ugh.

I haven't heard that the 4B movement talks about either Matriarchy nor Patriarchy. I'm not even sure if Korea has these concepts? You are making me curious. I would argue that "centering children" could mean awareness that many situations are not a good place in which to bring a child. If there isn't going to be involved adults, along with food and shelter a child isn't going to do well. Add in violence, war, and sexual abuse and the situation is even worse for a kid.

/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 01:23 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 01:22 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 01:20 AM

I've tried kissing people I wasn't in a relationship with and it was not pleasant. I imagine having casual sex would be that much worse. I would argue most people have a pretty good understanding of their sexuality without having to try. Some people will never be into heterosexual sex; some will never be into homosexual sex. I have heard of little kids know they are gay or trans. We humans are kind of hardwired for some things.

I'd agree that someone with this level of distrust has a problem and sadly there are people who have been so traumatized that this is how they react to almost anyone. Oh yeah, I have heard of this group. They were more focused on alcohol but also on other social issues. I did find something about their involvement in the Mann Act. Which was designed to stop human trafficking and raise the age of consent. https://cwhlevanston.org/recent-research-the-age-of-consent-and-the-wctu/ Such a policy would have limited access to prostitutes as children would no longer be available as sex workers nor adults who were non-consenting.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/26 08:50 PM

Thanks although I don't see anything about women being involved in creating policy around prostitution in the bit about the WWI era. I bet there were; it just wasn't mentioned in this wikipedia article.

That is kind of what I was thinking too although I don't know much about the history of sex work. u/Financial-Result-502 if you have a link about early 20th century sex work policy, I'd give it a read as long as it was readable for a lay person.

All of these apps just seem to prey on lonely men. Also it looks like Bumble, like most dating apps, is mostly men. The small percentage of women on the app may be lazy but mainly they just aren't on the app at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/03/26 01:25 AM

Grooming is a thing. We don't use the term when it is two adults but manipulating anyone for sex is a bit sketchy. Also I don't think it is necessarily a man's fault when he can't get a date. Many women don't date for a myriad of reasons that have nothing to do with any man.

"it should really be seen as a backup, not the main plan for children learning about sex and relationships." Sigh. Yes. It is something but I so wish every kid had a functional parent committed to supplementing the education of each student.t
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/26 08:03 PM

Yes. Lots of homeschooled kids although many of these "homeschooled" kids aren't schooled at all. Also just being told something doesn't mean you have learned it. Most of us are experiential learners.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/03/26 01:33 PM
2

Yes should be parenting but as I said many kids don't have parents or have non-functional parents or their parents work so much they don't have time for their kids. I'd argue that how to treat people in a relationship you learn from the adults around you with whom you have a relationship. Any logical, curriculum presented at school would not make up for not having relationships with functional adults.

I didn't know "sex addicted males" was a slogan. Apparently we consume different media. I'm not sure the capitalist patriarchal machine really wants anything. I can understand anthropomorphizing it. In some ways it would be great if it was an individual rather than a huge cultural, economic system in which we are all entangled.

I'm in the US and we have had some amazing presidents although also ones that just wanted power and women. Ugh.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/26 08:07 PM

But then we do have some world leaders who are deeply committed to the kind of values I see in my village.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/26 07:22 PM

"Youre free to gamble, be a sex addict, hate men and be lonely, etc. no ones stopping you" I'm sure some women wind up like this but for many of us without partners none of the above is true. A certain amount of women, and men too, appear to do just fine without a partner: no gambling, little loneliness, no sex addiction.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/26 06:07 PM

This would seem to apply mainly to sex addict men and women who don't have a means to make a living. In my circle, most people seem to just want to be good people, part of a community and have a partner. Although some of us have no partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/26 06:04 PM

That just seems super simplistic to me. I don't doubt that there are some men for whom everything is about having sexual access to women and also some women who can be bought with physical resources but I don't see that as the majority of humans at least in my culture.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/26 05:33 PM

I worry more about climate change, kids without functioning adults in their lives, nuclear proliferation and people who are only satisfied with money, power and sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/26 04:53 PM

Of all the problems humanity faces, women being attracted to only a few people seems to be pretty far down in any ranking of problem severity.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/26 04:32 PM

I'd argue too that it isn't really indifference but most of us, men and women, are so caught up in our own problems that we don't have the energy to think about others. It is a bit self-centered but that is how humans are. I suppose this is a type of indifference.

To me this kind of "being wanted" was pretty worthless as I craved someone being interested in me because I'm funny, smart and successful. It felt like they wanted a girlfriend not me in particular. It was a lonely feeling. I stayed single.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/03/26 10:43 PM

Well said. Most advice is good for the person giving it rather than the person receiving it. People and life are complicated; what works for one person in one situation doesn't work for someone else.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/26 03:43 PM

Yeah, I don't get this either. I worry about kids that adults go after but not adult women unless the women are being scammed but anyone being scammed bothers me.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/02/26 08:32 PM

That would be me too. It took me way too long to realize that I'm actually doing people a favor by staying out of their lives. Some people just want to be left alone.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/26 03:33 PM

Man oh man, there are a lot of women out there who you don't want to touch with a 20 foot geiger counter. I see my own toxic femininity as projecting my own sexism, not wanting to be the adult around "masculine tasks", being passive and many many other issues. I do think I can overcome some of this if I live to be 150. Ugh.

Your post makes sense to me. Not having to get married nor have children is HUGE. Of course I struggle in my life but comparing it would have been 100 years ago, I am beyond beyond lucky.

Someone on this thread expressed being very pro-sex before marriage. If you feel strongly about no premarital sex, challenge him on this. Also as you may know, data shows young people are having less sex than they have had in the past. I would think this is good news for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/26 02:00 PM

Ugh, I think this attitude that men being promiscuous is okay but not for women goes way, way back. If you think about the story of the woman caught in adultery in the Gospels, the man involved was never mentioned. It is quite likely that the men who were going to stone her to death had raped her. They projected their own sexual sins on her and were now going to kill her. Sigh, as ridiculous as it is, this phenomenon is so persistent. We have barely gotten through the trial of the men who assaul…

This seems to be an irrational phenomenon that has afflicted men throughout time. I remember it being a theme in an All In the Family episode in the 1970s. Archie says the bit about men and women being different and Gloria asks "So who are the men supposed to be having sex with?". If men and women are different and men are more likely to be okay with being promiscuous then it seems society should be focused on curbing this behavior in men. Sigh.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/26 02:40 AM

Yeah. I'm confused by this too. Projection on the part of that poster? Maybe?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/26 02:20 AM

Data is showing that young people are way less promiscuous than they have been in the past; however, I'm confused as it seems men are way more into casual sex and more often push for it. You might be better preaching to men about avoiding sex outside of marriage. We occasionally have posts from men insisting women should have sex with them within the first few dates.

Huge kudos for being honest and not making getting a woman the center of your life. Although maybe we are the lucky ones in that we can envision a fulfilling life without a partner. I'm not sure how much I chose to be the way I am.

Well I was in a couple of relationships that didn't work out and tried going on dates but realized I was wasting my own time but also the time of these young men who were probably sincere in wanting a relationship and should look elsewhere. May your own way bring you much joy!

Well for me not dating was better. I did a bit when I was young but realized I was way better off single. As a MGTOW, I would think you and I are in the same club? . . . . . except as a couple of introvert, go-our-own-way types we probably don't want to be part of any club 😝

Not surprised. Impressed. That you haven't blown these women off because of their views but then if you find it is too hard you probably should blow them off. You sound like a really decent person.

No, I really think you have brought up a super good point and I'm impressed that you are maintaining the friendships. I'd argue (although no one is necessarily arguing with me) that the best way to combat misogyny/misandry is to be the best example of your gender that you can be. This is probably the least popular method too. I hope you have some good decent loving women in your life.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/26 02:04 AM

Well I'd be friends with you if we were around each other . . . hmmm . . . . this is a bit of an inane comment. Wish I could help.

It would be an interesting conversation to have with her. Some people seem to have been beaten as a child by someone who looked just like me. /r/PurplePillDebate07/02/26 08:49 PM

I can think of a few moments that were revealing of someone in a wider sense. Perhaps I hadn't noticed this before about the person or had glossed over other signs of who they were. Forgetting birthdays? No biggie to me.

It might be more "welcome to being old" but then again. I much prefer being an old woman rather than a young one. That was hard. I'm not looking for work though; that is always hard.

That was my response too. Just trying to imagine living in a world where I'm as strong as a man, can't get pregnant and there isn't negative social feedback about being sexually active. Even without a semi-guaranteed orgasm, I don't seem to have a good enough imagination to get into this scenario. It is probably easier for me to imagine just being a man but this is still pretty hard. I have listened to quite a bit of what men have to say about sex and believe their views and experiences (varied …

I'm not sure I trust the data, but apparently, in recent years, young people are less sexually active. Good news if sexual experience outside of marriage ruins an individual for a long term relationship.

Oh my gosh, my life has brought me into contact with some brilliant men. I adore them. However no matter how good a man is, it doesn't relieve me of my mental health issues and other assorted problems. I like to think I support men by staying the hell away from them romantically. Good to meet you twin. Keep on doing what you are doing. My one true complaint is that I don't have a cat.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 08:04 PM

Marriage was one of the few "careers" available to women and then they had babies and were stuck. Of course some women were fine in this situation and truly liked marriage, housekeeping and raising kids but it did snare a lot of women who weren't happy in this situation.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 08:00 PM
12

And probably even more so by lack of economic opportunities . . . .hmmmm . . .although we could probably say lack of economic opportunity forced marriage on women.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 07:05 PM
12

They could of course. I know I certainly could try to find a partner too but if you are happier alone and would not be a good partner then it is better to stay alone.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 06:53 PM
15

Why are happy cat ladies a bad thing? Even if they are unhappy with cats, that seems better than unhappy with a partner . . . . .hmmm . . . are you thinking they will be unhappy with cats but would have been happier with a partner? Some of us, just aren't ever going to be good partners and we do the world a favor by staying alone.

Nothing wrong with cat ladies. They may well be very happy.

Some of us here are old and are wondering about this train that is gone. Is this a bad thing?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 05:39 PM

That is a good point. I actually agree it is more economics than societal pressure as I stated above.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 05:36 PM
3

In western countries women do have agency for the most part. Of course there are small pockets where they don't. Historically, of course, women didn't have agency mostly for economic reasons. There are still societies in modern times where women don't get a choice or very little choice. It isn't about the man being attractive or not but laws, economics and good old fashioned force.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 05:31 PM
11

Ah good point. Ok_cook is mixing up polygamy with polyamory. I would argue the women's sexual preference probably matters very little in these cases. They are not polyamorous, nor monogamous, nor choosing polygamy; they are closer to sex slaves.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 04:44 PM
18

It is forced for women not for men. Men of course have a choice although they may be pressured also to marry.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 04:10 PM
8

That is how I see it too. Although without societal pressure for monogamy, I would think it would be men who would collect many sexual partners leaving some men without one partner. The FLDS come to mind or Afzal Khan who killed his 63 wives to prevent them from remarrying if he was killed himself in a upcoming battle.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/26 04:08 PM

That is kind of what I was thinking too but didn't want to say it.

I usually feel like it doesn't matter how much I care as it doesn't make much difference to most people. The men in my community and family are amazing. /r/PurplePillDebate15/01/26 02:49 PM

I've heard that people can learn to be empathetic. I would love to hear from someone who has tried to learn and what it was like. Are you yourself empathetic towards other men? Also, thinking of your post, do you care about men's problems specially ones that don't affect yourself personally? I'm not trying to be an ass. I really want to know. Please ignore if my inquiry is offensive.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/26 04:14 AM

" A big part of pleasure is psychological " This makes sense to me and is probably why women enjoy sex more in a committed and loving relationship. I've heard men do too but I'm a bit dubious about any general claim about sex as it is hard to measure this stuff.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/26 12:02 AM

I don't think there is any guarantee of pleasure for a woman with sex no matter who they choose. Of course some women are more likely to enjoy sex just because of how they are built. I understand that women, in general, enjoy sex within a LTR but I'm not sure of that claim. I don't understand where Chad or gaslighting comes into this? Women will likely be vilified for being promiscuous no matter who they have sex with. Also the way a man looks doesn't indicate whether he is dangerous or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/26 08:37 PM

For women sex isn't guaranteed pleasurable also it is super risky. On top of that society tends to vilify women who have sex. OP, I'm with you that it shouldn't be this way but it is and probably has been from a time before human history.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/26 02:58 PM
2

And these people from horrific backgrounds may well wind up being happy to be here too. On the other hand people can seem to have wonderful childhoods and hate that they were born. Sigh. We can't know completely in any one situation but there is one person for every unborn who knows the most about this baby's future environment.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/26 09:48 PM
12

I just don't see life as always good for humans. If that child doesn't have happy enthusiastic parents outside of the womb he/she may well choose not to be born. Of course they can't choose for themselves so it seems best the mom make the best decision she can. The more I see of life and death, I see life isn't always good and death isn't always bad.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/26 03:15 PM

Ugh. Yes. And sadly figuring out who would or wouldn't be a good partner is pretty tough. Sure there can be some signs but plenty of toxic, narcissistic, screwed up people can be charming and be fine. For awhile.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/26 01:13 AM

OP sounded like a man to me but you think OP is a woman?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/26 08:21 PM

Probably more likely to be assaulted in private by a date although I doubt it matters if the woman or man did the initial pursuit. Where you live probably has less to do with being called a "skank" or "whore". You gender inspires this reaction more than geography although geography could make a bit of difference.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/26 06:40 PM

Sadly for some women, it doesn't matter how much they are attracted to someone, they might not orgasm or it might even be painful. Hopefully this last is rare but exists.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/25 02:22 PM

I wouldn't say most young women. Casual sex for many women just isn't going to be pleasurable. Some women, of all ages, are in to casual sex. It is tough to know that the percentages are.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/12/25 03:02 AM

I hope you aren't harassed too often by women. Some people would find this traumatic.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/12/25 03:11 AM

".You're going to create loser men because you've lionized genitals, not behavior. " This is really sad and such a failure for young men. People often talk about how men need to have confidence. I look for competence. Just knowing how to do something useful: deal with money, not react to emotions, get a job, get a better job, pass a class, build a relationship, anything along those lines.

