Drop your friend. If that is truly want what happened, he is not a friend at all. Friends help you in the dating game not stab you in the back. Also you need to develop skills to combat petty attempts to attack your self worth. If you really had a strong self worth that situation easily could have been turned. If you maintained confidence and blew off what was said, he would look silly and insecure for attacking your character while you look unshakeable. Girls will pick up on that.

If you are as good as you say you are, they will get you back on the list. Hiring and firing costs money, a lot more than people realize. I have been fired/let go on technicalities twice. They were situations where an HR program terminated me as an employee as opposed to someone making the decision to terminate me. Both times I was hired back immediately. I hate to be a dick because you didn't get your contract re-newed, but I wouldn't put this solely on your co-worker's schemes.

Dammit, they are stupid and annoying though. Life is one big Catch-22

Mostly yes, although there are multiple exceptions. This happens to be attractive to me at least initially.

Good call. I think I am considered a nice person. I hesitate to say 'nice guy' because of the ideas attached to that phrase. But yea I am a nice dude most of the time.

And yet they can examine the qualities of their previous partners, and possibly tell you about the men they have chosen in the past.

Fair enough, but I still have females in my life who wish me well with the opposite sex. I think they have an incentive to give me good advice because they care about me as a friend. Just like if I could give them advice on guys, I would be happy to.

This sounds good on the surface, but it is a false comparison. Women choose their partners. Fish are simply caught. They have no choice in the matter.

I would be interested to hear the plethora of reasons you should not accept advice on women from a female. Do you mind writing it out or showing me a reference? Thanks

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
