I think this is a very well articulated question and I struggle to come up with a singular answer for it. I know about me, but in terms of societally I can only guess how other women interpret it. When I think of men openly desiring women…I think there is a way for that to be construed positively. Obviously some see it as negative, and I see a lot of rhetoric online about never be with a man who’s “lustful”. That’s some puritanical bullshit that I never cared for. But a positive way to view open…

This is the only response here I’ve seen that has well thought out compatibility requirements. Relationships aren’t just two people with traits coming together, but two people with wants and needs that shouldn’t be in opposition. Most everyone else here is proving op right

I’m assuming you must be very young and/or inexperienced to be so sure on that one. Compromise can only go so far because there are genuine incompatibilities where there is no answer that makes both happy, it’s an either or scenario. You can communicate again and again and still arrive at the conclusion that you want very different things that do not fit together. I am a woman who does not want children. Believe me, there are a lot of men I can take out of my dating pool on that fact alone. Ther…

The rest isn’t fluff….it’s part of building a mature and lasting relationship in making sure you are actually compatible with the other person and can build a life you enjoy together. You might be exactly who OP is talking about

And that insecurity is also definitely a driver of violence against women. One of the main ones in my opinion. But that’s also a feminist talking point, so I do agree that said by someone in the wrong spaces will absolutely be shut down or weaponized. Feminists have been saying for decades now that even in sexual violence, true desire is not what pushes someone towards offending, It’s often resentment and wanting to feel power over that person. It’s not born out of boundary-less people who can’t…

I’m glad to see we’ve found lots of common ground. I think where we are still differing probably comes down more so to being different genders and having different experiences in that regard, as well as being from different generations. You being a father to a daughter is definitely going to impact the way you see the women’s movement because you not only exist alongside women, you raised one and feel protective towards her. It’s a scary world for women regardless, but redpill has definitely mad…

Hey it happens, and good on you for recognizing it. I’ve made arguments on this sub that I’m not proud of out of wanting to defend my experience as well. For what it’s worth I don’t see this as a silly spat, and I get drawn into conversations like this a lot. That’s where the work gets done and I enjoy it for the most part. I also enjoy debate in general a lot, so don’t feel like you’re wasting my time or energy. And I 100% get needing to take a break from the sub. I have done it, will again at …

Good to know that you haven’t encountered much hypergamy, and congrats on the long marriage. I can’t imagine being with someone that long because 23 years is how long I’ve been on this earth. So where it comes to marriage dynamics or even longterm relationship dynamics I cannot speak to it the way you probably could. I hear some of the frustration with women, and apparently your wife, having dual mating strategy. That’s one of the things that I’ve seen in my own life. Not just in women around me…

Well it’s good that you would not be pedantic with women who have been attacked, and I understand that arguments saying “men are rapists” are used to completely shut down counterpoints at times. That being said, you used the not all men argument with me, and I was simply saying that we often do have to act like it is all men for safety purposes, so that language does not literally mean all men but also shouldn’t have to be changed just because it hurts feelings. When calling out a pattern of soc…

I answered your question to satisfaction, we are being protected by protective men by other harmful men, and there is no reliable difference that we can point to so we can differentiate those groups. You want to argue just statistics fine, but you’re missing the crux of the argument that we have to act like it is all men. It is because we can’t tell the difference, and will be blamed if we assume safety and get harm instead. Have a nice manhood
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/26 06:21 PM

And it’s very telling that when women are complaining about rapists and abusers, instead of listening to their experiences, you are picking apart their phrasing because you feel offended by something that is not a factually incorrect statement. “All men are dangerous” is factually incorrect and easily disproven. If you took issue with just that, I’d have to agree with you. But “men are dangerous” is not an absolutist statement. It doesn’t exist in opposition to men being protectors or even harml…

Then what are they looking for? Because that’s a very irrelevant response to someone critiquing specific behaviors of men. Protectiveness existing in some men does not negate the existence of violence in others. That’s why “not all men” is not an appropriate response. It’s enough of them to be a societal problem, and the emphasis on the ones who aren’t doing the bad things should not be the priority thing in a conversation about solutions, or hell even a conversation complaining about the proble…

But again, that demographic is still men. And men outside of said demographic can and do also harm women. So my point still stands…..we are being protected from other men by the men who do protect. Men being protective is not a negation of men being a threat. And out and about, we are not sure who the men we need to be cautious around are. And women who are harmed are often blamed for not being cautious enough, so then that fear and consideration needs to be applied to anyone who could potential…

Men also need protection from animals and natural disasters….which is why we have shelter and disaster relief. Do they just rescue women? Are houses just for women? We are all humans with some level of vulnerability to the elements and that is not gender specific. As for the weights thing….ok??? A man is getting shit for not helping someone he could have helped in a public scenario when they were struggling. Unfortunate for him but it is considered good social graces to help when you can. I understand it as some men are protectors, but when women are discussing fears of men and that they have to protect themselves as if it is all men, the response of “men are your protectors” is not helpful/tries to flip into being grateful to men rather than fearful. Which in a lot of situations is very valid to be fearful.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/03/26 09:26 PM

It’s a very common thing to say in response to women saying men are abusive or dangerous. They hit us back with “men are your protectors. Without us you wouldn’t be safe”. To which we then say…..who are we being protected from then? It’s not other women….

