It’s not about ease. It’s more about developing a deep bond with your child and knowing what’s going on in your family life. But every family has an arrangement that suits them. Good on you for finding an arrangement that works.

No of course not. Otherwise I’d already be a stay at home dad.

Yeah, picking up the pressure while they recover from child birth is one thing. But willingly choosing to get pregnant doesn’t give a lady a right to unilaterally decide long term child rearing arrangements. Both parents have parental responsibility. Who gave birth doesn’t change that. If you agree to have a kid under certain conditions, that’s what should be followed unless a new arrangement is otherwise agreed.

Although what is and what ought are related, he did say he was neutral on whether this was right/ wrong, natural/ artificial. I dunno. It just seems to me that the point of his post was to dunk on the hypergamy believers than to discredit the hardships of women. Like, every time I mention a privilege that I benefit from because of my race, I don’t necessarily always have to caveat it with “although this is a privilege I also face more serious downsides”. Whether or not it’s appropriate to add th…

What you’re saying about objectification and commodification is correct, but OP is not supporting that the world should be this way. He is giving a description of the world as it is. As you’ve said, objectification and the restraining of women’s autonomy goes hand in hand with “women are the prize” traditional attitudes. This, if anything, supports OP’s description.

If this were the case, it would be women working for the affection of men, but men were the suitors, competing for the woman. Most women didn’t even get a say in who they married until somewhat recently. It was their dad’s that wanted them to be married. The whole reason men ever had the expectation of being the earner, provider or protector in The first place is because the woman has historically been the intrinsically valuable prize to be earned; not the man. Women have been expressing vulnera…

That’s true. All I can say is that Hinge is generally very good at ensuring real people use the app and tinder is generally better than bumble for that. You would have to see what people’s general experience is with bot profiles across dating apps

How is a bot an option? I never said anything about successful relationships. I’m just talking about getting a date man. Getting a relationship is even harder for sure tho.

Surely you’ve seen the similar tinder flowcharts and the comparisons of the Hinge match lists between men and women’s I think probably those are more indicative of the number of how many dates men are getting. Tinder has a sizeable amount of bots but still more of the profiles seem real compared to Hinge. It really depends on the study done, but unless they accounted for verification and discounting bots, this seems quite dubious.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/26 05:37 PM

I’d like to believe that but tbh mate, it doesn’t sound super convincing. Isn’t the whole premise of bumble that women are encouraged to take the initiative of matching and messaging first and whatnot? Doesn’t seem like it would be a good indicator of general dating strategies and markets. Even then, compared to apps like Hinge, from the time I used it, Bumble seems to have way more bots. If I were to be convinced, I would need to see how many of these profiles actually have bios, verification m…

It is a jealousy but it’s also a response to being made to feel redundant I think. Because patriarchal standards haven’t been lifted symmetrically and that process has been sort of staggered.

This would be compelling if the main reason for getting abortions were that women didn’t want to be pregnant. But abortions are normally justified in the fact that people don’t want to raise a kid. And it’s the raising of the child which has a longer term greater impact on autonomy than being pregnant. Autonomy is the main justification for abortion. If a woman is unsure about whether a man wants to get a paper abortion then the reasonable action is the risk averse one I.e. choose to abort.

I mean, sexuality is fluid. Men are in less of a position to explore that side of themselves in modern times, but it’s fair to say that most people can be queer at some point in their lives. Think about it like this. There was tons, and I mean tons of gay sex going on in the Roman Empire, in Greek cities and so on and so forth. The Spartans and the stoics, so really the sorts of people hyper masculine guys would idolise. It’s in modern times that male homosexuality is concealed for fear of being…

