(sigh) you're the one who called it a collective decision, not me--but hey, I get it, you need to backtrack, there's no shame in that. 😊 and here I am again, helping you out a second time! Two outcomes that are the same, in fact have nothing whatsoever to say about the sameness or difference of their causes--a basic easy example is a set of identical twins that both lost 20 lbs, one from diet and exercise and one from having his leg amputated. So it's not too interesting to read someone trying t…

..."women have collectively decided to" and "women feel pressure to fit into the group" are really two very, very different statements.

My ex-bestie's boyfriend did (possibly/maybe/probably still does?). I only know the answer to some of your questions: Why did he purchase an OnlyFans subscription: All I know is why she thought he did it, and I have no idea if any of those reasons were accurate or not, so I won't speculate since you're clearly looking for hard data here How much did he spend on it: $50-$100 per month, I do know that one for sure! Was it worth it: oof well, I would say he thought "Yes" for sure BEFORE she knew ab…

I'm pretty sure that there is no collective decision made by women about any subject whatsoever and never has been. You're kidding, right? 🤣 (and if you're not, how do I get the invite to the female hivemind, because I haven't yet and that's a real oversight)

“Heterosexual” doesn’t mean “attracted to every single member of the opposite sex.” It really, really really doesn't, though oddly, I have met a fair number of heterosexual men who think that it should mean that for heterosexual women. Which then made me wonder...are *they* attracted to every single woman...?

omg, does someone think men are more empathetic than women? LOL

They really don't. It's amazing how clueless so many men are about that.

Well, they don't exclusively call sleeping around those things, lol. They call any number of activities those things. That is but one activity a woman might call "finding herself" or "healing." For such a woman, possibly she was stuck in a relationship where she was made to feel incredibly unattractive, she's finally out of it, and this is an act of self-validation (have seen this in several friends). Another possibility is that she was widowed with small children after her husband's lengthy ill…

Yeah, I wouldn't understand that "subtle hint" either, I'd either throw out the obv. dead flowers and be on my merry way or I'd figure she had some reason for keeping them (who knows what artsy-crafty people need at any given moment? etc.) and ignore them too. This is hilarious, does anyone seriously think that another person is responsible for picking up on their "subtle hints" or, wth is wrong with just telling someone outright that you want something...?

Yeah, after reading this, I don't think my husband IS actually "obsessed" with me; I think he's just devoted to me. Okay, now I'm happy today. 💕

Hmm. I sort of want to weigh in on this and sort of don't. Like, I'm not exactly sure if my husband is obsessed with me or not. He says he is (but he may not really be serious? but he's the sort of person that does tend to get obssessed with things in general so maybe he is serious?) but he for sure does NOT stalk me (at least not that I'm aware of and honestly, I'm boring as shit, anyone can stalk me and would totally quit of their own accord within days because zzzzzzzzz). My first husband complained constantly about my cleaning too, most notably stating on multiple occasions that if HE did the cleaning then the whole place would be immaculate. I was quite pleased to see, after we divorced, one day when I was picking up the kids (we had shared custody) and had to come inside for some reason or other, that it was an absolute total sloppy mess in all directions. 😈

I find competence to be sexually and romantically attractive. It almost doesn't matter what the focus of said competence is (I am COMPLETELY sure that somebody on here could find something that would be an exception lol--like honestly, I think taxidermy is kind of gross, I'm not really sure even incredibly competent taxidermy would flip my switches)--it's been physical activities, it's been mental activities, it's been combo activities, and it almost always has prickled my sexual/romantic intere…

I have a few bisexual family members and they've both told me (they're female) that gay women don't prefer to date bisexual women either. Apparently there's some feeling of "lacking authenticity" or "caving to heteronormativity" or some such...(note: straight men, according to them, while having 0 issues with dating a bisexual woman, do have a tendency to either not take it seriously or regard it as a sexual fantasy just waiting to happen)

I don't think you're right about the US; I just Googled it: "In New Jersey, a suit to establish paternity must be brought within five years after the child reaches adulthood, i.e. 18...In Kentucky, the statute of limitations is 18 years after the birth of the child...In Michigan the statute of limitations for bringing a paternity suit is when the child reaches the age of 18..." etc. etc. Clearly people have put some thought into this, is what I'm saying, it just doesn't strike me as an unexplore…

Right, that's why breast implants exist, because women are loved unconditionally. 🤣 ...I promise you, women are not loved unconditionally, not by men and not by each other. Admittedly, your children up through like, age 8 or so, love you unconditionally! And your dogs. Definitely your dogs!

