Stop eating refined carbs Carbs aren't unhealthy; go for starchy carbs high in fiber (brown bread, brown rice, sweet potato, etc.) At the end of the day portion control is what's important. Make sure you eat enough of the right things or you may get an Eating Disorder.

Agreed. Somewhat, depends to be fair. Generalising doesn't help. Some are fucking amazing woman, others are just straight up misandrists. It's all based on the "type" that suits you I guess

For me, just observe what they're doing at the time and form a dialogue through there. I have ASD so sometimes it's the only way to feasibly start a conversation without being to overt and it's shows surface level interest at the least.
