For me, I was in a daze and kinda numb during those things. Sure they sucked and I was a mess but real pain was after we both signed and eventually it was finalized and the reality of it sunk in. We had just moved across the country to start this new chapter and she blindsided me. That was about 3 years ago. The intense pain and hopelessness is temporary. It does get easier. I’ve dealt with loss and grief enough that I knew it would happen and actually journaled about not looking forward to right after she ended things.