Hey Mr Mail, thanks so much for talking to me yesterday. I don't think I did a very good job explaining fractions vs rates to you but it did help me understand it a bit more and made me think which is why I like Reddit. Happy 3rd day of Christmas to you if you are into that kind of thing.

I was thinking the same although I have read that more women are bowing out of dating. I'm not sure that is true or not. We certainly seem to have lots of men and women who will just never be compatible.

It does kind of suck that we can't blame national crime on immigrants documented or not Also we all want our biases confirmed. It is just how we are as humans. We all do it. I don't care who you are or how well educated you are. It happens Think in averages not rates and that will help. Also give a quick read to the abstract of the paper. They state their findings pretty clearly.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/25 12:25 AM

The number is the same but the unit is a different population 1) citizens 2) documented immigrants 3)undocumented immigrants
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/25 12:21 AM
1

Of course not. In a rate the important point is what that 100,000 represents. If it is a fraction, it just represents the number in the whole. In the graph we are discussing, each bar represents a specific population of people: 1) citizens, 2) documented immigrants and 3) undocumented immigrants. Sure the number, 100,000 is the same but the description of each group of 100,000 is different. This is why you can't add the rates. We have a group with 185 violent offenders in 100,000 people. We have…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/25 12:18 AM
2

Sort of. if you were dealing with regular fractions you would be correct in how you figured this out. Rates are different. If you look at the "Abstract" in the paper it says: "We find that undocumented immigrants have substantially lower crime rates than native-born citizens and legal immigrants across a range of felony offenses. " If the researchers/authors treated the rates as a fractions, they would have come to the same conclusion as you did, immigrants commit more crimes; however rates can …
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/25 10:47 PM

Fractions are parts of a whole. Rates are a special type of fraction that compare different units. If you add the two numbers in the graph you wind up with a unit of 200,000 rather 100,000. It doesn't work.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/25 10:12 PM
1

We are dealing with rates rather than fractions. I think this is the confusion.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/25 10:06 PM

Ugh. Or just not understanding how rates work. Gah!
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/25 09:54 PM

There are lucky women who are into casual sex and it is easy for them to find partners. Some women don't enjoy casual sex and don't have partners. Not so fun for them. Also pretty easy for anyone, male or female, who has a low libido to be single as long as they are okay with solitude or have a good community and family.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/25 09:52 PM
3

So did you just add the rates of the documented and undocumented immigrants? You can do this but it would make it 281 violent crimes per 200,000 immigrant and then you are comparing rates with different base groups so it isn't comparable. You can combine the two groups, documented and undocumented immigrants. This would give you an average of the two groups crime rates (281 divided by 2 gives you 140.75). So the overall rate of violent crimes of immigrants is definitely lower in this study wheth…

Some don't and some who like sex can't possibly enjoy sex with strangers. There are women who are super lucky in that having sex with strangers is pleasant but there seems to be more men who enjoy this.

It looked life Fig 1 of the Texas Dept of Public Safety report had Natives committing violent crimes at a number of 213 and immigrants at 185 per 100,000 people. Where did you see the 281 number for immigrant?

Here is one such study: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7768760/ I think there are a lot like this but this is the first I found. Sadly this means the aggressive removal of undocumented folks is not going to drop our crime rate.

I think sex and children are way too important to put the responsibility on just one gender or even the majority of the responsibility on one gender. We all need to step up and do what we can to make our world better. This might mean avoiding sex, taking responsibility for your children, getting sterilized, having a child, not having a child, taking birth control, volunteering for birth control studies or whatever you can do. There is a lot an individual can't do because of gender, age, culture,…

"So you're saying that women have no agency when it comes to these things," No no I absolutely do think women have agency unless, as can happen to men too, they are raped. Women can, sometimes choose to have an abortion or go through with a pregnancy but they can't choose for a man to get a vasectomy; that is entirely up to the man. Biology is ultimately and deeply unfair.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/25 06:32 PM

Abortion is not something anyone wants to go through. Men will never have to go through an abortion nor childbirth. Women do not get to have a vasectomy. Biology is just not fair.

" women is that they are also the ones with the lions share responsibility of sex and who has access to reproduction." Societies have put the sexual responsibility on women for eons but this isn't right. I can see how this is an appealing narrative to men but men have choices too and can choose, chastity, monogamy, or not to take risks with fathering a child or STDs. Men can certainly consent (or not) to choices involving their bodies.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/25 03:13 PM

Ugh. If you read here, you probably realize most men don't go looking for sex thinking about the kind of parent they will be. Maybe more women do but even if they think they will be a good parent and try to pick someone who wants to be a Dad, it doesn't always turn out. It does seem like more young people are better with birth control or just getting sterilized. I want to think this coming generation is much more deliberate about having or not having children. Peace and healing to you.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/25 10:48 PM

I'm so sorry. Having a crap parent just sucks. What is your Dad like?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/25 10:21 PM

Some of us women are not a good option.

I would argue unpaid work of all kinds is part of life. Sadly many people bow out of this kind of work for whatever reason. Lots of paid work is pretty miserable too.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/12/25 05:16 PM

Yep, young children are full time work. And unpaid work at that.

YES! Thanks.

That is kind of what I thought. I'm not against this research but am more interested in an effective long term, reversible birth control is found for men. Prostrate cancer and societal violence also seem more mens issues that I would love to see progress (of course societal violence affects women too just more men). I'm sure I'm missing some men's issues here.

I wanted to know what your parents were like. Were you wanted and were they good parents? It can make all the difference for human development to have good parents. Yes there are a lot of people specially young people who don't care about the consequences. Of course once the suffering starts from past choices they may feel differently. Such is the human condition.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/25 03:28 AM

Good point.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/25 12:42 AM

Yep pretty liberal. There probably are liberals who vote against their best interests too but someone would probably have to start another subreddit for this.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/25 12:41 AM

Well there is the "Leopards ate my face" subreddit so people do seem to do this enough to inspire a subreddit. I think it has been around for awhile. We do want things in our best interest. Usually (-:

I'm old so remember people dying of aids. Also I remember women who didn't have access to birth control. If you were an unwanted and/or neglected child and it was fine, I want to hear about it. I do know this happens and people come out fine even when their parents had no interest in them after conception but this seems rare.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 07:50 PM
12

Both views are pretty understandable.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 07:27 PM

Pretty much. Lots of people whose bad opinion is kind of a compliment. Don't worry about these folks. OP sounds like he doesn't like women. I hope he stays away from them and finds peace and happiness on his own.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 02:35 AM

Sounds like they did a good job with you but man it must have been tough. Yep they got to have sex but then they had to get serious about being adults way way young. Best to all in your family.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/12/25 04:09 AM

I didn't either and don't regret it at all. STDs and unwanted kids are too often the consequence for being a sexually active teenager. I'll pass.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/25 07:21 PM
7

That looks like interest in the topic not actual evidence that it exists. "The male loneliness epidemic" appears to be a phrase coined in media rather than researched over a long period of time. I can't figure out how someone would measure loneliness. I'm not saying loneliness doesn't exist but I would think we would need a way to measure it and compare now to 50, 100, 200 years ago.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/12/25 10:57 PM

Huge kudos to you. Too often people take messed up people back into their lives thinking that the person has changed or that they can be fixed. Carry on good sir. You sound like a wise man.

From what the previous poster said it wasn't having sex that taught her what she needed to know about herself; it was a friend. Pretty much everyone heads into adulthood knowing little about life, themselves and reality. I think fondly back at the young men I knew and how we were all bumbling around trying to figure things out.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/25 03:09 PM

Irk. I'm so sorry that happened to you. Mostly sorry for your shame. I'm trying to get better myself in many areas and fail most of the time. Best to you.

Can you explain this more? I don't understand. How do women help men in a sexual context? I suppose they can be available to men who "have needs". Is this what you mean?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/11/25 08:51 PM
2

I suppose I could be one of those people for whom no one was good enough. When I was young I had this fantasy about a partner fixing me. This just isn't reality.

Winning, survival and replication have no interest to me . . . .although I suppose some less common definitions of winning may interest me. I just want to live with as much peace and joy as possible. Passing some of this on to others sounds good too.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/11/25 06:56 PM

Most human problems seem more chronic than crisis in nature. People just seemed to be messed up all the way back to time immemorial.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/25 03:09 AM
1

Yep lots of people whose views don't make a lot of sense to me. I don't think of people who get a lot of sex as successful. I try not to be judgmental but I know I am a bit. I'm dubious of large age gap relationships but there are some in which the couple live together happily until one dies so it can work out for good all round.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/25 03:02 AM
5

Whether someone is a loser or not depends on the individual making the judgement. Some people think someone having lots of sex is successful. Others see a long and loving marriage as success.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/11/25 03:57 PM

I would think that a lot of complaints against men or women is because they are young and immature rather than about gender. Sadly many serious relationships regardless of the individuals intentions are not happy.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/25 04:51 PM

Makes sense and even if you dodged a bullet, rejection just sucks.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/25 02:39 AM

"men will reject women or filter them out after sex not before, while women try to do it before." I kind of knew that but you put it in a way I never thought about. I actually read posts that seem to be human bullets waving their red flags and feel better about celibacy and loneliness. I'm guessing some men wouldn't necessarily feel better the way I do?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/25 02:17 AM

I would think ease of dating does depend on the individual. Some of us will never be good partners for a variety of reasons. Lots of people in their twenties are just figuring out life, themselves and reality. They may not even know who they are nor what they want.

Man, I'm 62 and being single is one of the best things in my life. I know it isn't for everyone but for me it is great. Lots of men as well as women who, just by who they are, make me happy to be alone.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 01:59 PM

Man oh man. We humans are screwed up and make bad choices. Just reality.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 01:51 PM

I'm confused by why you would be embarrassed by how this person lives their life? We sure seem to have a plethora of people throughout history who make odd choices or snatch failure from the jaws of victory or some such thing. It happens then and now. I hope you can spot such women and stay the heck away from them.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/25 02:17 AM

Consenting adults can do pretty much anything they want. Of course some people will decry immorality but people can do that too.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/10/25 03:51 PM

I have no idea. I'm guessing that the relationships fell apart and often neither person can do a damn thing about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/10/25 02:22 PM

That makes sense to me. These casual lovers are putting exactly as much effort into the partnership as the women. Zero. She isn't doing anything for them. Maybe this is the appeal? I've never heard women talk about this but I'm sure it happens. Women run the gamut. I have never had an interest in casual sex. No doubt there are men and women out there who feel as I do.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/10/25 01:55 PM

There are relatively few women on OLD sites so I don't understand how these businesses are ruining women when they don't attract that many women. I'm trying to think of organizations or businesses that attract women: knitting groups, spas, yoga classes, liberal arts colleges? I don't see how these groups would ruin women but they do seem to attract women.

Sure but I really haven't had anyone share much if anything about their abortion experience rationalizing or otherwise. It sounds like you are in the confidence of some women. I have never been in that position at least about abortion but I run with a pretty straight living crowd. It must be a mixed experience to have people confide something so personal to you.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/25 01:11 AM

I have never had someone say they had an abortion because they had plans next weekend. It seems an odd thing to do but our world is full of strange folks.

Ugh that is horrible. I don't know anyone who has done that. I'm sorry that you do. Although such a person probably would be a horrible parent. I hope you advised her to get on birth control or get sterilized if that was at all appropriate to say. "So your position is that infanticide was morally right then? " No no, my position is that we are so darn lucky to live when and where we live. Having to make a choice between watching a child die an agonizing death or kill him yourself must have been so horrible and for most of human existence this is what people faced. Of course there probably are areas where this is reality but I'm not around such communities.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/25 10:25 PM
2

Yes. And looking at past cultures where abortion was not possible, infanticide was often practiced. Horrific to modern eyes but then we haven't had to watch infants starve to death. Ugh. We are so damn lucky for the most part.

I find that encouraging. Thanks.