Maybe? I dunno, you'd be better off asking the question in a post, but my friends are just the people who happened to be around me. If the relationship went cold, it would fizzle out automatically eventually. If they were real ones, we would be there for each other. That's just my experience. No, but unless someone is going up to you to ask you out, they probably won't say anything about whether you're attractive or not. Saying nothing is not an indication that they want me. Not literally anyone, but my criteria aren't particularly strict for a friendship. Just be warm and friendly and be a generally ethical person. I didn't choose to meet any of my platonic friends. They are just people I happened across in the course of education, work over a hobby etc. If I only dated women I knew found me attractive, I would be dating exactly 0 women. For me to know that before I started dating them, they would have to first tell me that they found me so before I asked them out.…

Knowledge of compatibility criteria comes with general dating experience. Assessing whether a woman fits the criteria comes with specific dating experience. To get a date in the first place in the hetero ecosystem with somebody who is not already attracted to you, you have to pander to them, Same as getting a job. The jobs don’t come to you. You pander to the job, because they are the ones who have the options and the choice. You compete with others for the job, so you pander. To keep the analog…

Doubt he was happy in the end and he’s a clown for how he acted. I’m just pointing out that “why would virgin abuse a woman when that is who they’ve been longing for?” is not a take that’s grounded in reality.abusers seem like nice people and manipulate you. Fair enough. But it’s one thing to say a group of people with an opinion exist, and another thing to say that anybody who questions irresponsible decision making is advocating for abuse. OP still makes out like anybody who holds that position is implicitly supportive of abuse. That’s just not the case if that’s not what they’ve said. Implying that in all cases is putting words in people’s mouths

You’ve surely heard of Elliot Rodger. The incel that ended up becoming a mass murderer because he didn’t get any women? Fact is losers can be bad people too. Often times they have remained virgins because they obsess over women and that obsession is what drives them to violence. Most abusers don’t look like Chad or Tyrone. They look like ordinary “husband material”. You’re barking up the wrong tree

Not even the looniest red pill comment on here has implied that women deserve to be abused because that poster believes women make irresponsible choices. They want women to pick them, and point to what they perceive as hypocrisy as an appeal to women to pick them. They’re wrong about that of course, but the post makes it seem like all of these people would be wife beaters. And I’ve also never seen anybody on this sub get called a simp for advocating against domestic abuse.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/05/26 05:16 PM
1

Is this even a red pill take? I think it should be clear that: Making choices that will prevent you from finding somebody who is good for you is not the same as being responsible for abuse and violence perpetrated against you. The fact that you should be nice to people in general does not mean you should pander to a specific gender or sex in the hopes of sleeping with them. Your post relies on ignoring the difference.

Labia size doesn’t make a massive difference. I guess smaller is less fiddling about to get straight to business but bigger might lend itself to more slow exploratory foreplay? Seems like a negligible difference from my perspective. It basically tastes like cum to me. Even though I get a lot of validation from men, still I seek out validation from women more. That being said, dating men has made me want validation from women less than before. And dating women has had the same effect. Once you get that women aren’t that different from you and aren’t beings on a higher plane of existence, the allure becomes less alluring. But there’s always a cultural factor in the way I was raised pushing that narrative of chasing the prize. I agree with what another said that…

Being uncomfortable about appearing gay; not being uncomfortable about people making respectful advances. If you say so. But why have casual sex if you didn’t want to attention from different people? You could just get your own rocks off. Doesn’t make sense to me.

Well, the key assumption being made is that beauty is quantifiable in the same way a career or intelligence is. Sexual desirability is pretty fickle in comparison, so if you want a general dating plan, it’s better to focus on women who already think you’re hot than to improve other aspects of your life purely in the hopes of attracting somebody. It’s no use saying: “I should compensate for my lack of beauty to be successful at general dating” because the bi woman you meet at the queer event is p…

It’s not your job to open his mind if it hasn’t already been opened, but most men just haven’t been touched like that, so the opportunity is there if you really want it with any given guy. But I’m not understanding what filtering for pregnancy risk has to do with a desirability deficit. If anything, this suggests something alternative to OP. That the deficit is not due to inherent sexual attraction between genders, but because of the complications of pregnancy.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/26 08:07 AM
1