I wouldn't necessarily say that "using OnlyFans is pro-feminist!" 🤣I mean, it's totally fine by me if you do (normally I'd say it's none of my biz that you use OnlyFans regardless of your reasons! but you know, you're kinda put it all out here for weighing in so, I'm weighing in) but it's hardly equivalent to striking a blow for women's empowerment. I don't necessarily prioritize political alignment (and I can back this up--fairly liberal Democrat that I am, all three of my husbands past and present were at some point registered Republicans), but I definitely prioritize whether or not a man has negative issues with women as a gender (regardless of whether or not said man declares with great sincerity that I am different! and not like other women! and eh, meh. I think this is really more a question for men; I'm not sure women have a huge amount of insight into what men's role is in the worldwide birthrate drop are, because honestly, men are somewhat peripheral to it. Men are obviously not peripheral to women's ability to physically conceive children (lol!) but, said worldwide birthrate drop is overwhelmingly driven by women's personal decisions to limit their own childbearing, and I haven't seen any evidence anywhere that these decisions are in any si…

I mean, we've been married for 13 years, I feel like if it was ever gonna get weird, it probably already would have? To date, no man has ever been so nurturing towards me that it had a negative impact on my sexual attraction to him. No man in my life has ever made breakfast and lunch every day (spoiler: I don't make breakfast and lunch every day either) but, as something kinda close, my husband makes tacos one night a week every week, his tacos are SPECTACULAR and the only impact it ever has on me is a 100% positive mismash of hunger and adoration, lol.

/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/25 02:48 PM

The "negging" thing always amazed me as something that worked for or on anyone, because I was always so uncertain about how attractive I was to any particular man at any given moment that if he gave me the impression he didn't think I was all that to him, I'd totally agree with him, clearly I am not worthy of you! and instantly move on, lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/25 02:47 PM

I am sad to have to contradict you, but 5'9" 195lb men do look like they're overweight. They don't look morbidly obese, no (I mean, cause they're not!) but they all have big ol' double chins and more than a hint of manboobs. It's not an objectively sexy look. Edited to add: Gaah, I'm SO UNCOMFORTABLE with having said this, I do not believe in picking on people because of their looks! my need for accuracy in perceptions drove me to it. Well, I'm probably not the best person to be answering here, as my "BC" (lol!) isn't anywhere near high enough to be a statistically significant sample of the adult male population...not to mention that my answer is probably not even remotely helpful, as in my experience, not only does it vary wildly from guy to guy, but it can vary wildly FOR the same guy. Mostly it seems super man-centric to me, which means you know, there's not a lot there for me personally so I'm not particularly compelled to make a study of it. I admit to a weird fascination sometimes about what y'all will all say next, sort of like the fascination that prods you to peek sideways at a really horrific highway pileup as you inch past it during rush hour.

I gotta tell ya that modifying your apparent personality and it coming off as genuine is really not impossible at all. Nonromantic example, but I am by nature extremely introverted, managed to pick up a massive dose of social anxiety in the course of growing up, and honestly don't care much for most people period. However, I also wanted to succeed in corporate America, and I'm female, which meant I needed to become sweet, charming, outgoing and above all, warm, and also, I needed to be able to d…

OH you mean "in dating." I thought you meant "in life," lol. Because I'd totally rather be a man professionally! It's pretty easy. Take gender out of it and realize that not everyone who is nice to you is being more than simply polite, and if they actively express a desire for your company outside of whatever context you're in that isn't giving them a choice about having your company, then you know they actually do like you and want to be your friend. I totally didn't get this at all til the second paragraph, when I realized what you meant was, sympathy won't get you any dates. Ah-ha! Yep, you're right, it won't. I mean, that's not what it's for at all. Does someone think it will? I honestly thought people wanted sympathy to help them with their feelings of sadness specifically, lol, not as a dating tactic.