Women do seem to be thinking through their choices and deciding it is better not to have children. Even with the welfare we have now. Everyone has more information available so can make more informed choices. It isn't really surprising that our birthrate is dropping. This seems to be a responsible choice given the cost of living. Our economy was very different in the 1940s and 50s. People could afford to live on one income.

If there are few to no kids then no one will be forced to pay for them not men, nor women nor government. Yes some of the infrastructure will be shut down. I believe some schools are closing already. It will indeed reshape society but society has reshaped itself often in response to changes. I've explained myself badly if you think I'm okay with elderly dyeing on the street. But you have said you don't want men nor government supporting children so women not having kids and staying in the workforce could be a good thing. Women in the workforce will also pay more taxes. Of course in the long run we have a dropping and aging population. The aging population will be an issue for a relatively short time. We have had a way lower population in the recent past and it wasn't bad. Of course none of this makes dating easier for men but maybe ease of dating for men is not as b…
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/25 07:21 PM
1

From this point of view then it is a happy thing that so many women are bowing out of having children. I am not aware that welfare has ever been generous and enforcement of child support seems pretty sketchy too. Maybe this is why so many women are bowing out of dating and sex as well. This seems to be happening all over the world. As you pointed out, government and men not having to support kids is probably more good than bad.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/25 05:32 PM
1

That sounds logical. Marriage, sex and children is so often not a good deal for women so there isn't enough incentive for women to do it. Even receiving welfare probably isn't going to make women want to have sex and children. It is a bit of a safety net for the kids but not enough.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/25 04:51 PM
1

It seems like the "why" is important if we want to figure out how to reverse this choice that more and more women are making. Of course some women should stay single as they wouldn't ever be good partners.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/25 04:33 PM

"Cool let's see how they like it when it's their money being redistributed to men instead of the other way around. " Apologies. I thought we were discussing why it might be better for women to choose poverty or pay to stay single?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/25 04:19 PM
1

No no. What I said is all true. For landlords there is a phrase "cash for keys"; it means getting rid of a bad tenant is worth the money. This seems true in relationships. You can find data on single dads and how many more are in the US now as compared to the 1950s. Of course they were super rare in the 1950s. There is a woman who started a blog called "One Mom's Battle". She married a guy from a good family with a college education. It turned out he was a narcissist, bad with money and didn't c…

"Cool let's see how they like it when it's their money being redistributed to men instead of the other way around. " That is what I'm saying; women may well prefer to pay men to stay away even more so if the man is abusive to the children. Given the risks men can be to women and children, I can see many women going to extremes to protect themselves and their kids. Women certainly have choosen poverty over a terrible relationship. This seems like a rational decision to me. Two healthy functional …
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/25 03:23 PM

Well that is an interesting idea. And probably many women would pay big bucks to stay single. I suppose it is a reality that men will pay for sex so maybe women will pay not to have sex? I am less concerned about adults and dating and more concerned about children having what they need to grow to be functioning adults.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/25 03:01 PM
2

I'd argue young people getting into relationships are not thinking about tax burdens. I suppose this could be taught in school but schools already have a lot to teach. I might be confused here but is it just single women who should pay more taxes or single men too?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/25 01:54 PM
2

I'm in the US and more and more women are bowing out of relationships and childbearing altogether. From what I understand sterilization is at an all time high. I suppose society or government could study why this is happening and try to encourage this trend? Women (maybe men too) in South Korea are even less likely to marry and have families than in the US. What actions do you want to see your country take to discourage single parent families?

"As it stands a woman has no incentive to not just leave the father and have daddy government take his money and give it to her." I don't know anyone who wanted to be a single parent. I'm a bit confused by your story although it sounds like this woman isn't worth having in your life. What is a "tüv"?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/25 03:11 AM

I don't know if you were responding to me but now I'm not so sure if support for children should come from all of us or just the parents. Happy, healthy children are such a benefit to society in the long run that we should all probably contribute. Maybe our society should be more like some Native American ones where children are raised by mothers and maternal uncles?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/25 01:19 AM
3

I would think there are plenty of incentives for a two parent household and most people probably start out wanting that; however, if one parent is such a burden that they pull the family down, then one parent it is. I think potential mothers are the only one that should make the decision if the child is coming into an okay situation. They are the ones that know the best. Too many people will never heal from the trauma of childhood. Of course some people manage to rise above a horrific upbringing…

"Id rather they get money from their father than the taxpayer." I would too. Two functioning parents are better than one but things happen: people die, develop mental illness, abandon the family for whatever reason or the family is better off without one of the parents for some dysfunction. "While that may be true, you can't make that decision for them. " Exactly!! The potential mother is the one who knows the best the situation the child will enter.

Families with an absent parent often struggle so putting more tax burden on them will put a greater financial burden on them that will affect kids. Also if one parent is abusive I want the other parent and kids to be able to leave as quickly as possible. My view on abortion is probably controversial as I don't think it is always a good thing to be born. Many situations are not a good place for a child. Abortion may indeed be something that child would choose other than having to endure horrific …

Some of these just seem like punishment for children or punishing a woman for a man bailing out. Also I don't really get why you want to keep women off of dating apps. They mostly seem to avoid them as aren't there way more men on these apps. Falsifying paternity does seem like it could have laws around it but how do you not punish the children in this situation?

It took me getting older and the advent of the internet to get me to empathize with men. When I was young, I was struggling so much with my own problems that I didn't have the bandwidth to offer compassion to many others. Also pre-internet, the men's voices that I had access to were privileged men not more average or disadvantaged men. It took me way too long to realize that our world has been a man's world for millennium but it has never been every man's world.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/25 05:26 PM

Oh no, I look for the most recent but I do tend to think society will evolve in ways we can't imagine. Adult children may follow or react to parents or do something completely different than we can imagine.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/25 03:41 PM
2

I suppose that is possible but I think we need a source that has tracked how much parents influence their kids versus outside influences. Kids may have very anti-feminist parents but adopt less conservative values because outside influences. Adult children seem to go no-contact with both liberal and conservative parents . . . . hmmm . . . . your question makes me curious and gets me looking up information. Thanks.

I suppose it might be harder for an attractive woman to avoid people she doesn't like as she will be pursued more than unattractive people but she can still say, "No", get up and leave, use the block feature on her phone. Anyone can take these actions.

Yes a lot of them do choose men who turn abusive. One Redditor said she chose her husband because he felt like home. Only later did she realize that home had never been a safe place. Young people understandably go for attraction. It is hard or impossible to see beyond that. Also many abusive/criminal people are good at hiding their true selves.

That is what I thought you were saying. And yes we still seem to be figuring out the Nature/Nurture question . . . .hmmm . . . no end in sight on that one.

I didn't read u/BobtheArcher2018 's to mean "Women are angels". He just seemed to be stating that women take a lot of risks in a heterosexual relationships. It can be super "expensive" for women to have sex. It is biology not men that make it this way.

Sadly even if you find the ideal partner who is willing to be the breadwinner while you stay home with the kids, crap happens. She loses her job, gets really sick, dies or abandons you for someone else. It does suck. Lots of single parents had something crappy happened to destroy the two parent family they probably wanted. Best scenario is both parents can flex to be the breadwinner or the caretaker for kids.

One Mom's Battle is about divorcing and coparenting with a narcissist. From her description it was a nightmare. I never married nor had kids. I follow the forever alone subreddit and just think being single your entire life is not the worst thing that can happen to you.

"Having babies with a person who is unfit is nothing but a lifetime headache, should be avoided at all cost." Oh man, you said a mouthful there! I hope you don't know this from personal experience. Fewer people and more people with less wounds, anger and greed sounds good to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/09/25 01:41 AM

I haven't thought of that in awhile all I can remember is eros, and something philia. In our western culture people talk about marrying for love but it seems more often it is marrying for attraction/lust.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/25 01:42 PM

I'm sure some people somewhere threaten this but most people just seem to be stumbling along trying to get along with others and failing as well as figure out finances, why the lawn mower won't start and how to eat better and get more exercise. They aren't thinking about others getting married or not. Maybe I'm naive here.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/25 08:37 PM

That women don't want to marry doesn't mean that they aren't interested in love . . . . hmmm . . . . I guess you mean romantic/sexual love? I feel like I've had tons of love and relationships in my life but I've never married. These are all the heart of my life and of number one importance. We really need more words for love.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/25 08:35 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/25 12:52 AM

Absolutely. Vaccines have become more controversial of late but it is fairly good way to expose babies' immune systems to potential viral invaders. Also that they need human touch seems to be pretty well accepted now.

Here is an article on the importance of touch. I don't think it says the babies will die without it but it does describe why cuddling kids is so important. I just skimmed the intro and it is pretty readable. Some of these articles are beyond my reading level. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7502223/ Absolutely no offense taken because you asked for a source. I don't think this is what he is asking as we were discussing the importance of touch for babies. Yes. You may know that when germ theory was first developed sick babies would be isolated and not touched. The idea was that this protected them from germs. Every single one of those babies died. Babies and kids need touch or they will die. Now parents are encouraged to practice skin on skin touch with their kids I was a stay at home aunt with my nephews. Well I would think men have sex with friends too. Isn't that the Friends with Benefits thingy. I suppose homosexual people have sex with friends too. I was listening to a podcast by old gay guys and one of them was joking, "It has gotten so boring around here that we are even having sex with our freinds" It made me laugh. I agree with the gamble part of relationships. We often hear "choose better" but so much is impossible to known until it happens. "The way they put it made it seem that until he demonstrated and proved the qualities she wanted, he would not get the loving partner he deserved. So what was he dealing with up until that point, a mildly agreeable partner he deserved?" Yes! Some people show their true selves in a short period, weeks or months. Others it is almost impossible to know much. It is kind of something to see the Cardinal say, "everyone out" as he closes the door to the conclave and only men choose the next pope. I'm in the US and our culture would rather have a felon than a woman. Theoretically we could have any adult be president but reality is pretty exclusionary.

I'm old and wanted some man to just fix me. I don't think wanting a non realistic, fantasy partner is anything new. It took me awhile to realize how reality works. Growing up is hard and reality is tough to get your mind around. Some people will figure it out and some won't.

I get it. Vaccines and many medical procedures have risks. No one wants these risks even less living with one of the rare consequences but these are the type of decisions we need to make as adults. Women have to make similar decisions about risks. Having a kid you don't want might not make you suicidal but the kid might wind up being suicidal. Not kind to bring a kid into this situation. Kind of changing the subject here but I so hope I see a long term, reversible birth control developed for men…

No worries. You don't need to explain. No reason you have to explain but I can still ask. No rule against asking. If you like closed forums more maybe you shouldn't be here? Also you can block me too if you find my question offensive.

Okay. I'm on this board as I want to understand. It seems like anyone can bow out of having children at any age. Maybe someone else will come along who will explain?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/25 04:17 PM

So can you explain please?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/25 04:07 PM

I don't understand. Are these men being sexually assaulted or don't have access to condoms and/or vasectomies?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/25 04:03 PM

I figure we are all here because some ancestor sold her body to feed her children. Such is the world. I don't like sex work but it is often the most lucrative thing a woman can do. Happily women can now do a lot of different work but sex work might be the easiest all though very dangerous work to get into. Also so many men crave sex but aren't really capable of being a romantic partner so I appreciate women who are willing to fill this need. I certainly don't want to. At least OF is safer. Edit:…

Ugh. Humans are pretty dang flawed whether they fall within OPs description or for other reasons.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/25 12:21 PM

Absolutely but humans tend to be dicks often for a variety of reasons.

I was young in the 80s and 90s. I probably had contact with 1000s of young men. Social media may have increased the people with whom you can interact but there was still a lot of choice back then. It was probably harder for women to break into high paying jobs and I remember women friends feeling pressured to marry. This may have changed somewhat although certain religions pressure people to marry.

Yep, and we all suffer even CEOs, politicians and lawmakers.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/25 04:59 PM

This makes sense to me. I didn't even want to watch the video. Ugh.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/25 03:21 AM

Oh thanks. I've never heard this but I have heard about more men being zillionairs and homeless. I kind of figured this out myself although I was less thinking of outliers or men on the extremes and rather just normal guys going on with their lives.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/25 05:31 PM

Yes. It has long been a man's world but it has never been every man's world.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/25 04:03 PM

I'm about the same. Mostly I'm so focused on myself and my own life that I don't notice people that much. I will notice clothes sometimes but mostly women's clothes. I can imagine being appalled by something that looks contagious but I never have. Even homeless, disheveled people don't disgust me. I was on a light rail and some guy who seemed on drugs or mentally ill was kicking up a fuss. It was a bit scary buy not disgusting.

I don't think all cops are bad but they do seem to have higher rates of abuse. Of course it is worth questioning the statistics as they can be misleading but it may be true that rates of abuse are higher with cops and military people.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/25 04:16 PM

Thanks so much for saying this. It is so true. There is nothing wrong with being a virgin. Many fine amazing people go through their lives without having sex. It does NOT make them bad people. Good Gawd Almighty. Where the heck do these ideas come from.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/25 02:41 AM

From what I understand the kids part completely changes life. Sleep goes out the window for awhile so no surprise is sex does too.