Depends what the alternative is. They can use mouths, butts, hands, thighs, chests, toys. Hell, even a massage would do something. The whole body has a range of erogenous zones. Straight men just aren’t used to anything other than regular PIV sex. Show him what you like, explore with each other. If you want that and he doesn’t want to do that, probs a sign you and him aren’t sexually compatible. If you really cannot afford to get pregnant because maybe you don’t have access to contraception or h…

Bi and pan women do have to worry about it. Even they aren’t as rigid in their attraction. If you live in an area where contraception is available and abortion is available, this also addresses the risk of an unwanted pregnancy. If you agree not to have PIV intercourse, this also addresses the risk of pregnancy. There are so many ways to address pregnancy risks.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/26 07:36 AM

That would require straight men to be comfortable enough in their sexuality to be exposed to queer spaces. I.e. a miracle. You don’t have to be a slut to want to be attractive to a general population. Women even dress the way they do to impress other women despite being straight. It’s about being socially validated. In your case, you certainly wanted to be acknowledged by more than one partner. So what you said about only wanting to be attractive to one person in the end isn’t necessarily true f…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/26 06:57 AM

Yeah, but what makes you sexually desirable is subjective to the beholder. If I’m just dating generally, it’s useless for me to say: “this person only likes me this much. Therefore I should be compensating with x salary or y hobbies”. You should be improving yourself and enriching your life because it makes you a better person. Not because some lady might find you attractive enough afterwards. Additionally, you should not expect to get a partner. But as I said, that’s fine. You should not need a…

I dunno man. Queer women, nb’s and men don’t seem to fall over this hurdle of needing their male partners to compensate for a perceived lack of attraction. You are presenting desirability as something you have a monopoly on, and you are reducing it down to traditional gender roles as if that’s somehow essential or natural in all cases. If that’s what you want for yourself that’s fine and if you don’t find men very attractive that’s fine. But there’s a whole ecosystem out there of people who have…

Right, but you are acknowledging it is a perspective issue. OP and these comments are portraying it as a biological or otherwise gender essentialist issue. I’m saying men can and should move away from a patriarchal view of traditional gender roles. This includes moving away from the attitude that they are required to compensate for a perceived lack of desirability. And if they do that, it doesn’t mean they necessarily have to be single all their life. Even right now, they can date bi, pan or tra…

Exactly, except this horse is a much bigger commitment. If you aren’t getting something that is fundamentally important for your investment, don’t invest. It’s rational to be risk averse.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/26 11:34 PM
4

Except it’s not 100% nature is it? The fact that bi or pan women don’t fall over this hurdle like straight women do, shows that, to an extent, people just don’t want to shift their perspective on gender roles. Never had this be an issue for partners who are queer women. Nor queer men or gender fluid people.

I have been. And it’s gotten me relationships with men, queer women and gender fluid folks where this deficit in desire is a non-factor. As I said though, This is a sub where most of the discussion and advice is about straight dating. Most of the people complaining here are straight. I’m just saying it sucks for them a bit more. Ofc an excess of desire is harassment. Breaches of privacy and dignity are not essential to being desired. I’m sure most of the guys here aren’t cat calling and stalking…

Nobody needs to expect it. It probably won’t happen. That’s just what they want to be fulfilled, should they get not a relationship. So in all likelihood, they won’t end up in one. And if that happens, it’s fine. Better than being in a relationship where you’re not getting something you feel you need. The notion that women only seek to desire one man just does not line up with reality, as if they’re all looking for a long-term monogomous relationships. All I can say is what I’ve seen, and from w…

I don’t think anything controversial has been said here? Men want to be desired sexually the way women are. That’s a thing that is valuable to them. If a woman does not provide that desire, men will find that this woman is not providing as much value as somebody who does desire them. People know that women are seen as more sexually desirable. That’s what people want to change by complaining. That’s why values are shifting and people are trying to get each other to perceive men, women and gender …

By that logic, bi people in straight relationships might not be queer. What about single or celibate people who otherwise lead heteronormative looking lives. To say that these people aren’t queer definitely goes against the conventional use of the term.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/26 05:27 PM

If you’re a man and you like men, you’re not straight. Just because they reject queer culture doesn’t prevent them from being queer.