Haha, is this a serious question? It's not my child and my womb isn't someone else's rent-an-incubator (or even worse here because it sounds like I'm not even the recipient of any $$$). Completely agree with this--I am not interested in bowling or baseball and my husband is not interested in writing speculative fiction, but we are each other's most dedicated cheerleaders on those subjects, always ready for lengthy discussions of the same with the other, and probably know more about them than anyone who doesn't actually do them themselves at this point! 😁

I wanted to be a man when I grew up, when I was a kid--not a gender-dysphoric kind of way, I accepted I was a woman the same way I accepted that my eyes were blue and I was taller than average and etc. But in a societal-role kind of way. Not just any man, though, a specific kind of man--heroic and stoic, strong and brave and true, a great provider, a pillar of strength in times of adversity. I still so admire men like that.

Well, there's a time and place for everything, lol. When you're in a serious, committed relationship with someone, preparing to marry (or cohabitate, if you're not the marrying types), you should discuss and come to an agreement on many issues prior to taking that next step forward. I have no problem with men finding younger women (though I do mean *women* here, not adolescents) more physically attractive than older women, because mostly they are, let's be realistic here. It only starts to squick me out if there are *other* factors at play besides the physical, like any creepy daddy-daughter vibes or deliberate efforts to secure a heavily psychologically imbalanced relationship or etc. etc.

Okay, so most young straight women make all sorts of bad decisions < age 25 due to immaturity and lack of life experience. ....like most young straight men do... so I don't think I'd categorize any straight woman who did any of the stuff you list at least once in her life as the "kind of woman a man shouldn't want." I have no idea how this translates to privilege for anybody of any gender, lol.

Well, I'm only speculating here to some extent because I have 0 tattoos, lol, but I think I don't actually care too much about "being perceived as easy." I'm totally uninterested in trying to meet someone else's arbitrary sexual purity standard--I honestly can't imagine why I'd want to? Truly sounds like a "them" problem, not a "me" problem...maybe if I had some kind of interest in pursuing an emotional relationship with someone who equates tattoos to a lack of sexual discriminatory taste, I wou…

Honestly, it really depends on the list of points presented, lol. It would be 100% possible for someone to present a list of feminist points and a list of manosphere points and for me to disagree with ALL of them...it's so point-specific!

I feel like you're deliberately avoiding the actual point, but that's okay because maybe I'm just not understanding where you're coming from here--but then, I don't have a lot of emotion associated with the argument, and likely you do (I certainly would have a lot of emotion if my employer decided that room, board, clothes and use of a car was equivalent to paying me actual money! but luckily, in my state, that's not legally a decision they can make!).

Well, I mean, it makes sense that anybody would be more likely to make a request of someone they'd think would be more likely to grant it. At least it makes sense to me!

Well, the above is definitely in no way exact numbers, as regional differences across the US can be huge, variability in the number of children in a household can be significant, and the cost of living with and without children is, let's just say, not remotely the same number (I did sit down once and figure out roughly how much money I've spent on my three children over my lifetime and OMG). But aside from all that, the main point remains the same--room, board, clothing and the use of a vehicle …

Yeah, but somehow your argument here is changing from the original "being a SAHP is JUST as fiscally compensating as a salaried job because you get room, board, clothes and the use of a car" to the new "being a SAHP is so emotionally rewarding to me personally that I'd rather do that than have a salaried job." The latter may well be true, but has really nothing to do with whether or not room, board, clothes and the use of a car are actually equivalent compensation for work to an actual salary...…

"Mom still has a good driving vehicle a place to live, food, family, clothes" Sounds good, so let your boss know that you no longer want to be given a salary, just room, board, clothing and the use of a car. ...no? 🤣

I tend to shuttle between "insanely high maintenance" and "no maintenance," depending on the specific situation...I'd say I'm 90% "no maintenance" and 10% "insanely high maintenance," lol. I have no issues whatsoever with either label.