I'm with you on this. OP and anyone else, I hope you can stay away from delusional, unattractive and dumb women. There certainly are individuals of all genders who make being single and celibate attractive. We are all lucky that we all can stay out of relationships when the opportunities are not good. Edit: wording.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/25 01:13 PM
11

Oh man, I sure can relate to this and I'm a woman. Ugh.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/25 02:37 PM

Your flair gave me a giggle. I have my own (non-colored) pill that does help but will never make me into good partner material.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/25 11:33 PM

I got so much attention when I was young so I suppose that is a kind of power but I wanted to live a good life, work, be a good person. Being able to attract men didn't really help me in any of these things that I could tell. I do appreciate that as a small white woman, no one is afraid of me which is nice.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 10:38 PM
7

I was an attractive young woman and am now an invisible old lady. I wouldn't go back for all the money in the world. Being young and attractive was definitely a power but it was a power to do nothing worth doing. (at least for me).
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 08:52 PM
1

Well young people do stupid stuff male or female. I didn't get to bow out of being immature. I did learn and figured out that I was better alone. I tend to think I'm doing a favor to some man for whom I would have made a piss poor partner. If you managed to be a wise young person who didn't make bad choices more power to you. My twenties were miserable. I wouldn't redo them for all the money in the world. Happily fewer and fewer women need a man as a provider. I hope you two manage to stay singl…

For some of us solitude is the reward for making good choices. It isn't for everyone but for some of us it is a good thing. The celibacy that comes with it is also good.

On a happy note more and more women are avoiding marriage and children so it seems they are figuring it out.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/25 01:01 PM
2

Yes. I've read that. It kind of sucks. I want to think things are changing but maybe not. I would argue a good marriage is good for women but sadly many marriages don't really benefit women. Ugh. Shout out to all and any of you men showing up and being a good partner!
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/25 11:40 PM
8

I've speculated that people who don't marry may die sooner not because being single is unhealthy but they have habits or characteristics that make them incapable of a LTR and these habits may in and of themselves be unhealthy. I'm not sure this is true as there is some evidence that single women live longer than married women.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/25 07:47 PM
2

Well if you don't like emotionally available men, then stay away from them. The men in my family are watering pots so I've always seen crying as masculine. You can have all the cold non-feeling guys. I will take the others.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/25 12:09 AM

Probably a pretty small percentage. Of course some would have gone undetected so we don't know. I'm pretty amazed that people would take to such subterfuge to fight in a war. Of course kids lied about their age to get into the military. I tend to think these young ones had a glamorized idea about what being a soldier was like. Ugh. James Barry is an interesting example of a woman joining the military. You have me wondering when women were first allowed in the military in the US? How many women a…
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/25 07:09 PM

I don't know if the low number is because we are in the infancy of allowing women in the military or the military itself is a danger to women or maybe, as you say, women don't want to join the military. Interesting situation.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/25 06:51 PM
7

In the US past, if women wanted to join the military, they had to disguise themselves as men. Women don't have to do that now but sadly one of the biggest dangers to women in the military is their fellow soldiers. Ugh.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/25 02:39 PM

Ah thanks. Since the internet developed, I have had way more access to men's experience. It has taken awhile for me to get some of the issues but I understand so much more about men than I did 40 years ago. I hope I can keep a sense of compassion as well as curiosity. Thanks again for your kind comment.

I don't feel badly for men who can't get laid but I do feel badly for men (women too) who have a raging libido and no immediate route to relief. I don't want to demonize high libido nor anyone's sexuality but I do wonder why we don't have a medical way to relieve this suffering. Of course pharmaceuticals wouldn't be as good as a healthy relationship with a decent partner but so many people aren't capable of being a good partner. Ugh. Courage to all you who suffer.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/25 02:28 AM
31

I do care in a way but this "caring" is more disgust with people whose main problem is "getting laid". Come on people. There are bigger problems in the world. OP please if "getting laid" is your and your friend's goals, please get the HPV vaccine, take precautions and think about what you will do if you impregnate someone. Specially think about if you impregnate someone who is not capable of being a decent parent. These last issues I care about deeply.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/25 09:04 PM

It isn't no woman cares as much as most women don't have the bandwidth to think about it. Like most people, women are struggling with work, money, family, health and a myriad of other problems. That some (or most) men are not getting laid is probably good in terms of less unwanted pregnancies and less STDs being passed around. Some religions even promote celibacy as good for spiritual development. I don't necessarily believe this but celibacy isn't all bad. That all being said, many people suffe…

I was thinking that too. I'm 62, not looking so good, never had a husband nor kids and things are pretty good.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/25 01:10 AM

I think it goes back to Oscar Wilde who was put in prison and exiled for being Gay. More recently, Alan Turning was prosecuted. He wound up committing suicide. There were just too many risks for men who were gay so men avoided even platonic affection. Now you have me wondering if lesbians were ever persecuted?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/25 12:31 PM

This is reasonable and well written. Thanks. I specially agree with: Most women (actually most people) I've met are insecure as fuck, riddled with self doubt, and shame. With other people, I often feel I can make things worse or just leave them alone and work on my own "insecure as fuck, riddled self doubt, and shame." psyche.

Heya OP, do what you need to do whether you are shamed or not. Unfortunately many many people have been shamed and harassed for doing the right thing. I'm not saying being shamed means you are doing the right thing; I just want you to have the courage of your convictions like many who have gone before you.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/25 07:37 PM

Sadly there are too many people who will only learn through experience. Telling them how lonely it can be with a partner just won't get through.

This is just me but I prefer to be a good person rather than get laid, get money or impress people but that is just how I want to live my life. Of course I see lots of people choosing differently but we humans sure run the gamut and have free will.

So many women are whacko that you might consider being rejected by them as a compliment. Also attraction can be so shallow: looks, scent, fit family of origin dysfunction. I hope you strive to be a good person with or without a partner.

I see more people complaining on line than claiming to be happy. We humans do tend towards whiney. I'm 62 never married. Quit dating in my 20s. I wouldn't necessarily call myself happy but my life is so ding dang dad blasted better than it was in my 20s that it might come close to happiness. To be fair my misery in my 20s had little to nothing to do with men nor dating. I don't expect to ever be romantically involved with a man again but I do have wonderful men in my life. This is a great observation and also a reason to stay out of marriage and maybe even dating until you are older. As an over 25 or over 30 woman dating, there will be a self selecting system in place as men who are into really young women won't be interested.

I'm sure someone somewhere has done this and apparently OP knows someone like this but I'm with you, I don't know anyone like this and wouldn't want to. Ugh. I do know relationships that didn't work out but the individuals seemed happy at the time.

The idea does give me a giggle. I'm not too interesting in other's sex lives so I will never know for sure and I am grateful if they are into casual sex, they have never shared this with me. May it continue this way.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/25 09:41 PM

I tend to think there is only one toxic person I should be concerned with and that is myself. We may disagree on who is and isn't toxic. I'm a believer that the line between toxic and not toxic goes right down the center of every one of us. The person we can most change is ourselves. Perhaps your experience is different and you feel you have been able to make a profound change in another person. I haven't ever done this as far as I know.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/25 02:05 PM

I don't know if there is any thing men can do as a whole to obtain something from women although PUA are probably trying to do that. Some women probably have libidos equal or greater than men. I have amazing men in my circle. I will do almost anything for these guys as they are such wonderful people people. Sex doesn't come into the equation as none of us are into casual sex as far as I know.

I'm not convinced that dating wasn't always a disaster for a lot of people. As far as toxic women, I doubt they are doing any more damage than toxic men. Toxic people suck . . . . er . . .I'm kind of stating the obvious here. I don't think this has changed much over the millennium. I don't know how average I am but I don't really feel trapped and powerless at least around dating. It sounds like the situation just changed via talking from a "guy you like" to a "guy you don't like". Some men seem to be encouraging celibacy in women by means of conversation. It happens.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/25 06:57 PM

Yes. Some people are better than others at pretending to be someone different than they really are. It is why it is often best to spend time with them before going very far in the relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/25 05:46 PM

"When a man tries to brag about his sexual prowess, dating success, how many women want him or how busy he is going on dates/spinning plates," I would appreciate that such a guy is honest about who is and if this is what he wants in life it is better he is straight forward so we both don't waste our time.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/25 05:44 PM

"Talking to people in public is predation and manipulation…? " Of course it can be or it can be just small talk. I like to talk to stranger myself just because I find people interesting but I'm not trying to escalate nor "segue into dating or sex".

That is a good point. When a man comes across like a salesman, it isn't a good thing.

I would expect/hope that if this guy just wants sex he won't continue pretending he wants to be friends. For me, a man can be massively attractive but has different values than I have and consequently is not partner material.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/25 03:22 PM
2

Sure, some people like this. Some are probably bots. "A lot" of likes is pretty relative since there are so many people on social media. I stay as far away from this kind of stuff as I can. Lots of toxic, horrible people out there who fall for this kind of stuff. Rage bait sells too.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/25 08:59 PM

Yes I know many people think the way you describe. It sounds like Kohlberg's lowest stage of moral development. However people often have higher levels of moral development and consequently different motivation for what they do. I tend to see shame as more destructive but then maybe it is shame that keeps you trying to be better? Can you describe a time shame made you take a higher road?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/25 01:58 PM
1

It is only moral to stick to your own side of the street in regards to sexual actions. Shaming others is a moral failing of most humans. The "woman caught in adultery" comes to mind. Thinking of others sex lives is a type of self created pornography. Stay away from that sort of thing
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/25 03:35 AM
2

Well may you cling to your own chastity no matter what society and/or biology opines. Don't let common societal views, nor some anonymous woman dictate how you live your life. The best point to fight moral degeneracy is in yourself and how you live your life. Whether this fight is easy or hard for you, I wish you success.

"The reason why purity was more values in women is because they have easier access to sex. Its why society is disgusted by promiscuous women, and by virgin men. " Yes I know this type of thinking is common and I see it as immoral. /r/PurplePillDebate15/02/25 06:41 PM

Irk. I appear to have a different definition of long term than you do. I meant a birthcontrol where the user only has to do something once and they are good for a few years like an IUD or an implant. Condoms and the pill rely on the user doing something everyday or at every sexual encounter. These methods wind up being more vulnerable to human error.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/25 06:39 PM
6

I would argue that biggest indicator of sexual degeneracy is that women alone are expected to uphold sexual morality. This expectation is a human phenomenon that crosses history and culture. It is just one of the baser elements of human nature Sigh. I think it is an improvement that Tenant of Wildfel hall is no longer suppressed
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/25 02:43 PM

Of course but this isn't a long term option like women have.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/25 02:39 PM

It always seems best to deal with the problem upstream. We need reliable, long-term, temporary birth control for men so men can take responsibility for their own fertility and not rely on women for this important, life changing issue.

"that had more to do with the fact that there was more talented with a sniper, smaller and eat less than men so they could hide in tighter crevices for longer durations" Interesting. I did not know that.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/25 12:58 AM
1

Hmmm . . . better yet, become your own type of good man/woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/25 12:56 AM
1

Funny after I wrote that, I started reading about the Heaven's Gate folks. Man oh man we all have some kind of interior Siren Call but some of us have it worse than others. Ugh.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/25 12:54 AM
8

Sometimes the Siren Call is coming from inside.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/01/25 01:12 AM
3

I'm so sorry. This must really suck for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/25 09:45 PM
1

She sounds a bit like an outlier. If there were more women like her then the ratio of men to women on dating apps would be more equal.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/25 01:12 PM
1

Thanks.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/25 04:09 AM
2

Irk I hear that, even though I know it was best for all involved to go our separate ways. May you find someone with whom you can build something good.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/25 04:03 AM
1

Well, sometimes we get to learn what we want and don't want as we go through a relationship so I hope you have gained some wisdom and self awareness with each one. I sure did myself along the way. Some of it sure wasn't fun.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/25 03:47 AM
2

Did the last one turn out to be the one?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/25 03:37 AM
1

Well, there always must be someone no matter how likely or not who reacts like that. I hope her initial enthusiasm continued and she found someone who brought her long term joy.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/25 02:21 AM
4

That sounds about right. I would think any person, man or woman, who worries you will cheat is probably more likely to cheat.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/25 11:16 PM
1

Ugh. I wasn't even thinking about that.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/25 11:09 PM
12

Yeah, that is what I was thinking too. Although to be fair, men and women's experience around romance/sex/dating is so different that it is difficult to understand.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/25 08:16 PM
7

May you continue to enjoy enlightenment by your own profile!
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/25 08:13 PM

It just seems like a semi-predatory business. Maybe some are better than others but that whole Ashley-Madison situation was eye opening. I'd question that 40/60 ratio.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/25 07:38 PM
12

I'm thinking that ratio is rounded to make it look like there are more women. Ugh. I still remember the whole Ashley-Madison fiasco. These apps just seem to prey on lonely men. It pisses me off.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/25 07:28 PM
37

I've never heard of a woman being euphoric upon getting onto a dating app.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/25 07:26 PM
0

