No, the argument about tumblr feminists. In case anybody doesn't know, the No True Scotsman is a logical fallacy wherein instead of a counter example, the previous example should be excluded because of rhetoric. e.g. "They're not true feminists. Real feminists believe x"

Lee and her attorney — along with federal prosecutors — say Welden forged his father's signature on a prescription for Cytotec and relabeled a pill bottle as "Amoxicillin." Cytotec, known also as misoprostol, is a drug used to induce labor.

Oh I'm glad to see we didn't scare you off yesterday. While I didn't agree with everything you said, some stuff I found to be more inline with the truth. I'm glad that you came back. Argue, grow, evolve. That's all we can do as people, so I support criticism in all it's forms as it allows us to take an introspective view on what we are trying to accomplish.

I'm going to disagree with you, for once. I think feminism has a place. I don't think there's really much room for it in modern western society, but where women have no rights? That's a place for it. I don't think that it should tackle issues like being uncomfortable, and I don't think that modern women have much to complain about that can't fall under the bigender experience, but I believe that there should be feminism, if only to have a dissenting voice against an movement that could grow to b…

You know what? I agree. Not everyone here hates feminists or feminism. I agree that radfems shouldn't be considered feminists; the problem being that too many mainstream feminists do. How many is too many? I don't know how many there are out there that agree, but I think 1 is too many, and that's the problem many of the MRM have. Not you, not a lot of people, but these people infect your movment and need to be discredited completely or it is the same as not at all.

I would have done the same thing he did, quite honestly. The lawyers and judges? Yeah, they're responsible. Her? She wanted more 32% of his income, which you can't even get that much in some states. That's true greed right there, I'd say she's about 70% to blame, because it was her actions and her choice. I think the husband tried to be amicable, but her lawyer pushed her to get more and it made him bitter. The lawyer pulled every dirty trick in the book to extend things and make more money, I r…

This is a much better overview. 65k a year is a college technical degree salary added to your income. She got greedy, she thought she could play the system, her lawyer was a scumbag too, but at the end of the day she thought she could do better and went with it. At the end of the day her position in life is her fault. She wanted more than 32.5% of his income. What a fucking leech. Thanks for this.

I see what you did, but the difference being is that I've never run into a creationist that was willing to reason on the most basic levels, I have met feminists that have just been systematically mislead, and have no exposure to the other side of the coin. Thus, I'm merely sharing my own experience, and anything I say should be taken as solely my opinion and nothing else, such as statistics, or other such data. I lack that information, so I continue with what I have. Feel free to correct anythin…

Also a valid point. I can't say that I've ever argued with a creationist, the conversation typically goes like this: "I don't believe in evolution." "Oh, okay." Enter change in topic. You can't argue with people who are unwilling or unable to logically look at things and be dynamic. There are some feminists who have simply been indoctrinated and are unwilling to look at anything that interferes with their worldview, typically they use the zero sum game approach without realizing it. I don't see how that's impressive in the slightest. Most of those types of programs require very little mathematics, science, or critical thinking. A large part of your grade revolves around whether or not you can reiterate a instructor's opinion as a form of monkey see, monkey do. A good high school education in comparison would be harder, as you must take a certain level of math, science, literature, and a second language.

Here's what bothers me about these titles, and occasionally within the articles: the accuser is referred to a as a 'girl' the accused as a 'man'. Are they both not adults and responsible for their actions? Or is one simply determined to be an adult by virtue of what they have between their legs?

Regardless of gender it doesn't matter legally, I had a male friend who made very much the same mistake of giving up cash without a contract to one of his friends, and he lost it all because a lack of proper paperwork. Besides, the business was bought in 2007, which isn't really half her life. In any case I think this is a sensationalist article aimed at inflaming that is purposefully obscuring facts to get more views.

Here's why: She owned no part of the business or home and entered no agreement to do so. Simply put: she's an idiot at best, or feels she is entitled to much more simply by virtue that she was having sex with someone, it rather hard to feel sympathy for someone like that, and very easy to feel derision for her.

I'm going to actually play a bit of devils advocate here in that I think that manhood, and likewise womanhood, is defined by the contrast between men and women; after all if there was only one sex there would be no concept of manhood or womanhood. Now I'm not saying that this isn't misandric, it is, it is only that a society should follow these suggestions regardless of gender, that message being is to respect people, and treat people kindly, something I can really get behind. Treat it like this: you just like to talk to people in general, if you get a number out of it, or a date, or what have you, that's a bonus.

Okay then what's the difference between talking to randoms and talking to girls? Same thing in my book. As for canned material find two or three subject that people find interesting, for me I always talk about psychology, places that I've been, and experiences I've had, and so I always go "Oh hey did you know...ect.. " and then demonstrate some mental trick on them, and I have hours of this kind of stuff memorized. This way I always have something to talk about. Then you can always get them talk…

My suggestion is start talking everywhere to everyone, not just to women. What you really should try and do is get someone to go with you and force you to do something. You give him a 100$ and he donates it to charity or keeps it or whatever. For talking with them, you might want to turn to canned material until you can figure out inter-gender conversational patterns.

