You have to be a "resident" for 90 days prior to even petitioning, at least in our home state. That would fuck up my tax situation royally. I doubt the family court system talks much to the IRS, but it would be hard to claim to live in the US for 90 days in court, then claim I don't live in the US for taxes. In Guam it's just 7 days, but Guam has some negatives for me. Really, I think any country would work and I wouldn't mind "greasing the wheels" a few hundred bucks just to get it done.

For fun and profit, obviously. Cat people are obsessive and have disposable income. I might invest in that.

That movie was surprisingly Red Pill about certain things. I do feel like the idea that there's a proposal timeline is one thing a lot of men are waking up to. Hey, guys, don't want to marry the bitch? DON'T! And if you do want to marry the bitch, educate yourself on how fucked family law is. Even a prenup won't save you. Use her reaction as a litmus test; if she freaks out, now's a great time to GTFO of that toxic relationship.

Man oh man I'm glad I went to college before they were this bad.

I'm over 20 years older than you, and here's what I would say with that experience. Your looks don't matter much. They matter some, because they help create that first impression, but confidence matters more -- specifically how quick you respond. You gotta be quick. Later on (as you get older) money starts to matter to women; at your age, it doesn't. Yes, it's way too much work to get a girlfriend, as you are now but here's the thing it's actually going to get hard to not get a girlfriend. Girls…

Interesting wording on the headline: Here's how much Amazon stock MacKenzie Bezos will own after giving 75% of their stake to Jeff (AMZN) Emphasis mine.

The ultimate irony is that most of her "dating pool" will be divorced men who have no money because of other women like her.

She was an administrative assistant at Microsoft. But now she helps spend his money.

There was actually a pretty big gap between Melinda and Ballmer. Ultimately I think Gates realized his "era" was over -- his mission was a PC on every desktop running Microsoft software -- something he largely accomplished. When the computing world evolved to the post-PC era, he re-dedicated his life to something new and actually, his foundation does a lot of genuine good worldwide; I admire it. He's also brought his analytical acumen to charity, looking scientifically at the overall effectivene…

As a tourist, I would agree: get out there and fucking enjoy the new culture! Don't go to a stupid chain. But as an expat, eh, sometimes you want familiarity. Besides, if you don't want to wait around 10 minutes for hipster barista work ethics to kick in, Starbucks is a lot more efficient.

Married guy here. Can confirm. It's sort of like asking someone who has cancer how it's going. Do you want the real answer or the polite one?

Being a single mom means you have enormous responsibility. It doesn't mean that you're up for it. It's sort of like saying you have $40,000 in credit card debt. Maybe you're going to work hard and pay that off in 3 years. Or maybe you're at the mall because your handbag isn't in style anymore.

Women who go out of their way to announce that they're single moms are the /r/niceguys of womanhood. Don't get me wrong; it's hard to be a single parent of either gender. Sometimes it happens through the best of intentions and bad luck, more often it happens because younger women are reckless and irresponsible, but the outcome is the same: enormous responsibility. Then you have a situation where a girl who couldn't be responsible enough to use protection is somehow in charge of a human being's w…

It's the same for entertainers as everyone else, they just have more money. When half your money is half your money, your profession hardly matters. You think you'll be happy, that you're "locking in" a lifetime of companionship, friendship, sex, support, and intimacy. You see a portrait -- painted by society -- of two loving partners, growing old together, supporting each other through hard times and laughing together in the good times. You want to be surrounded by loving children and grandchil…

You'd think having a wife and/or cohabiting would reduce expenses because there's two of you, right? Like roomates? You'd be wrong.

/r/entitledparents There's some kind of multiplication factor of being already entitled, then adding "being a mom" to that.

A few years ago there were a few things floating around the news about a "financial abortion" option for men... Nothing came of it, apparently.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