Yes. Yes they are. As well as men who realize they will not be good role-model/parents and choose either celibacy or sterilization.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/25 07:16 PM
9

I would disagree about the male role model but I have a foster brother who has said my Dad showed him how to be a man. Foster brother's bio dad was a drunk and couldn't show up. You do seem right. I want to be able to help/support boys and young men but it really has to be a man on many occasion. Huge shout out to all men modeling good male roles!
/r/PurplePillDebate16/01/25 05:15 PM
3

Interesting. Thanks for your response.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/25 11:39 PM

Heya OP, could you describe specifically how your shame or lack-there-of has improved or worsened your dating?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/25 07:55 PM
1

Heya, what do you mean here, "if one hates men based I stand more chance with her if I go along with it."?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/25 04:41 PM
5

Unless an individual is imprisoned by someone, it seems like the benefits and power aren't exclusive to any one gender or individual.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/25 03:05 PM
3

I hope you have a good supportive family too.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/25 04:28 AM
11

I absolutely wouldn't shame him but I wouldn't want to be around him either. I get having base desires; it just isn't something I let run my life. Sure he could hire a sex worker.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/25 12:06 AM
25

Ugh. Yes. I try to stay away from people whose main focus in life is sex. This guy has such a short time left and this is what he wants??! Ugh. I probably have a lot more than 13 days left in my life and I still wouldn't want to spend any of my time with someone like this.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/25 06:16 PM

I'd be curious why he acted like that then and why he acts differently with me. If he explained that he wasn't all that into me, I probably wouldn't want to be with him. If he had learned, changed and grown then that would seem like a good thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/25 08:19 PM
1

I was thinking that about being on your best behavior dating while I was responding to your post. Most of us try to be polite and make a good impression. Of course we are all complex animals and some causes of future relational problems the individual doesn't know themselves. I was and still am like this.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/25 09:46 PM
2

I mostly agree with you. Also a bit of luck to be a person who makes a good partner. You can only put on a act to "get" someone for so long before the truth comes out.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/25 09:05 PM
14

"she normally tells me to fuck off." This gave me a giggle. May you have many happy years
/r/PurplePillDebate01/01/25 09:25 PM

Oh man, I have only seen WSS once decades ago. Someone here has to appreciate your reference!
/r/PurplePillDebate01/01/25 04:19 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate01/01/25 02:11 AM
3

Ah. I'm an olds too!
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/24 09:35 PM
3

Language changes with time. Didn't "social disease" use to be a thing too?
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/24 08:39 PM
2

Yes alcoholics and drug addicts are often self medicating mental health issues. I'm super lucky that the first SSRI I tried worked for me. Exercise and staying involved in my community helps too. There are people with treatment resistant conditions. They are living on hard mode for sure. I didn't ever get into Anime but I have been watching lots of Ted Lasso lately. It might not be your thing but it makes me laugh and I like the characters.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/24 01:46 AM
2

Yes, some mental health is genetic. I don't know for sure if mine is but I look like the side of the family who has a history of suicide and alcohol abuse. I have struggled all my life with depression and quit drinking 6 years ago. I wouldn't want to pass this on to anyone. This is probably an unpopular opinion but I don't think it is necessarily a good thing to be born. I have lived the best life I could but I wouldn't choose for someone else to have a similar experience to mine. Similarly kids…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/24 01:02 AM
2

She sounds like a bit of a piece of work although many people have damn good reasons to be a mess. Yeah fostering broken kids is a bit like housing your lady friend. There is often so so little you can do to help. They are so broken. Nothing hugely wrong with my genetics just garden variety depression and a tendency towards depression. I'd rather not pass it on and at this point there is no danger of that. Thanks so much for your kindness here.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/24 12:40 AM
2

She doesn't sound very functional. I'm sorry you were ever involved with her but life is all about learning by doing. I do understand that most people want to have their own children or adopt infants. People who foster and adopt older children are certainly unicorns. My parents fostered some kids and it was tough. Congrats on having the type of genetics worth passing on. I have made sure not to pass mine on as I have some genetic problems.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 03:22 PM
1

Oh my, no wonder you are cautious of woman. That must have been very traumatic. Some parents are bad enough that kids are better off with the more functional parent. Although, of course, two functional parents is better. How do you plan on having kids sans mother? If you will foster, may all the Gods bless and protect you that is tough stuff from what I have seen.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 01:54 PM
1

Well covid did in a few of the older folks. Maybe we will get another pandemic that hits the old people. Some of them seem to be getting on the anti-vax train and there is the possibility bird flu will cross with human flu in the near future. There was a monk in, I think, Greece who never met a woman in his entire life. You probably don't have a vocation for contemplative life which is kind of a shame. Yep, if you want to make new little people, you are a bit in a bind without women. Do you like…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 03:24 AM
1

Confused here. What don't you get?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 02:50 PM
0

I am thinking of countries whose governments make separation of men and women the law. Maybe they have a point. I hope you build a decent life for yourself separate from women.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 02:31 PM
3

Ugh, I'm so sorry that this has been your experience. That is horrific. I hope you can avoid women. As far as making new people, the world will probably be fine with fewer people. Our aging population and economy not so much but it might be worth the price. Many people do seem to be choosing celibacy. Of course for some this is miserable but it may be better than the alternative.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 02:28 PM
0

Probably good for women who are too centered on men too. Maybe fewer women center themselves around men? I don't really know. It doesn't seem to be a good thing either way.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 03:57 AM
7

"It's probably best to decanter women you find attractive," This is a super good point.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 03:56 AM
1

Sounds like it is in your best interest to avoid women.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/24 03:20 AM
8

Attractive people probably have an easier time getting into a relationship but I agree with you, they aren't any more likely to find a successful relationship. They actually might attract someone with shallow values and an inability to be a good partner or just be a crappy partner themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/24 08:05 PM

I don't see how human reproduction can be fair. Biologically it takes so much more from a mother and nothing from the father. Furthermore raising human young to adulthood requires so dang many resources that it isn't practical for many couples and almost impossible for a single person without support.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/24 04:19 PM
2

Not slavery but I would think black men would be pretty cautious of white women because they can make false accusations (thinking the Bird man and the lady with the dog) . . . hmmm . . .all men should be cautious of this maybe black men more so. Such false accusations may be rare but there are some horrible people out there and can happen. Be careful out there all.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/24 02:42 PM
6

You didn't ask me but I would see his changed behavior as an improvement. Carelessly spending money to "spoil" a woman sounds more immature and irresponsible than like a desirable trait. That being said, I don't doubt there are women out there that would prefer this kind of behavior. I'm just not one of them.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 03:20 PM

We are all so different and complicated. It is hard to make sweeping generalization. The only one I tend to make is that usually life gets hard at some point and there are also people irregardless of gender, where life is mostly hard.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 12:58 AM

And getting abusive if you aren't into casual sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 12:37 AM

Good way to put it. The grass looks greener but it is more a choice of drowning or dying of thirst. Not fun in either camp
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/24 12:36 AM

Yes, it is an entirely different thing for women. Specially on dating apps as they are mostly men. Unfortunately there are a lot of reasons women stay off those.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/24 09:17 PM

Sounds like her Dad was wonderful but it is still a sacrifice. I took care of my Dad during covid. He is a great guy but I never had kids. I don't think I would be a good partner and wouldn't want to be a single parent.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/24 03:25 PM
3

That makes sense. There are indeed lots of reasons not to marry nor have kids. It seems like more people are making the choice not to.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/24 03:23 PM
1

Why did caring for your Dad solidify your choice to not marry nor have kids?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/24 01:09 PM
2

May you find her and have wonderful babies!
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/24 03:03 AM
2

Good on her for taking responsibility. I'm with you on not wanting to unnecessarily increase the population specially if the kid is not wanted by one or both of the parents. Sadly taking responsibly is something many humans don't want to do.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/24 02:32 PM

In the US many states have made abortion illegal. I'm not sure about other countries. Theoretically a woman can get an abortion but legally she may not be able to.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/24 03:54 AM
4

Yes, as a vasectomy isn't absolutely reversible, that is why there should be a long term reversible birth control developed for men so they don't have to rely on women. May you and this woman have many happy years ahead of you.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/24 03:50 AM
5

Well said although I would like to have more people advocating for long term, reversible birth control for men. I want men to have more options around their fertility.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/24 03:10 AM

I saw that that was what OP posted about too. I'm a bit dubious about her/him. Possibly a troll?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/24 04:32 PM
2

Sadly that sense of the word is no longer with us and the word has a very negative connotation. Even if money isn't involved "whore" is a way of saying a woman is promiscuous and would likely have sex for money.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/12/24 01:47 AM
3

I'm above average in education, being slim, reading books and not playing video games but I'm also in the minority that has mental health problems. I'm okay with money but crap at making it. I think I would be a terrible partner for many reasons.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/12/24 12:02 AM
2

How is your wife as a partner? And how would you rate yourself? Hmmm . . . now I'm wondering what other statistics should be considered? Hygene? Financial literacy? Time spent on household chores?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/24 09:28 PM
10

Ugh. Yes. Bending to social pressure for something as important as a long term relationship sounds like a huge problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/24 03:10 AM
2

I'm not sure if I quite get what you are saying but then I need more caffeine. (-; I try (not enough) to argue the opposite point of view from my own. I think this is what lawyers have to do. Also this seems a bit like Christs second commandment although perhaps substituting "understand" for "love" is some kind of disingenuous logical fallacy - irk
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/24 03:51 PM
3

Even if it is horrible advice, it can make you think in a different direction. Sorry about your horrible year. Ugh. So many parts of life just seem like you have to hang on tough and get through each day the best you can. May things look up in 2025 if just a teeny bit.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 03:22 AM
3

Can we ever really have an unbiased view? I'm always wondering how far off of truth are my own perceptions. We all seem to be blind man describing by touch the little bit of something much bigger and more complex than an elephant.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 03:18 AM
13

That sounds right to me. I feel like I learn so much in discussion although it probably entrenches my mindset even deeper sometimes. Sigh.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 02:15 AM
5

Hmm . . . could you elaborate? Also what women do you have in your life?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 02:14 AM
7

I always want to think that posters like OP are teenagers trying to figure things out. He might be but then too often older men post stuff like this. Sigh. I should start a career in some kind of rage bait.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/24 12:22 AM
8

This has been true for me in my circle through the majority of my life and I'm old. I don't doubt there are some situations like OP describes but I've never run into it. Everyone I know works no matter what their marital status and when the kids are little, everyone works full out, balls to the wall and forget about sleep and leisure time.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/24 12:13 AM
3

There are certainly more men doing this than years ago. I hope we see it continue to increase.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/24 11:40 PM

Yeah that is better.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/24 03:51 PM
1

50-60 years ago men it probably wasn't as important for men to be attractive as women were so trapped financially. Marriage was one of the few careers.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/24 11:56 PM
3

I don't feel like the women in your examples in general but if a man acted like the man u/Thatshygurl described I would come closer to feeling like your bolded text . . . .not like the bolded text but closer. Men are just people trying to figure out life and probably doing as well/badly as I am myself.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/24 11:50 PM
14

Thanks for this post. I find your experience interesting. When I first got on Reddit coincided when I first learned about "Involuntary Celibacy". I was incredulous that this was a problem. I wound up reading and posting a lot on one of the subreddits that has since been taken down. I kind of elected myself the house mother of this group (this was probably ill advised on my part). I was very unpopular but I learned a lot. Since reading on that subreddit, I take the suffering of men way more serio…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/11/24 02:53 AM

Yes!!
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 07:31 PM

Well what was the point of your post if you had the flair? We could all probably figure it out. People are attracted to attractive people. We all know this. Life sure can suck. I suppose we all know this but we do all still complain.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 03:03 PM

Yep there are traits that are generally attractive to others and it does well and truly suck if you don't have them. I'm so sorry if you are one of the ones who doesn't have these traits.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 01:49 PM

It is your hands that get me. Men's hands are wonderful.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 01:41 PM
8

I know lots of women who have been raped or beaten but only a few who went to authorities and the few who did was because they were hurt so badly they needed medical care so I think cops were called in. I think way more men are raped themselves than falsely accused of rape. The story about Reynard Sanaga is horrific. Please be careful out there guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/24 01:36 AM
6

Hmmm . . .you remind me of my friend's mother who called the cops on her husband. She had dementia. They had been married 50 years. She didn't recognize him. That is the only false accusation I know of.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/24 01:31 AM
5

Probably paying attention and being an active listener.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/24 05:25 PM

Of course not. I would hope that this guy understands her policy and prefers it to that of her opponent. It is a logical choice not any thing having to do with his sexuality.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/11/24 03:18 PM
1

Oh, I thought you were being facetious. Time and patience seems to be key with a lot of things in life. May you meet someone wonderful if that is what you want.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/24 11:49 PM
5

You got me. I'm laughing. I'm sorry this has been your experience. OLD doesn't seem like a good deal for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/11/24 11:36 PM

I don't think it necessarily ever becomes symptomatic in men or women. We need a medical person here. Also we need some statistics on the rate of men vs women being screened for STDs
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/24 12:46 PM
2