I mean, the fact that you have watched it in and of itself doesn’t mean you are into it. But I’d say if you get off to it regularly that’s a sign. In any event, sexuality is fluid to some extent so maybe irl they don’t like men at all, but who knows
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/26 07:20 AM

I think it’s clear that there are many more queer men than polls or official stats show. Even in queer culture there are many DL men, guys who will show to hook ups in masks. So out there, there are going to be a non-trivial number of guys who are queer but who won’t admit it. There’s also the matter of people who haven’t had an opportunity to explore their sexuality and those who are curious. But yes. If you’re into femboys and you’re a man, that’s definitely gay.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/26 06:49 AM

Yes this is also a problem. Which is why men have to be independent without the expectation that they’ll find a woman for companionship. Vote with your wallet and let women know when they’re being hypocritical about double standards. Too many guys just go into dates willing to treat it like a job interview when relationships are meant to be mutual

I don’t know whether you’re a guy or a woman, but as a dude it aligns with my personal experience of what people expect. It explained why you have traditions like a guy paying for the first date and picking the lady up while the lady dresses extravagantly and whatnot. Your first point is in agreement I think. Women are presented as the prize. Just something you get in life for doing well. Same as a degree or a good job. That’s why patriarchal models have the man in the active role and the woman in the passive. Hero gets the girl and all. It’s that attitude, that women are the prize, basically inherently desirable, and that men are not intrinsically desirable without external work, that explains the gap in desirability that you are pointing out. As for your se…

The hero gets the girl kind of mentality. Having a good degree and a good education and a good salary and earning a lot does not entitle any man to sex. Women aren’t a thing to be earned like a prize. When guys see women as the prize and they think they earned them, then they feel entitled. When they get rejected, they lash out.

Tbh mate, you’ve probably struck it on the head right there with your language. “Unselected” like it’s a job interview with a unilateral decision instead of a mutual partnership. Lot of guys want to be desired as much as they desire women. They see the feminist push for parity and think that it’s hypocritical to try and change patriarchal attitudes where it hinders women, but not where it gives them a privilege. The advice is great if you want to find people who are compatible. Not sure how it addresses the we live in a society complaint though, unless you’re claiming that following this advice will allow men to attract as many of the preferred sex as physically attractive men or women can, which isn’t true. Why should employers change when its employees who are complaining about finding a job? Simple, employers are the ones who ultimately choose who to employ. If it were an even relationship, then more could be done, but that’s not reality. Employees can do something but it’s pretty much amounting to just disengaging with the job market completely, which isn’t a short term solution.

I wouldn’t say it’s hoops set by women, it’s just the competition for them that causes these hoops. But honestly, if you’re just in it for an orgasm. Just fuck a guy. They do just as good a job. Now, passionate intimacy or companionship, you do want chemistry for, and that will take searching for a needle in a haystack, regardless of hoops or whether you’re looking for men or women. Just don’t pursue it obsessively and take opportunities where they present themselves.

That’s only true if, for example you’re renting from somebody. The law will imply clauses into your agreement to prevent the exploitation of tenants by relatively powerful landlords. Key word here being agreement. There’s a contract in place. I am not just some random guest showing up unannounced. REGARDING POINT 1. Well, that’s assuming it was willing. By talking about what’s willing or not we are now going back to choice and assuming responsibility which goes back to general autonomy rather than bodily autonomy, but let’s explore this more. Does the fact that you have left the window open as you sleep mean that you are willing to have somebody trespass overnight? I should think not. You took the risk, but th…

