Gun Safety is good. A healthy respect for firearms can keep you alive. Gin prohibition is the equivalent of sticking your head in the sand and hoping no one harms your or yours. Find a gun store with a range near you. Call them to see if they do lessons and schedule one for you and your daughter. As for removing the mind virus years of public school indoctrination has infected her with you will have an uphill battle.

These activities are not merely for fun. These are training exercises. At nine years old your boy should understand that if work is required for rewards. Knowledge is the reward. Skill is the reward. This is where challenging your children's wishes is for their own good. I disliked yard work but I still did it and I now feel more comfortable and confident tackling those tasks as an adult.

First step would be to get him some extracurricular activities that emphasize desired behavior. Martial arts classes can help quiet kids develop confidence. They can also help rambunctious kids develop self control and discipline so perhaps you're daughter could benefit as well. Your boy may benefit from scouting.