Men with some STDs are asymptomatic. Think of Juan Peron who died of a heart attack whereas his first two wives probably died as a result of an STD. Also men can be more cavalier about seeing doctors. Women are expected to have pelvic exams and pap smears starting around 18 whether they are sexually active or not. It is standard medical practice. If a woman goes into a doc for any reason (anti-depression, flu, stomach ache), the doctor will ask about her last pelvic exam. It doesn't matter if sh…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/24 11:35 PM
2

Well data will only show those diagnosed not everyone with STDs. It is possible many people with STDs don't get diagnosed.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/24 08:07 PM
2

Aren't some of these STDs curable?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/24 12:58 PM
5

The receptive partner in sex is way more likely to get an STD. Gay men are even more vulnerable to STDs than women. You don't have to be promiscuous to get an STD. My niece got one from her husband. It is how she knew the first time that he was cheating on her.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/24 02:35 AM
3

So personal bias then?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/24 02:32 AM
8

Men's hands. These are great. My scrawny paws just don't compare. I was at a friend's yesterday. We are both 60ish. I was taping a jar lid against the counter to go about the project of opening it. Man friend (not hugely strong and as I said 60ish) walked by, took jar out of my hand, opened it and handed it back. Neat.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/24 12:00 AM

No it isn't always a win. It is such a complex issue. Immigration problems in the US go all the way back to before our country's birth.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/24 06:28 PM
2

It could although these unemployed may have to move and take jobs they don't want. Some people are just unemployable. Ugh.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/24 03:59 PM
2

Yes. This seems true around the world. I understand that the more educated women are the fewer children they have. Hmmmm . . . I'm not sure if that is true for men.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/24 01:24 PM
1

Yep, lots of messed up stuff in this world. Lots of teachers in my family and some taught Sex Ed. I haven't heard of any of them having any problems with it. We just have lots of school shootings in my state. We probably have had CPS not do the right thing but it isn't that big of a problem where I live. I think I am very lucky to live where I do. From what you have told me, I will stay away from Virginia.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/24 02:06 AM
1

"MR and Mrs Jones said that boys can’t get pregnant! " I've never heard of anything like that around me or people being reported for saying such a thing. There was kitty litter being kept in classrooms around where I live which got into the media and got all twisted. Ugh. It must be tough where you live. I'm so sorry.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/24 01:39 AM
2

It must have been scary living through those times. Scary times now too.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/24 01:20 AM

Good point. Sex sells whether fiction or non-fiction. All of this still winds up being pretty controversial.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/24 12:16 AM

Man oh man. Lots of subject you brought up. Our conversation got me into looking up Trotsky who was probably one of the earliest Antifa guys. It seems like Stalin and Hitler both started out claiming to be procommunist but became authoritarian butchers.

Good to hear (-:
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/24 06:29 PM

I probably shouldn't be commenting on this as I don't know who Harley Quinn is. I do love conversation but a lot of movie/comic book references go over my head.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/24 06:25 PM

I am in the US. I don't think 50 Shades was universally banned; this wouldn't be possible. It probably was banned on a small scale in schools. Was Stalin considered a fascist?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/24 05:16 PM
2

Well I believe 50 Shades was banned in some areas. A book that postulated the opposite of 50 Shades of Grey, Tenant of Wildfel Hall, was also banned although it was a best seller when it was published. I don't know of male sexual fantasy books being banned but I bet it has happened. Lolita has probably been banned. I've never run into people involved with Antifa although I had a few relatives who fought on the Allied side of WWII. Facists tend to have a negative reputation. Edit: I believe Tenan…

Well I sure don't read everything on this sub and apparently I missed this. I would think there is someone somewhere who read 50 Shades to understand women. I read a few of the books because they were banned. After the first, I skipped all the sex parts which made them very short books (-;
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/24 05:00 PM

We get lots of immigration so we probably still have a growing population. If Trump gets elected and manages to deport a couple million people, we will be hurting then as so many citizens are aging and we don't have enough workers even now.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/24 04:48 PM
6

From what I can tell the low birthrate in the US isn't caused by men being unwilling to impregnate women but rather the cost of living and childcare. Also lots of people don't want to put the effort into raising children. I would rather these last type of people don't have children. Their children are much less likely to grow to be functional adults than kids with parents who understand the sacrifices and are willing to make them.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/24 04:45 PM
1

I have never met a man who said that. I do find it helpful to read books by people with a different background but so much fiction is just someone's fantasy and doesn't have much to do with real life and real people. Curious what were the guys like who said that about the 50 Shades of Grey books?

Thanks.

Yes except for the notable exception of the US where maternal deaths have increased in the last few decades. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/mortality-rates-united-states/maternal/#2014 This is an older source but it shows the increase in Maternal Mortality in the US. Of course with covid, we had a recent increase in maternal deaths and it wasn't anyone's fault just the nature of covid and pregnancy.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/10/24 04:22 PM

Better edit this. 56% of pregnant women are not dying but I believe there has been a significant increase in maternal mortality in Texas.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/10/24 04:17 PM

The drastic uptick is partially from covid as pregnant folks were more likely to die from covid. Still maternal death rate has been steadily climbing in the last couple decades. ugh.

Yep it is along with self-delusion and immaturity when young . . . .hmmm . . . .although I'm 61 and still manage to be immature.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/24 05:42 PM

Maybe some people see improved laws that extend beyond their lifetimes as long term gratification.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/10/24 01:23 AM

Yes, you really have to want the right thing more than your own short term gratification. It is super difficult to live life in this way.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/10/24 01:04 AM

Ugh. That person may well not want to be born into the situation that he/she is headed. I wish life was a universal joy for everyone born but it isn't.

Sex is a tough thing for humans. Good on you for getting some help and working through your issues although often I feel I just get better with living with my issues. OP, I hope you work through this. Life is tough indeed.

The question was actually asking women and when women have for so long been shamed for having a sex drive, it is a bit tough to be sympathetic to guys like OP. I do laugh a bit but suffering is suffering and I hope OP can get some counseling and finds a partner if that is what he wants.

What do you mean "this is only recipe for more"? I do appreciate you engaging with me and really do want to understand what you are saying. What is the "this" that you refer to here?

Well the truth tends to come out with time. You may meet some lovely woman who treats you well but with time you realize she cheats, steals, and really disrespects you. Love bombing and frog in a boiling pot are a thing. It all starts well but doesn't necessarily continue that way.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/10/24 06:11 PM

No surprise that people act differently, it just makes individuals wonder if someone who is being kind and appropriate in person is covering up their true self.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/10/24 06:06 PM

Yes, but the negative message about sex by society may well be drowned out by the reality of biology for women. If you don't take the biology into account, you aren't going to guess right on why women choose to have sex or not. Men just get the negative societal message to discourage them from casual sex. Women also get this negative message along with way, Way WAY more biological realities that discourage them from casual sex. I'm so sorry that OP has gotten such a negative message about sex fr…

Sure a woman can be promiscuous same as a man. Although, of course, it is more difficult for a man to find partners. On the other hand a woman has some biological realities that may be way, way more of an influence on her than than not wanting to be a "slut". She is more likely to be killed or hurt by a partner. She is more susceptible to STIs. She is way less likely to orgasm via means of penetrative sex. She might get pregnant. She can lose her job from being pregnant. In some areas of the wor…

Hard to know. There is lots of shaming of women like there is shaming of men. OP claims to be influenced by "Men are sexist pigs that objectify women.". I don't doubt that other men are influenced by this and some who aren't. Similarly women probably react (or don't) to society's shaming of women's sexuality. We humans sure run the gamut of diversity.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/10/24 02:37 PM

Shame around sex is probably a combination of different cultural, historical elements. "Don't be a slut", "Men are sexist pigs that objectify women.", and purity culture.

Well, marriage and/or partnerships and/or sex isn't necessarily pleasant for everyone. As you probably know not all women orgasm with penetrative sex and it can even be painful. Even for women who enjoy sex and do orgasm with penetrative sex, this can change after giving birth and/or when they are on birth control. It would probably be better for all if a vagina was like an inside out penis but it really isn't. Also as you may know, some men rape their wives or don't care about their partners pl…

Yes, I am serious. I think it is called being demi-sexual. I can look at a man and recognize he is good looking but it doesn't make me attracted to him. Sexuality sure is different for everyone.

Thanks. I don't plan to ever marry and really think there are some of us who just aren't marriage material. This doesn't mean I'm not doing the best I can to live a decent life and I bet a lot of other people are doing the same.

I'm a good listener, relatively attractive, not a huge spender, do house work and can cook. That being said, I think my bad traits outweigh my good traits and I would not make a good partner. Consequently I have resolved to stay single. In spite of staying single, I try to improve myself everyday (with mixed results!)

It took me a long time to realize that while it is a man's world, it isn't every man's world. It is all changing too. Edit: reposted this under auto mod as it wasn't debating the OP.

I would argue that focusing on our own crap brings self improvement. Insulting others (incel/slut/whore) just points to the insulter's need for self improvement. To be fair if someone calling you names has helped you improve than maybe I'm wrong here. I just haven't experienced this nor seen it happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 05:40 PM

Yes, specially when you have kids. It is tough when one of the marriage is basically another kid to take care of. Adulthood and marriage is tough enough without the dead weight of a non-functional adult as a partner.

Yes. I remember when it evened out at age 10. I do appreciate the improvements in health care. Too many kids used to die. Interesting that you would prefer living in a majority female population. I do know of countries who skew their population through female infanticide but I haven't heard of male infanticide. Ugh. War of course could skew population towards women. Mainly I don't want to live in a society where lots of people die young.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/08/24 01:12 AM

Interesting idea. I'm in the US and I believe we have slightly more women than men. I understand Nepal and Russia have significantly more women while India and China have more men. I tend to want things to be the natural 50/50 although with medicine has changed nature in the way that more boys survive which seems good.

Even if it is a mainstream paper, it was an opinion piece in a mainstream paper. Also it was written a long time ago. I doubt there are many who think this way. To be fair I didn't read the article. It doesn't sound worth the time. I don't doubt there is currently someone who believes that women shouldn't go to prison but there is always someone somewhere who believes something nutty.

Sigh. My young and pretty days are far behind me and I wouldn't do them again for all the money in the world. Not fun. My foster sister was kind of raised by my parents, her inlaws and husband. It isn't ideal of course but she is an amazing mom and grandma. She has worked hard to create a good family and social circle. Therapy helped her too.

It does seem like there has always been pockets of just men or just women who do fine as a single sex community. I'm a huge fan of families whatever they look like but I don't think it is necessary that they have multiple genders to be functional. As far as overall society, I don't know if it is negatively affected by some (or even a lot of) people choosing not to date nor marry.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/24 02:43 PM

Man oh man with all the lonely men around, I wish more women were promiscuous. It would seem better for the men. Of course I don't care for unwanted pregnancies nor STIs but who does. It seems weird that high N-count in women is so put down as so many men seem to want casual sex. It would seem like men would, in their own self interest, put down women like me and encourage women who are promiscuous. Just be careful out there.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/24 04:14 AM

Well I value sexual chastity in myself and in men. I do think for some people having a similar standard for men and women is a real thing and for others it is inconcievable.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/24 04:02 AM
2

Yes! I was thinking about this topic and what user u/SaBaRub said. Of course some people will only seek and accept simple answers their entire lives but for many of us posts like OP's (and many of the responses) are part of the journey to figuring out how complex life, people and reality is.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/24 01:40 PM
4

Sigh. The black and white thinking is lazy or non-realistic. I remember wanting simple answers for complex situations when I was young.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/24 04:45 AM
5

I can understand wanting life, people and reality to be simple instead of being so rife with complexity and nuance. I tend to think lots of reddit users are young and struggling to figure this out. Pointing it out probably isn't helpful as most of us are more experiential learners and need to figure it out at our own pace and in our own way. That being said, I still wind up pointing this out quite a bit.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/24 03:57 AM

Well some women may have found OP a bit fresh. Everyone's different. There is no one right way.