To an extent you have a point. I agree that general autonomy and choice about how we live our lives, commit to our futures, and assume responsibility should be what primarily justifies abortion. And in that case it should allow for paper/financial abortions in favour of dads. However, common arguments for abortion often use bodily autonomy. Not general autonomy. The title seems reasonable enough, but the application of it seems a bit scuffed. For example, when women didn’t have the vote, it was extremely unlikely that their protests were going to result in the granting of their civil rights. Gender equality was a fantasy. Men who aren't themselves promiscuous don't like promiscuous people. Reeks of jealousy to me. Sexually speaking, men are turned on by that sort of behaviour, but because they tend not to be able to achieve it themselves, they are insecure. Are they parasites? You can believe what you want, but the idea that a baby just develops humanity is not convincing. Generally, our freedoms are limited when we start taking the freedoms of others. Abortion is an exceptional case, that should allow for autonomy to prevail over a human life because raising a chi…

That’s the point of my comment though? There is no difference between a zygote and a viable baby in the womb that would point to one being human and the other being less than a human. It is not as if a viable baby will just raise itself. Just like a zygote, it needs help. It does not have the capacity to care for itself. Yet a developed enough baby is still protected. The only reason viability matters is because it justifies killing in spite of a human life being taken. Viable babies can be remo…

Well, that depends entirely on whether you accept that it would be okay to kill a fully realised human being for your bodily autonomy. If yes, then you would be correct.

You’re almost there, but the viability of a baby outside the womb does not determine whether it’s a human life or a potential life. Let’s put it this way, the exact point of viability is always changing with technology. But that doesn’t mean that a baby that would have been unviable a year ago would not have been a valuable human life a year ago. Viability does not show that a developed foetus is any more a human being than a fresh zygote. Even newborn babies require assistance to survive. They …

If you ask me, those should not separate points. Autonomy is how you commit to a decision. Your autonomy is crucial when, say, signing a contract to pay for this or that. That’s the basis of your responsibilities and duties. Notably, the requirements to be autonomous involve having the capacity to make a decision, a number of adequate decisions to choose from and independence. Now when you commit to having a baby that’s a big responsibility. You are liable for that baby’s wellbeing and any thing…

Meh. It’s not really a thing you worry about when the only non-generic attention you receive for your looks is your mother calling you handsome every few years. If you get hit on or if you have friends that tell you these things, you have greater incentive to want to retain a high standard. It’s part of your perceived value. But if your perceived value is based on the money you earn or how much you can provide, then not much incentive. And if you have a lot of willpower, then you may be inclined…

Eh, I mean I agree I guess. Red pill views do not align with freedom of sexuality very well. But are you claiming that they’re incorrect for calling out discriminatory behaviour? I can agree when someone calls out another person’s irrational disgust, and then criticise the same person when they start saying stupid things.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/26 06:59 PM
2

Yes, I agree, I’m pretty sure it is biphobia. However, many people will not admit to being biphobic because it paints them out to be somebody who is not a good person, should be ostracised or whatever. I think there needs to be some destigmatisation and some distinction between actively depriving people of civil rights based on an immutable characteristic and just not liking them. Until that happens, people will never admit their biphobia, and unless they admit it, they will never learn from it.

If I ask, “why do you have that preference?”, and they were to say, bi men are feminine, or bi men are unclean, or bi men are just gay men in denial, or bi men will cheat on you, or bi men are sexually deviant, or bi men are sexually aggressive, then it would be biohobic. Because they would be discriminating based on a fake and pejorative stereotype. I guess it’s possible to not date bi men and not be biohobic, but people have gotta be a bit more introspective rather than say…

Dating around but no relationship and happily single. Not red pill. Probably black pill. What the red pill is suggesting is ass as a solution, but the fact is that there are stereotypes, double standards and asymmetries that make it seem like red pill is correct. And to deny that is to bury your head in the sand like an ostrich.