That is extremely accurate to my personal experience as well. I went to a college with all gender neutral bathrooms and its the only like that in my state, so the population was overwhelmingly trans. It’s not the actual transgenderness that would make me not want to date someone, it’s the drama that comes along with it. The specific complaints I’ve seen is that the “I am the prize” mentality these women are out and proud about having is leading to entitlement, that they think they deserve everything, “princess treatment” included. I’ve also seen it called sexist because these women are approaching relationships as if they are the prize, and that must mean they devalue their male partners. I agree with some of the criticisms here. Viewing yourself as the prize in a relationship context is a little weird. Yes kno…

I wanna know more about the “I am the prize” because that’s something that has been a popular saying within pink pilled feminism recently and RP men have complained about it. Is it the same concept or is there a difference between the two that’s making it so bothersome?

You have no respect for the views any woman might hold on dating just because she’s a woman…..in a world where they are half of the dating market. Even when they are (I assume) the only population you are trying to date and maybe their views on things are valuable information. Couldn’t possibly be the reason you aren’t finding success.

I think it might be genuinely hard to tell who is actually redpill in redpill spaces given that blackpillers have such a wide ban on Reddit. As someone newer to this debate and worldview, I had such a hard time deciphering what the hell redpill actually was, because so many supposed “redpillers” would only argue blackpill points. I think they’re just venting their blackpill frustrations under the security of a redpill flair, and it’s making redpill doctrine confusing to define. Never thought I’d…

I’ve experienced this personally and I will never be able to look at motherhood the same. A few years ago I got accidentally pregnant by a boyfriend and it was non-viable/I had to terminate. I found out directly after this that I had a condition that would make me more at risk for pregnancy issues and even risk my life If I decided to have kids. So I made the decision to never try to have kids biologically and was looking into permanent birth control methods. The way my partner at the time took …

I repeated it multiple times because this it is a direct quote from you that good faith arguments are a two way street of statements being made. I needed to state that is fundamentally untrue. Good faith arguments can be asking for more examples/critiques of the argument rather than opposing stances, given that they are fair criticisms. You at least now seem to be back tracking on that very indefensible untrue statement that all arguments in good faith are opposing statements being made. And no,…

I was defending to another commenter that asking for more examples is not bad faith arguing, because someone else asked for more examples. When he provided them in an edit, they deleted the comment. I’m not asking for proofs as some clueless overlord, I’m saying that it’s not wrong to request proofs for the statement “every other Netflix show does X”. I never claimed there were only two examples, just stated he provided only two. It is not bad faith to ask for more than two examples to back up a claim like “every other tv show does x thing”. If he wants to claim this is a cultural phenomenon, the burden of proof is on him.

None of these people have argued in bad faith. If he wants to say it’s every other tv show currently he should be able to provide more than two examples, it’s kind of the point of his argument. Funny joke, but the premise of that joke only works if the overall power structure is matriarchal or patriarchal. A woman having power over another woman is not an incidence of matriarchy, nor is a man having power over another man an incidence of patriarchy, it is the society overall that makes it so. And particularly, in this instance, I have to remind you that the women doing this mostly are mothers. Mothers having power over their children isn’t matriarchy, that’s parenthood. No more than fa…

I’d look forward to people assuming I’m capable and not judging my capacity for anything on the basis of my sex. Some examples I can think of in my academic life are once when I was in high school and my coding team was doing a state competition. I was the only girl on my team (one of the only two girls in the whole competition) and I was asked by one of the judges jokingly if I was my team's “cheerleader”. This brings me back to the man vs. bear. Yes. But by matriarchal I just mean 'a society that values female lives more, and is designed to benefit them'. Once again you seem to at least partially be focused on semantics, that maybe my definition doesn't live up to your precise academic definition, but this is how I use the term. This is a logical fallacy as well. It’s called the definist fallacy. Generally not using the actual definitions of words when defending your argument is considered dishonest. If, hypothetically, men were more likely to be victims of sexual assault, and it turned out it was women whistling at them, and that's all it was ever, whereas women got far more brutal crimes committed against them, would you think it was equivalent? In that case I would also say it's silly and meaningless to say that 'sexual violence against men is high' when comparing it to what women face. The difference between rape and murder is not as extreme as that but the point stands. The difference i…

