I am 5'9f engaged to 5'4"m. My mom always told me not to date short guys bc I've always been tall, and I tried for like a month to fight my feelings for this dude, but I obviously failed. He has never been weirded out about the height difference, but he doesn't like when I wear heels. I think you should start dating. Ask Christian women out. A woman can help you grow spiritually the same as you help her grow. Who’s to say she couldn’t help in your ministry? Also, even if you start dating now, you get married in a year, have kids in a year. You may find God calling you to focus primarily on one ministry and spend more time with your family. I’ve found that when God calls me to do something, it rarely is forever, but where I am now in life

I personally think that having your or her grandpa be present at dates is a little extreme. I would talk to her and recommend she go on group dates with friends, such as inviting him to the movies with a group of friends, going to a bible study and grabbing dinner after with some of the people, etc. I know one of my friends who did this, then once she felt more comfortable and knew her boyfriend's values, they agreed to go on dates alone, as long as they were in public.
