| 4 | The Unfairness between Men and Women (Me and my Sister)Not my experience. Got a divorce and was suddenly single at 51. I was treated very poorly by women close to my age. Surprisingly I found that it been decided for me by some benevolent god that my new “league” was college educated women aged 25-35yo and not single moms, these were ones with no kids or ex husbands. I was like WTF. Ok fine. I am in an amazing relationship with a high sex drive much younger woman now. Quite an upgrade from age appropriate ex-wife with a dead bed | /r/MensRights | 14/06/25 04:52 AM |

To add insult to injury my ex does not have claim it as income on her taxes.Child support has not been deductible for 70 years I think. Alimony stopped being deductible in 2022 I think, which was the implementation of the 2017 TCJA to divorces after 1/2019. Here in California the standard practice is the Child Support goes through garnishment, there may be ways to pay it monthly to the county but that is not standard. For alimony once the receiver has a judgment for alimony, even for temporary support while in process, they take the order to the county and they do the r… | /r/MensRights | 23/05/25 05:34 AM |

To add insult to injury my ex does not have claim it as income on her taxes.Haha I understand. Appreciate your honesty. I am trying to bring more visibility to what I think is something egregious. One aspect of this I didn’t mention is that one of the stated goals of the change was that to correct for missing money. I.e. payers over repot and receivers under report. IRS sees the math doesn’t math. HOWEVER, in many states now, California included, the county collects either through garnishment or you send the money to the county who then keeps track of it and sends it on… | /r/MensRights | 23/05/25 05:04 AM |

To add insult to injury my ex does not have claim it as income on her taxes.I didn’t complain about paying I am complaining about OVERPAYING. The spilt is not equal she is got more hard assets than I did and she gets more pay than I get. 50/50 would be a good starting point. In three years my kid turns 18 and child support will end. 2000 Dollars a month is Too Much child support. I already know it cost about 500 a month to have the kid live with me. Not sure why it’s 2000 a month. Even 1000 would be more reasonable. | /r/MensRights | 22/05/25 10:02 AM |

To add insult to injury my ex does not have claim it as income on her taxes.Well the divorce started and then COVID hit and all paperwork slowed to a crawl. After all the battles it took two years to get it final. I didn’t pay monthly rent directly, they did a calculation at the end for what I owed the estate for “beneficial use of an asset” (the paid off house) and she got a line item of 30K against my side of the ledger which was half the “lost rent” minus taxes and fire insurance that I paid. To add insult to injury my ex does not have claim it as income on her taxes.Well child support hasn't been deductible for a long time, but up until a couple years ago, alimony was deductible by the payer and had to be claimed as income by the receiver. The payer is the party with more income. So consider now with the new laws, the payer has to pay taxes on the whole amount at a higher income tax bracket than if the alimony was deductible.