So I don’t know what position you’re arguing against but it sure as hell isn’t mine. I’ve openly stated I disagree with what you claim I’ve stated. I brought up the Taylor and Francis study to show that sexist things have been said to women by male judges, and they have not been punished for it. I answered your direct question about judges showing preferential treatment openly to their own gender. I wonder how much they had to torture the data to come to these sorts of conclusions (actually nvm looks like they didn't really use proper data. Now onto egalitarianism. I don’t care what's socially mocked, If I believe it I follow it anyways. Groups being mocked for being egalitarian shouldn’t define themselves otherwise because of social stigma. I will say though, that I agree with you that I don’t think the goal of feminism is to be egalitarian overall. Now onto male victims of child rape and statutory rape having to pay child support, I have a lot to say on this matter. We’re in agreement more than you might think and in disagreement more than you might think. The way the family court system is set up is as “child centered”. Child support is not enforced on parents for being absentee as a punishment, it is legally understood as being the right of the child to be financially supported. It is this way for mothers as well, who do pay child suppor…

Now, the titanic. Yes, the infamous phrase “women and children first” as a maritime evacuation protocol has been scrutinized over and over by MRA. I would argue that it comes from the same place as why men were conscripted and not women. In a disaster scenario, men who were more “physically capable”, and as you put it yourself have superior strength, had a better chance of swimming to survival than women did. And that talking point of gendered unfairness was actually used pretty viciously to opp…

I have a lot to say so this response might take a few comments. Starting from top to bottom. On the AI study and your assertion that academia has an overt left wing bias and publishes studies to preserve its agenda, I have to disagree. And no, not because “reality has a left wing bias”. It’s about how real science needs to uphold methodological standards for findings to hold their ground, and for them to be published in peer reviewed spaces. Peer review publication isn’t about agreeing or disagr…

Rape is a category of sexual assault, and considered the highest extent a sexual assault can be classified. When you advocate for paternity fraud to be legally prioritized over sexual assault, rape is included in that. And rape specific cases, again, affect women 90% more. Again not responding to my argument whatsoever. Not a single thing to say about what a legal precedent it sets to punish paternity fraud over more severely than sexual assault? Nothing to say about how that would disproportionately impact women? Gotcha Yes it is financial harm as well, same as evading child support. Rape primarily impacts women, with about 90% of victims being female. So when you bring up sexual assault, don’t be surprised when people point out the gender it primarily affects. And can you respond to my point at all? I stated it fairly plainly below in response to another commenter. No it doesn’t make me sound stupid. 90% of rape victims are women, so I’ll call it a women’s issue all I like. Of course men can get raped, but we are disproportionately affected. But I brought up it being a women’s issue primarily for a reason, so let’s see if you can actually engage with the content of my comment rather than the wording. You had me until the “than sexual assault” part. One of them is a lie, and a life altering soul crushing one at that. They deserve financial compensation for about what 18 years of child support would be. But to say that it should get a sentence higher than sexual assault is crazy. A violent crime that leaves many with ptsd, and a life altering trauma of having their autonomy completely disregarded. That’s not a light thing by any means. When you brought up men being the majority perpetrators as a way for me to “generalize men”, I felt that was very disingenuous. One its not a generalization, its the statistics. Bringing those statistics up doesn’t automatically mean it’s being used to generalize. And I didn’t even bring it up at way. I actually do think my caveats matter quite a bit. As for the judge example, like I said there was no situation where what the judge said wasn’t awful. Never once did I agree with her, I simply pointed out more details in the case like the woman being a victim of domestic violence and the judge seemingly offering her more leniency because of empathizing with the source of her alcoholism. As far as the other statistics, such as what is the race of who is committing the crimes, I don’t think it’s racial profiling to say who’s committing what crimes. The statistics are the statistics. I’m the one to get in an uproar about that. But Incase you were wondering, as far as violent crimes go it’s a pretty even distribution of which race is committing. But they’re overwhelmingly male. It’s one of those things in heterosexual dating that just doesn’t have a basis anymore in my opinion. It made more sense when marriage was an economic proposition and gender roles in courting were more clear cut. I see dating back then as sort of a weird grooming ritual. Overall when I talk about my partying years and the wilder things I got up to, people are supportive and don’t judge. However, that is only the case in a friendship type relationship. Now she has to start over when she’s no longer in her prime. I know some women who are very intense about their child bearing years, and do not want their time wasted. I know many who also see it as the worst fate possible to have kids by more than one man. Also, I think in general, cheating on the mother of …
