It’s an odds game fella - you bank your future on someone’s loyalty - a lady with 30 bodies is 10 times likely to fuck about than a lady with 3. Not perfect maths but you get the idea

Yeah - sorry - someone’s drifted away from her - due to her faults - and she’s blaming all of mankind for it

That’s to say you wrote the post because of your personal experience with men on first dates - this is a persistent problem that you have had - one of the reasons for that is the way you talk to people

Because our view of the world comes from our personal experiences

Yeah of course - the way you wrote it has led me to believe that you do not pause long enough for a conversation to take hold, and people soon loose interest

wanting/trying to sleep with you is sexual assault. You are undermining the experience of so many victims by talking so broadly about SA

Like you need to stop, give them time to think about what you said - formulate their own ideas, their responses and then say it.

You don’t leave long enough pauses for people to respond/want to carry on the conversation- you can tell by the way you write

We’ll oppose the draft when the double standard is unavoidable but honestly emotionally we don’t care about 18 year old kids getting blown up half as much as we care about who unloads the dishwasher.

Buddha has been around for 2500 years. Your personal experience backs up everything I have just said so why the reluctance to agree with it ?

Or arguing with someone arguing with someone who is arguing someone, who is arguing with someone arguing about their happiness?

Yep, you’re 100% not wrong. But try not to fall into that victim mentality. Feeling sorry for yourself. Rise above it. Imagine if you were pandered to your whole life. If everyone told you it was everyone else’s fault and never yours….what would you become? It’s the way in which we’re socialised and it might not be fair but you’ll see that over time, it works out best to be told your flaws and how you can develop, rather than being allowed to blame anything other than yourself.

Ta - easier said than done of course. Try not to fall into that victim mentality you see with feminists - it doesn’t matter if you’re a man of or a women if you look for oppression you will find it. Rise above it. Men think women are pandered to more than men are. Women tend to think the opposite. Just acknowledge it, and then rise above it.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/25 05:07 AM

Yeah look when you’re 28 you realise you didn’t have much to offer when you were 18. The power imbalance balances out around that age and starts ticking the other way. Spend those years trying to get somewhere in life. Read as much as you can, work out and try to be kind.

….as for the misogyny, I’d be happy to hear why you think that ? But I gta warn you, I think you’re going to pretend this thread says something it doesn’t, create a straw man and point at that instead
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/25 12:30 PM

Yeah, you don’t know. You’re just angry and you don’t really understand why. Which again is fine. There are biologically factors in all behaviour. We’re both smart enough to know that so that’s not your issue. And modern feminism is amorphous. We both know that as well, so my interpretation of it is neither here or nor there.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/25 12:29 PM

Yeah sorry the title is a little misleading - this is suppose to be an explanation as to why men shouldn’t feel obligated to be feminists. I had to change the title to get it through and now it’s a bit confusing.🫤

Look, I’ll be honest with you…I don’t think you know what your issue is with that sub. Which is okay. It’s okay if something annoys you and you don’t really know why.

/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/25 10:14 AM

Very coherent - loved that 😇 So the gender roles themselves are not the issue, it’s the reaction of society towards people who do not conform? Or did I oversimplify?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/25 05:40 AM
1

Yeah exactly and if we focused on the issues of gun control and police brutality rather than polarising it through race - there may have been some real change.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/25 04:30 AM
2

Yeah you make a good point - but I would argue that even at a theoretical level there are some really serious holes in feminist theorist’s ideas. Namely the idea of a double bind being exclusive to women - Goldilocks successfully applies it to porridge and the very notion that societal structures have been designed by men to oppress women when elements of education, health-care and criminal justice favour women. So yep of course the mindless spoutings of internet forums and social media posts bu…

Not one that wouldn’t lead us to being petty. The original argument is that it’s okay not to be feminist. The comment that you’ve written isn’t a rebuttal of the argument (which is my fault because I didn’t make it clear).

Feminism is also mostly nonsense at a theoretically academic level. The double bind theory - regurgitated in Barbie and the cause of a whole new wave of victimhood….If that theorist ever heard Goldilocks poor lad would just break down 😤

This post was originally about why it’s acceptable for men not to identify as feminists. After being removed from multiple subreddits, I made several attempts to resubmit it, but ultimately, the title was changed and did not reflect the original purpose of the post. Nevertheless, thank you for the comments thus far which unknowingly provide support for the argument.

The truth is you are not going to go into detail about all of the sexual partners and the horrible ways in which they came to be when you first start dating someone. He’s opened up to you a bit more as the relationship has developed and he really wants to be honest with you; he wasn’t completely honest with you and it ate away at him a bit and even though he risked losing you he felt it important to tell you the whole truth, so that he didn’t have to carry it around with him for effectively the …
