Also kid’s modeling a toxic relationship is worse than divorce.

You can move on by realizing she is a complete idiot but outing herself by mistake or if she disclosed the first date purposely- a freaking sociopath. Maybe both. You should be thanking God every day you did not have children with this woman. You’re young and there is plenty of time for you to meet an emotionally mature, kind, loving human.

I think this is confusing for kids. Two happy homes are better than one tense one. Make your own traditions.

Hi I was married to a clinically depressed covert narcissist who also had incredible anger issues and told me he felt no connection to me. (Hi! I’m your wife, mother of your children and the breadwinner). We were living separate lives entirely. I’m quite sure he cheated a few times. TBH I didn’t care. Very telling. I met a man through 2018 midterm election work and we hit it off. So much in common, so smart, so funny. Very handsome. Didn’t talk about our family lives at all. Just close friends. …

As a woman I have definitely seen this trend. I tell my girls to NEVER EVER be financially dependent of anyone else. There are a lot of women who are pissed that they have to work and that’s not fair. You’re an adult. Support yourself.

He was bipolar and very difficult. Very glass half empty and nothing good enough. I was primary breadwinner and caregiver and stuck it out for kids, no one in my family had been divorced. My parent were very happily married. I thought it would get better when he got meds right. It didn’t. He started the discussion about “not feeling connected” we went to therapy, he couldn’t look at his own parents dysfunction and mental struggles in relation to us. I always said “I love you, let’s work on it.” …

As a divorced woman who played the typical part of the man (and the woman!) in the marriage, I’m noticing a significant trend here. Toxic women/wives are horny for Disney. Big red flag, fellas.

This except sometimes it’s the man who doesn’t contribute financially or otherwise and then realizes that he had it pretty good and pissed it all away. I’m so much happier now.

Yes. Dumb AF. You’ll be screwed if you do this alone. Worth every penny.

Actually I was freelancing PT but went back to work FT to support myself and stay in the house because I’m a capable adult with a degree.

Good lord. I’m an ex wife that didn’t go for alimony or child support, just want to split expenses with 50/50 custody. This seems excessive and cruel. I’m sorry.

As a recently divorced woman, you’re being screwed, sir. Those are big figures. Lawyer up.

Also the longer you are married the better for her. She will never file. Do it now.

Yeah. What Plebe says. It’s so much better on the other side. You can do hard things.

Hey, Person with a vagina here. I am divorcing someone with a penis who is acting the same entitled way. Trying to lobby for more equity in the house even though the downpayments were from stock accounts in my name that existed before we married. The entitlement comes from their flawed personalities, not genders.