That makes sense to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/24 01:48 AM

Of course some women are like that maybe more often young women but many aren't. There are many ways I see people as losers but these aren't them. (Some age gap relationships sometimes seem to be pursued by losers but some aren't)
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/24 02:20 PM
2

That makes sense. So many relationships just aren't worth it. Most of us are broken to a certain extent. I'm one of those people who I don't think could possibly be a good partner so I have stayed single; it is just all round better.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 09:02 PM

Yes. It is tricky trying to be helpful. Often we just enable people. I find listening to be a huge thing that most of us crave and it doesn't just mean shutting up but paying attention too. And yep, people will talk forever if you let them. Also, I tend to think a lot of people need professional help not some random booger head like me listening. I still listen but try to be aware of how little I can do. I've come to the conclusion that no one can really help anyone (wait wait I'm going to expla…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 07:36 PM

Yes, I agree. There is some story of heaven and hell where everyone has forks 3 feet long. In hell, people are starving because they can't feed themselves with the forks. In heaven, people are using the forks to feed each other. All we can do is our little bit to make life better for others. What do you generally do to try to make other's happy and be part of a greater good?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 07:03 PM

Well good for you (or not.) If you would rather have no sex than bad sex then you made a good decision. I'm with you on this. I think a lot of women choose like you have chosen as the sex just isn't worth it. Ugh. Reality can so so suck.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 06:53 PM

If this is important to you, you should probably not be with this lazy, egoistic partner. It does really suck that there are so ding dang dad blasted many partners that aren't a good fit.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 05:56 PM

OP, from what you are describing, it sounds like men are truly suffering because of not receiving the kind of sex they want. I seem to have a way more negative view of the reality of life than you do. I find life difficult and painful for myself and apparently others for many reasons. This is just life. Not getting sex when you want it and how you want it is probably reality for most people. I started to realize in my 20s that I was never going to have a partner, home, family, children nor caree…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/24 05:46 PM

Yes. Well said. There absolutely are women who enjoy casual sex but they are probably in the minority. Of course successful, good looking men are more likely to find women who will have casual sex with them but there are women who don't do that no matter what the guy looks like.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 01:25 PM

I don't think universal female promotion of male celibacy would make much headway against the male libido. (getting all people of any group on board with anything is pretty impossible - I know that is another issue) However, I try to be supportive of single men whether they are happy or not that way. My support might not change their longing for a partner but by witnessing their suffering maybe I lighten the pain a bit. OP, and everyone else here, I hope you do what you can to support your fello…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 06:37 PM

Yes. Men may well crave physical affection but in the situation described it should be an old woman offering hugs as that (mostly) takes the sexual element out. I was struck by this post. It is probably not that men need hugs from strangers but need relationships that are close enough to receive hugs.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 03:12 AM
4

Ugh. I'm in the US and it seems like some kind of later stage monopoly game where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. If you didn't buy the first 3 things you landed on 150 years ago, you don't have a chance.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/24 04:21 AM
12

Well said. Humans and the lives they live are so complex. Taylor Swift and Elon Musk probably aren't good people to look at as they are unusually successful in their own ways. Most of us men or women, struggle to get along with our families, deal with money issues and live healthy. I don't think this is easy for anyone. Lots of people have monkey wrenches of trauma, illness or just crap luck thrown in.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/24 01:32 AM

Yes, even if you bring the biological child in, that parent hasn't bonded with the child and can not just step in. In a way this is an argument for paternity tests at birth. Ugh.

Yes, and the genetic father needs to step up.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/24 09:34 PM

I don't although I so so feel for the kid whose "dad" suddenly disappears because he is not related to the kid. Sorry for "dad" too but more so for the kid. It makes me angry enough that I think "dad" should get custody and mom should pay child support but that is an idea that comes more out of anger than logic.

That is what I want from the squeeze.

Yes dating apps, and before that personal ads, make clear what an individual wants. From what I can tell a large percentage of men on dating apps are seeking casual sex. The morality of this may be debatable but at least these guys are honest about what they want.

"Stop whining about what can't be changed and focus on what is in your control" I so like this. Although I do think it takes some time and maturity to get your head around this. I hope you found a good partner and your marriage has been happy. I was relatively good looking when I was young but realized I would never be that great of a partner and was way better off single. I never married and haven't dated in decades.

I think I am permanently weird but I do work on being less whiny . . . . . this might be a bit of a red herring. Apologies.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 11:13 PM

I'm a bit confused here OP. "Women are allowed to have needs"? It seems like all people, men and women, have needs. "Allow" has nothing to do with it. Sadly many times our needs aren't meant. That is life and it is tragic with children as they can be be permanently damaged. Irk. I suppose adults can be permanently damaged too. As far as being entitled to a relationship no one is. Relationships have a life of their own. Anyone can put time and effort into a relationship and the friend/lover/child…

I hope the two of you get along great. I'm a bit of a romantic in that I want people to ride off into the sunset together but that isn't often realistic. People sure complain a lot and are often negative. It sounds like you have experienced this. It is tough.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 08:22 PM
1

That is well said. Unfortunately it is tough specially when you are young to not care about what people think. There are definitely old people who still care but in general others' perceptions lose power with time. Hang tough OP and I hope you find whatever you want in this life.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 06:11 PM

Heya OP, I appreciate the question you posted and am enjoying reading the responses. Your post here compared to the women's responses is making me appreciate being a woman. You men often seem to suffer so much with your libidos and maybe, as you suggest here, the lack of ability to satiate your libido does impede your figuring out concepts like radical acceptance and mindfulness. I don't want to think this is true and maybe it isn't but reading what men post leads me to consider that this is tru…
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 02:37 AM

It took me way longer to learn that radical acceptance. I was still fighting some battles that I couldn't possibly win in my twenties.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/24 08:46 PM

Well, you might specially stay away from women selling hand jobs. They may well be addicts on top of being women on top of being screwed up individuals. No offense as this probably goes without saying that these women are a wreck and probably "Mad, bad and dangerous to know."
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 11:51 PM
1

Yes, I'm thinking of the monk. I didn't know about the guy in India. These might be people to look into if you are interested in living separate from women.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 11:48 PM

Like puddle skirts or the huge sleeves that were popular in Europe in the 12th century. Well the nail thing does give instant information on someone so that is nice.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 11:44 PM
1

Good for you. There are worse things than staying celibate all your life. I read a story about a guy who never saw a woman his entire life. I think he lived in Greece.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 11:41 PM
2

Another made up fact?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 11:39 PM

Ah. That is what it seemed like.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 11:33 PM

Sleep well and may you be able to avoid women all your life. There are ways to do this.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 11:33 PM
2

I'm wanting links here. Specially the one on nails. Sadly so many kids are raised in crap families. In the US we are probably going to see an increase in these situations and a resulting rise in crime. Ugh. I hope you had decent parents.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 11:28 PM
1

Yes, I do have a good family. The men are total watering pots. It always makes me feel cold in comparison. Also in my neighborhood I have some star amazing men. I have learned the hard way that they are really something. It sounds like you understand the red flags that some women fly high. Fancy hand bags (although I wouldn't recognize a high priced one) and nails often give me pause but I did live in Puerto Rico and women's nails were really a thing. It was pretty wild to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 11:26 PM
1

I have never heard this. Do you have a link? You are giving me a chuckle as my nails are charcoal grey right now. I like gardening.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 11:22 PM
3

I'm sorry if this is what the majority of women you meet are like. That must suck beyond suck. I don't know any women like that but I have a unique family and social circle so that may well account for it. May you find that minority and hang with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 11:20 PM
2

I don't understand?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 11:17 PM
3

I love when people show some BS attitude like "Men shouldn't cry" as it instantly shows what kind of person the speaker is and I can avoid them. I have to admit I chuckle a bit as these people as they are often so bad that I find it hilarious.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 11:16 PM
5

Maybe so. Please please stay away from such women.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 11:14 PM
5

Sigh. I'm sorry I don't see this the way you do. I have known men who like fighting it and this seems more participatory violence than being a victim. Violence just seems so inherent in gangs that this also seems more participatory. Of course there absolutely are men outside of the situations I named who are victims of violence. If this has been you I would call you a victim or a survivor whichever you prefer.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 11:09 PM
1

I had one friend who talked about how much he liked getting into fights. I bet there are women like this too but they are more rare.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 11:01 PM
1

Many apologies. Men are victims of violent crime more often as they are more likely to be involved in gangs and bar fights. I do often express myself badly.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 11:00 PM
2

I would think so but I haven't seen any research on this. I can so see how men more often experience violence specially in public but if they stay out of gangs and bar fights they are way less likely where as women just need to not go home nor to work to not experience violence? I'm stating this way too extremely. Sigh. Whatever your gender, please take every precaution you can, try to deescalate situations and pick your company with care.

Women probably experience more violence in private and men more violence in public . . . . . .I have no idea if that is true but seems true.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 10:21 PM
5

I would think almost the opposite. Women are more likely to be victims of violent crimes in their own homes or places of work . . . . hmmmm . . . not sure about the places of work.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 07:33 PM
4

Specially young men in gangs.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 07:31 PM

I would absolutely think men experience more violent crime as they are much more likely to be involved in gangs and probably bar fights and the like.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/24 07:30 PM

I think I would really suck at accepting service from men or from anyone. Perhaps this history is part of it . . . . hmmm . . . . I may not be very good at accepting help from women either. Gah.

I hope he can learn to be alone and deal with himself. It is tough for people who are used to being in relationships.

This is where I start getting confused. There is gender and sexuality but then there are masculine and feminine traits which anyone can have. I would think irregardless of sexuality and gender anyone of us can be imbalanced or balanced. I think I need a class.

I would opine that healthy people represent a balanced yin yang within their own psyches.

Men don't want to? I do see relationships as more cooperative than competitive. Is that what you are saying?

I'm glad you are safe. That sounds like a scary experience.

/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/24 03:06 AM

I haven't really been around people who were like this neither men or women . . . hmmm . . . .I probably have run across people like this but I haven't lived with them. Do you think of men or masculine people as being bullheaded, non-cooperative and competing? I might not be understanding you very well here and it is feminine who you see as bullheaded, non-cooperative and competing.

I'm with u/Professional_Chair28 on this one OP. Male feminists are not necessarily feminine. You seem to have some type of sophistry going on this one.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/24 03:59 AM

I would think that feminism would encourage women to do this so it would be a good indication of the success of feminism in the country.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/24 03:56 AM
2

That's what I have heard too. It is a great story so of course western Media has picked up on it. OP from what I understand, South Korea is fairly traditional. It is more the cost of living that is discouraging childbirth.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/24 03:55 AM
5

I didn't even know this was a thing. I can easily believe that it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/24 03:53 AM
3

I'm not sure it is that simple but I still think you make a good point.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/24 01:17 PM
3

Yes I've heard of this movement too. I've also heard that the movement is not as large as the media makes it out to be. It is a great story so we hear about it more than its influence warrants. I have also heard that their birth rate is .79. They don't have immigration so this a disaster rolling towards them. From what I understand it is more the cost of living that causes the problem but no doubt, the traditional strict gender roles aren't helping.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/24 03:11 PM

If you like being sexually pursued by men as a woman then it is an absolute privilege. If you don't like this then it isn't.

No worries. It was actually some other poster who was bringing up memories of a time I was living off Ensure. So is DIM in Kale?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 10:48 PM
1

Sadly some of the excuses are legitimate reasons. I have enough time now to eat whatever I want and so enjoy it. Lots of vegetables and salads. I feel very lucky.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 10:19 PM
1

Good on you. That sounds like a great idea to eat Kale a bit before a meal. I'm naturally slim or maybe I just genetically don't like sweets nor do I like to eat a lot. I still try to hit the leafy greens and veggies as much as I can. This conversation made me hungry and I cooked some frozen vegetables with sausage. The vegetables were a bit freezer burned but still better than the days I lived on Ensure.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 10:17 PM
1

Some people can make it work but it depends on how helpful your spouse is and how old your kids are. One thing human never seem to really grasp is how much energy babies and toddlers take. It is just an immense investment to raise children to be a functioning adult. Often for the first year of a kids life you don't even sleep much. Of course some infants figure it out in a couple months.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 10:12 PM
1

Yep and some people don't have 30 minutes a day nor the means to buy and cook healthy food. I do have the time and I hope you do too but so many people specially with small children don't. Do you have kids? What do you do to stay slim and eat healthy?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 08:09 PM
0

Sadly finding time to shop can be as tough as finding time to prepare food. And yes, cost is often a problem. Crappy food is cheaper by the calorie.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 07:55 PM
3

Oh no if I have time I much prefer fresh vegetables and salads. I don't like sweets that much so when I haven't had time to eat, it is a bit of a problem. Ensure is really sweet. Premade salads can't be stored for a week in a desk drawer. Ensure can be. I suppose 5 days of premade salads could be stored in a fridge although the last day might be a bit limp.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 07:48 PM

Making a living, paying bills, raising children, being involved with their communities and taking care of aging parents. Not that much different than the challenges men face. Life is tough and being an adult sure can be hard.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 07:45 PM
5

Yes, I have had situations when I don't have time to eat. At these times, I ate to get the most calories in the shortest amount of time. I've done Ensure which is probably healthier (not much but a little) than cookies and ice cream. Sadly salads and fresh vegetables take longer to prepare, don't last as long and don't give as many calories as ice cream, junk food and cookies. Ugh.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 07:34 PM
5

More slim women would certainly enlarge the pool of attractive women for men; however fewer and fewer women see being attractive to men as a priority in their lives. There are just so many challenges and difficulties in life that this just isn't important. Even further, being overweight as a woman can cut down on attention from men which is often a positive for women.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 07:27 PM
11

Yes. Pregnancy permanently changes women's bodies. Also raising children, for most people, does not leave much time for exercise nor healthy eating. OP if you struggle at all to eat healthy and exercise, it is the same for women although as I mentioned before pregnancy makes it even more challenging. Women are just people and how they deal with living healthy is really no different than how men deal with it. It is challenging.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 07:22 PM

That sounds a bit right to me. There are good looking men who then open their mouths to talk and any attraction fizzles. Ugh. Not to say there aren't women like this.

