I don't know where to start. The left hand challenges the status quo, while the right hand demands men endanger themselves in the traditional ways not required of women.

"In 1972, during the Cold War, three major Olympic titles that had a long history of American success, basketball, 100 meters, and decathlon, were won by Soviet athletes. Winning back the decathlon title made Jenner an American hero." It is likely that if a female defeated the soviets at the height of the cold war she too would be a national hero. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_Jenner#Taking_advantage_of_his_Olympic_fame

If Jenner was a woman at the time the best she could have hoped for was a rich husband. Not necessarily true.

Also, note the inherent sexism of the article: "Japan is extremely unusual in that it is highly educated and wealthy but still has some of the worst systemic gender inequality in the world; it has a European-style economy but South Asian social family mores. Professional women are stuck in the middle of that contradiction." It should say professional women and men are stuck in the middle of that contradiction. This highschool is in Toronto, where students from all over the city can pick which schools they go to. If every highschool in Toronto has a 5:50 ratio, then there are potentially more than enough students to fill the class.

Pure Speculation: Truth, but the discussion for change revolved more around the inclusion of "LGBT's" than "men". /endspeculation

I presume you understand that "bitch" is gendered and "asshole" is not gendered. Language changes over time. Words that meant something 20 years ago can mean something totally different today. "nigger" is the perfect example. Why do black people greet each other happily with this term? Because (to them) it does not mean what it meant 25 years ago. I call my male friends "bitch" all the time. It means "wuss" or "whiny" not "resembling a female dog" (like elizabethian times) or "aggressive female"…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