If you have friends who are guys and gals on dating apps, compare their profiles and the number of matches, likes etc. you’ll see what people mean. The loneliness epidemic is a very inflammatory phrase and it’s a bit overblown but the attention women get compared to men is definitely not the same. Guys could pay for sex I guess but what they actually want is the attention and to be competed for etc.

Kind of. On this sub, I agree, but on other subs, led more by women, they reject the very premise that they were centred in the first place, stating instead that they were objectified. Of course, those two things are just two sides of the same coin, and until men stop placing women in a pedestal, they will continue to both be objectified and disregarded whilst also objectifying women. But that’s what they’re angry about.

I agree mostly. But saying it’s patriarchy doesn’t mean it’s exclusively men’s fault and certainly not exclusively current men. Also I think straight men are more open to yearning unhealthily after women and tolerating BS simply because they don’t have the option of going for a man. And also, while this is a way that some women express their homophobia and sexism, it’s also not exclusive to them. But yes, not being over obsessed with women doesn’t mean you’re gay.

Yes. You’re right. In the same way men are entitled to only want unattainable women with stick figure torsos, a perfect face w/o makeup, G cup breasts and a wide backside who will also be a sugar mommy, the bread winner and have primary childcare duties. Doesn’t stop that desire or the underlying stereotypes/values from being harmful. Also doesn’t stop people from criticising what you value.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/25 08:26 PM

What you said doesn’t exclude the fact that men would get more attention if they had better social skills. You can believe in the statement and reconcile that with your example if you believe that the standards are different for men and women. Being an introvert as a straight man is ofc going to affect their status. Nobody’s going to approach them. Being an introvert as a woman is not a conparable experience

I’m not a creep? I’ll stick to environments where people are there explicitly for dates like dating apps or approaching men in gay bars. It may be acceptable for you, but it may not be for others. Why would I bother someone who is probably minding their own business? It’s different if you already know them, but if you’re cold approaching, you don’t know what they’re like, and your reason for approaching them is a shallow one. It’s painfully obvious your reason is a shallow one too. No thanks.

It’s not like the two are mutually exclusive. But certainly, the main reason for allowing abortion historically has been privacy and autonomy. In the same way you can evict a trespasser from your property, you can evict a baby from your body. You are not obliged to use your property or your body like a Good Samaritan, helping those who need it (the baby). Your privacy allows you to terminate. Now, there are certain problems if you use only bodily autonomy as a justification. Eg, it’s one thing n…

You yourself have pointed out how a paper abortion and a physical abortion are different. The reason you don’t get to see your child after a physical abortion isn’t because there’s some fundamental rule that parents who abdicate responsibility cannot ever see their kids. It’s because the child isn’t alive. Now there’s a policy argument to say that men will abandon their responsibilities. In that case, you can dish out restraining orders, mother’s with enough resources could make applications to …

That’s not really how family law works. You absolutely can have it both ways. For example if parents of a divorced child move, it’s of course great for the child to not be broken apart into two homes far away from each other. It depends. I don’t think it necessarily follows that a restraining order would be the baseline remedy. In fact, there is jurisprudence to say that it can be in the child’s best interests to at least know their bio father. At the end of the day, what you’re signing away is your right to make decisions in the child’s behalf and the rights you might ordinarily get for being a parent. That much at least should be the case always. A restraining order should be given on a case by case basis on ground…

The neat thing about human beings is that we are autonomous and we each have our own conception of good that we pursue, whether that’s self interest, world peace blah blah. Or at least, we are as autonomous as anything can be so far in the world’s history. This autonomy is valuable and so we protect it with rights. With autonomy and rights come responsibility. /r/PurplePillDebate09/10/25 06:13 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/25 06:47 AM

There’s a very big overlap. People don’t cry and vent about problems they have the solutions to. They vent about the problems they struggle with. The whole point of emotional support is to help the recipient regulate themselves to solve their problems. The idea that men are the problem solvers relies on your belief that they shouldn’t be emotional. The two ideas are inextricably tied. There’s an appropriate time to be stoic and an appropriate time to be vulnerable.