I like the idea of peaceable types being drafted into the military as well as children of peaceable types. It would make the entire country have more skin in the game. Also 2 years in the military would give young people some good experience between high school and being independent. Ugh. At least that is what I would want it to be. Man I so wish the US took the approach you describe with teenagers and sex. Unfortunately we still have ongoing influence from the early Puritan settlers - sigh. We are absolutely better than Sudan or, God help them, Congo. This is a pretty sad, lower than low bar. Black Americans have a horrific maternal death rate (I'd use a way worse term than "cretinous" speaking of this). It is truly an embarrassment for our country. Sadly the maternal death appears to have risen in recent years rather than fallen. It is certainly better than pre-antibiotic but not better than 50 years ago. Maternal mortality is indeed super low in most developed countries except for the US. Maternal mortality is specially bad for POC in the US. Ugh. That is a good point about men too. I think you misunderstood my intent. I absolutely do not want men to feel badly. Even more so a woman who is not interested in them may well have issues going on outside of their control even outside of the woman's control. Yes of course there is a selection process and some people even self-select themselves out of the gene pool. Others are not selected as partners of course. Some find partners but choose not to have children. I do understand this part. I have heard that few men of the past passed on their genes? I want to understand this more. Hmmm . . . . Wait but doesn't many men not being represented in the modern gene pool mean that none of their children survived to reproduce not that the non-genetically represented men weren't having sex? Absolutly. Sinaga would frequent bars to find victims. As these people were probably drinking their inhibitions were down. I think he would then drug them. I have heard that Ted Bundy used crutches and asked his victims to help him.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/24 03:59 PM

I see your point. Drinking is problematic for everyone. I doubt what you wear makes much of a difference. There is an art exhibit that displays clothes worn by victims. Lots of it isn't particularly sexy. Of course drinking increases risk of bad consequences no matter who you are. I would like to think we could all increase our safety by what we wear but rapists don't seem to care. You are getting me wondering what Reynhard Sinaga 's victims were wearing?

Most of my time learning Spanish I only had access to "book learning" but you can get super good at classroom language and still not speak nor understand well. I have been using duolingo to study Spanish but am getting sick of it. What online resources do you use?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 12:59 PM

So are you studying both languages currently? If so how are you studying Polish and French? Also what do you consider fluent? The only language fluency rating I know of is the Common European Framework of References for Languages CEFRL. I'm really interested in languages specially in learning them as an adult so you caught my interest here.

That is interesting. I have traveled in Europe but haven't spent much time there. My family had a couple of exchange students from Europe but they didn't seem that different to me. There were little cultural differences but that was about it. Do you speak French or Polish?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 12:07 PM

That is tough. Kids take an amazing amount of effort to raise. I've heard that having kids is like a bomb going off in a marriage and when the dust settles things are just so different. Being a step parent is even harder. Gah. What countries have you been to in Europe where you saw women who you liked?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 11:53 AM
2

So you live in the US? Well I hope you can find a European woman with whom you hit it off if that is what you want. I tend to think most people make good acquaintances but sharing a life for years and decades is an entirely different thing. Nothing wrong with being pleasant and feminine, it just doesn't necessarily make someone a good partner in the long term IMHO. You said you have only been single for a decade? What happened with that relationship?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 11:45 AM
2

Ah. So you have liked women you met overseas? What countries have you lived in that you liked the women?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 11:38 AM
3

Yes although you don't seem to really like women nor the idea of Partnership so would you really want one around all the time? I take it you were married or had a partner? Was it a good experience? Not to say that I don't also struggle being single.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 11:22 AM
2

Too bad you don't do something you enjoy but so many don't. I'm a bit confused: you make good money and you are single. This all sounds great. What is the down side?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:28 AM
2

Ah. And I'm laughing too. You never know who you are talking to. I kind of assume everyone is young on Reddit but of course that isn't true. Apologies but then we both laughed and I need every chuckle I can get. I hope you have some kind of career you like?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:22 AM

Well, on some scales being well spoken, educated as well as speaking English and having access to the internet is a pretty long straw. What did you study in school? Have you finished your schooling? . . . . hmmm . . . . for all know you are 60 and this question is wildly inappropriate. Apologies if this is so.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 04:13 AM
5

Ugh. It sounds rough for you. No rotting nor dying (yet) on my part. I have a pretty good life. It isn't perhaps typical but it isn't bad. I'm sorry you drew the short straw. You seem well spoken and educated. Am I wrong?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:59 AM

Good on you. Some people do have amazing relationships and that is wonderful for them. Others of us really should stay single.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:47 AM
10

I sure didn't. I have stayed single. There are some of us that it is just better this way.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:40 AM

That makes sense. Dating sites pretty much suck specially for men and have a way smaller percentage of women. Stay off those things.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/24 03:20 AM
11

Yes, when I was young I often wanted to just hang with my family as I had a decent one. I can understand that folks without family spend more time with friends and are hit hard when their friends find partners and are less available.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/24 06:02 PM
26

Yep, happens for women who get partners too. Also when couples have kids it is even more so this way. It is tough OP but reality of humans and relationships. Calling these guys "whipped" seems a bit naive on your part. Most of us are when we are younger and still figuring out life.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/24 05:55 PM

Yeah, the communal life, music and structure is appealing but yep, there is a religious aspect to it. Some of men's comments here are inspiring me to believe in a conspiracy theory that there is a men's movement to get more women to consider celibacy or full on religious life :-) Of course there are many men with deep integrity determined to live decent lives.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/24 03:11 PM
10

Yes, this is so bad it is kind of funny. I guess I don't think of things that turn me on as much as turn me off. The idea of someone having or watching a youtube channel called "Hoe Math" makes me consider celibacy and/or the convent as a way of life.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/24 02:20 PM

It is kind of hilarious.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/24 03:27 AM

"I don't even think this is arguable on any level." Oh ye of little faith in Redditors ability to argue on any topic!
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 10:43 PM

"The concept still remains." Seems that the concept exists mostly in your own head.

Maybe the top rung of spiritual evolution is an inanimate object.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/24 02:29 AM
15

Hm, I've never heard of responsive/spontaneous desire. It kind of makes sense. I'm pretty much never attracted to men I don't know.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/24 02:40 AM
2

So if I say you men are tempting a chaste woman by spreading around those seductive pheromones, that would be a cope?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/24 10:19 PM
3

Well I have stayed out of relationships but some guys do smell wonderful to me and some don't. I don't think it is cologne. Maybe this is, as you said, a cope, "Those wonderful smelling men using their pheromones to tempt a chaste woman!!!" (-;
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/24 09:04 PM
4

Ah thanks. I just notice how men smell and some smell amazing, some don't and some have no scent whatsoever. It is weird.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/24 06:10 PM
7

Can you explain this. I'm old and don't really understand "cope".
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/24 06:02 PM
12

Yes, sometimes it is just some kind of pheromone that you have no control over,

"With a strong social safety net, quality schooling, and good parental services (child care, .etc)" I am strongly with you on this one. I neither have children nor am I sexually active but I vote for laws that seem to offer support for kids and custodial parents. I would argue that kids with dead moms or deadbeat moms also suffer. Mothers should contribute as much to raising and/or financially supporting children as fathers.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/24 02:32 PM

"Artificial insemination, which functions regardless of actual consent (even though consent is legally required, it doesn't make you not still the father)." So you know men who have been sperm donors and been held financially responsible for the child? I haven't heard of this and it seems fairly easy to avoid: don't become a sperm donor._____________ "Okay, but why do we allow this for sperm donation only? This creates the absurd situation where if I go, have a one night stand with a woman inten…

So do you know men who didn't have sex and didn't adopt who were held legally responsible outside of NPE? I've just never seen this. Men can sure choose to adopt but this is up to them. They can also choose to be a sperm donor and won't be held responsible although the kids may come seek them out eventually. I've only seen genetic parents and adoptive parents held responsible for kids. Some people admit to being super adverse to raising someone else's genetic kid so with this reality, it makes s…

Good on you for having a life. I hope it is rewarding. How would you propose we provide for children? It may not be your personal concern but it is a huge concern of greater society even for those of us who never have children. It is my own concern too.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/24 01:49 PM

Heya, I hope I didn't chase you away. I like how you are questioning and thinking about this issue. I wish more men would do this type of critical thinking . . . .irk . . . and women too. Choosing to control your own fertility may be the biggest choice you make in your life. Bringing an unwanted child into the world is a terrible situation for the kid and not good for the parents either. Life, reality and biology is deeply unfair and society has often struggled with how to provide for the immens…

Ah. I took the liberty of changing the situation. As there are always bears and people in the woods so it doesn't seem like a very interesting question. Any time you are in the woods there is probably some human and some bears around. It doesn't seem like a big deal to me. Again I apologize for offending you but I'm also a bit mystified why looking at the question differently is offensive. Gah. It does seem to be my natural talent to piss people off.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/24 04:15 AM

"How can you keep misconstruing this?" Apologies. I didn't explain myself well. I find the question and answers more interesting when I add nuance or change the situation. I have had bears break into my house so this is why I think of this. Bears in woods are fine. That is where they belong. Lots of humans in the woods too and I've never had a bad experience with humans in the woods either.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/24 04:08 AM

Hey Babazuki, I had an idea. Are you saying it would be dangerous to treat a bear like a person? Like would I rather shake hands with a bear or a human? This absolutely would be dangerous. I agree with you if this is what you are saying. Bears are just more interesting to see and predictable so safe in that way but yeah you absolutely do not treat them like a person. If someone asked me would I rather die like Russel Bentley or Timothy Treadwell . . .irk . . .neither death is appealing.

Well I don't live in the city so I'm not around people that much. I can't think of the last time I shook hands with someone. It sounds like you are not around bears much. Neither am I but they are around.. They really are pretty predictable so not that much of a problem. I don't want to shake hands/paws with a bear but then if I had a choice between a human or a bear breaking into my house, I would choose the bear. It has happened and we just chased them out no biggie. It would be dangerous to t…

It was funny. I just hoped the fox didn't eat the glove and get sick from some leather curing chemicals.

It was the work glove It stole and I never did get it back. I grabbed the shovel to scare the fox off if it got any closer. It was only about 6 feet away.

This ongoing question about bear vs men has really made me think people are unreasonably scared of bears. Of course they can be dangerous but generally they aren't. If you are stuck in the woods with a bear it wouldn't be that big of a deal as the wilderness tends to be huge and you each go your own way. Bears belong in the forest. Stuck in a small enclosure with a bear? No bueno. I like your question and feel a bit more educated about men's points of view but it sounds like they are more concer…

I hadn't heard they love to bite. I've heard they are really curious. I had one come really close to me while I was gardening. I did grab a shovel if he decided to come any closer. Another grabbed a work glove and took off with it so they do seem curious.

I suppose the really horrible things people do make the news as it is rare and bad so it is news. We used to have coyotes around where I live but now we have foxes. They too are kind of fun to see.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/24 12:25 AM

Bears sure can be dangerous but most of the time they aren't. It really depends on the type of bear and the situation. Like OP, I'm in black bear country. It is exciting to see bears. I'm not going to get close to one but I tend to go from window to window when they are around the house. Unfortunately they have gotten into our house twice. Not good but they didn't do any damage. I'd invite you to come check out bears with me but they really are pretty rare to see so I couldn't be any kind of "Ch…

Yep, this is my experience too. I like when I get to see a bear too but it doesn't happen very often and of course, I want to see them from a distance.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/24 10:20 PM

Yeah that would make a difference. A bear in the middle of no where in the forest is not really a big deal. A man wandering around lost in the forest not a big deal either. If he appears to be digging a shallow grave to bury a body, then it is a bit different . . . . .admittedly that is an added ridiculous detail (-;

There certainly are ways to avoid consequences and also the biology is unfair. No matter how many times a man has sex he will never get pregnant, nor go through an abortion or childbirth. By chance a man could have tons of sex and never get anyone pregnant. It is indeed unfair although humans don't arbitrarily pick a man as the father; biology does this. Also men who choose to get vasectomies and follow the proper procedure to insure sterility will not become fathers. Using condoms also cuts dow…

As I mentioned, my country is big on personal responsibility. We do the FAFO thing. A random person hasn't done any FA. The father of a child had sex. Presumably a father of a child who doesn't want children, had sex. A natural consequence of sex is a child. It is just biology. To me Russia invading Ukraine has to do with Russia not Biden. I absolutely agree with you that society thinking some random event is some random person's responsibility is silly. Having sex is a personal choice and the e…

Well I don't see taking responsibility for raising your children the same as being stabbed in the eye. Children take an incredible amount of resources to raise. It is a problem in society. Parents providing for their children is how society usually handles this. From what I understand, some countries collect taxes to support children so less responsibility falls on parents. I live in a country that is big on taking personal responsibility. I'm afraid I don't understand this following: Then why w…

Yes random guy on a trail is no big deal. There is probably some women who would be scared but that would probably be a woman with some crazy ptsd from some past trauma. It does really depend on the circumstances where you are meeting a bear/man. OP, whoever you are, I hope you just do what you can to be a good decent dude. This world needs decent people in a bad way.