I can't seem to find the original source, I'm still looking, however. I believe this one has the logic I described This link has the 105% I can't seem to find the one quoting the 150%(This wiki article mentions it as over a career, but I'm pretty sure it was per salary), it was a few years back and might have been prose, rather then journal paper, however, I'm still trying to dig it up.

This is why I can't stand affirmative action. I'm more of a free market thinker, so I feel if someone is good at doing something they'll have no problem getting a job; affirmative action interferes with this because it says that even if you're better than someone you won't get hired because of your race/ethnicity/sex, which strikes me as ironically bigoted.

Suing. They calculate how much they could likely sue for gender gap pay discrimination; calculate the difference between where it's not easy to see discrimination and where it can be said that she was suitably compensated for her work without a doubt in comparison to her colleges, and they use this to determine how much she would make. Also, because women are rare in technical fields, companies will spring at the chance for them to be seen as diverse and have proof that they are not discriminato…

I went to an engineering meeting in my school, and they were discussing employment for engineers; they are still peddling this myth despite women in engineering and technical fields earning between 105% to 150% [Can't seem to find it per salary] men's salaries. I have to find the link for it, but needless to say I was displeased and vocal about the lies they were spreading. I was asked not to return to any future meetings, which really got me going.

Who is really content in the world? I'm sure they exist, just as I'm sure they're a minority. Take, for example Bill Gates, he's not content with the way the world is, and he has more money than imaginable; something that people say all they need to be content. We all want something, all of us; what I think drives creativity is personal determination. I do agree with you that degree of content will mute personal determination, however, you still see people who are discontent stuck in their same …

I'm not denying that it might have to do with the toys, but creative and creation are not mutually inclusive. Personally, I find, the people that create the most are men. I find this to be a smaller reflection in society. I'm not saying that women are not creative, I'm saying that by and large those that create are men, every thing that I can think of, from the computer I'm typing on, to the table it rests on was designed and built, created, by men.

I'm not denying that women did something. What I'm saying is that the majority was male. Even disenfranchised males, under-educated and given no special advantages can achieve; the contrast being women with high social status were most commonly given piano lessons and yet I cannot think of a single composer or musically talented woman that did not do jazz.

Any argument I can think of would just be petty and nitpicking; all I can say is that you're obviously and outlier in your experiences, and our perspectives are different. What I'm sure we can agree on is that we do need more STEM concentrations, and less emphasis on gender in education.

In high school too, robotics courses and clubs girls left because of lack of interest, and my programming course I took junior year in high school 7 girls came in, only 2 stayed after the first round of grades came through. Rereading the article, I think what she's aiming for is preteen level(Saying "...year 8 is too late."), which is absurd to me; even I didn't have any interest for programming at that age. Robots and mechanics, yes, but that was from playing with transformers. I never held int…

In my opinion and experience I find it has to do with creating something quantifiable; by and large men are more likely to create something then women. Take for example the early 20th century, both black men and women could be said to have had less rights then your white male, however, it was the black man who excelled at creating a new kind of music, jazz. Hence why I get the feeling its a combination of lack of interest, and inherent technical intuition. Not from not being enough done for them…

This article is completely counter to what I have experienced; women who drop out are looking for an easier path, not because of ridicule. The ones who stick with it and do well? They earn the respect of their peers, and have boys fawning over them because they are the only girl in the class. Oh, you're being ridiculed because you're nerdy, have obscure interests, and go against the grain? Must be because you're a woman.

I've considered it. If she has paid for all the things her children need, and let's just say just barely scraping by, then she should put this away for their college education. I can't speak for the rest of the people here, but what really fires me up is the blatant disregard for what the money was intended for; how would you feel if you were forced to pay money to an ex so they can maintain the lifestyle with minimal work on their part, instead of giving your kids every advantage? If this was a…

I rather enjoy how they label this as "progress". I just don't understand why the government has to step in and tell a business who to hire for what position; if it benefits them they're going to be inclined to do it. Unless the government holds a large stake in my company, a disturbing trend actually, who are they to say who I can hire?

My suggestion? Try somewhere else. In my experience I get much more success approaching women on the streets. As they walk by I say something attention grabbing ("killer shoes") and continue a conversation from that stand point. I find that women will just outright reject me in a club or a bar just simply because they can, I've been told this is an ego booster, and when you remove them from that mindset, it becomes harder for them to reject you outright.

To answer your question: No. You want to know the number 1 reason that people have trouble picking up women? The secret to it all? You need to talk to more women. Its that simple, really. If you're not trying to pick up one girl every day, you're not really trying at all. It has nothing to do with style, technique, or how you view women, its the amount you ask. If you go up and say "Wanna fuck?" to enough women one of them will say 'yes'. Now the objective of this subreddit is to allow you to ch…