Yes. Sometimes they just prefer women, which is fine as long as it’s just a preference not couched in stereotypes. Other times it is internalised homophobia. It’s why you have a lot of guys in the “down-low” about their sexuality. Women are generally seen as more sexually desirable and this applies to queer people’s preferences. That often leads to a preference in queer men and women. I think it’s rooted in a harmful stereotype but that’s my opinion. Some guys like what’s between their legs, but…

I didn’t use the career analogy to make a comparison to the wage gap per se. Just that it evokes the same feelings. You NEED a well paying job after you get all your education. You NEED a woman in your life to be a well adjusted grown man. But you really don’t for the latter statement. In the same way “I don’t need a man” is genuinely an enriching thing to say, if men could say “I don’t need a woman” confidently”, they’d have much more self esteem, confidence and happiness.

As a bisexual man who also believes we should sexualise men more, the problem imo is not really that it hasn’t occurred to people to sexualise men. The problem is that people don’t understand how to do so. People think having a man shirtless is automatically what sexualises them, but they’re not women. The same rules don’t apply for the obvious reason that sexual characteristics are different. And clothing brands don’t play into sexualisation for men like they do with women. I mean, just look at…

By women, it’s once in a blue moon, but apart from one occasion, I almost always approach first By men, it’s a lot more often. In-person I don’t get approached much really (maybe would be a different story if I frequented queer spaces) but online, my profile gets more attention from men for sure.

I don’t think that’s quite the same thing. Men are much easier to have sex with. That’s a question of supply. But the attraction people have to women is a question of demand. You might even argue that the supply is so low because the demand is so high. I think the demand is a pretty direct indication of perceived value.

I don’t think that’s true. I know people who wish they were into women rather than men because “women are beautiful”. Likewise many bi and pan sexual people prefer women. And when it comes to outward attractiveness, I’m that way too, even though like both women and men.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/25 04:40 PM

I understand that it’s philosophy at this point, but value is determined, or at least indicated by desire. At least, the way that we value things and people.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/25 03:18 PM

I notice strangers in well dressed or revealing outfits, guy or girl. But I’m not like going into heat over it. I’d probably be more into them if they were giving me attention, but what they’re wearing doesn’t factor into that aspect of attraction.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/25 11:33 PM

If complexity matters, then why are other complex issues like the ones I mentioned not also regulated? Point of what I’m saying is that it’s not grooming to present a complex issue to a child. Grooming would involve railroading kids away from other points of view towards the point of view you impose on them. Showing a symbol isn’t doing that. Also, why can’t you just say to a kid, for all intents and purposes this group of people are viewed as women or men? Why would a kid need to know about bra…

Yes. I never said it would be exclusively negative for corps Releasing restrictions, regulations and policies is going to have a positive effect on big corporations in the short term because they can do whatever they want and existing customers will still retain them. But it should also be obvious that growth requires increasing rates of customer engagement. And accommodating for that requires a growing base of employees. If you had read the comment, you would have known that I said DEI rollback…
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 03:41 PM

Im a bit skeptical about that. Is it complex? Kids are old enough to understand that (in many cases) their mother likes their father. How is that any different from depicting a queer relationship or symbol? The only difference is that it’s heterosexual. Should we ban the sale of crosses because kids aren’t well versed theologians? Should we ban the sale of books about humanism because children would otherwise be groomed into that path? Should pharmacies and clinics stop selling condoms because c…

I’m not surprised that Walmart is growing more than competitors, but my understanding (and correct me if I’m wrong) is that their projected growth this year is set to be a few percent less than their growth last year, going from something like 5.5 % to 3%, which is pretty massive I reckon. Also I’m not familiar with the merchandise you’re talking about. What kind of merchandise and how did it amount to grooming? Not trying to attack, but genuine question as I’m not familiar.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 02:45 PM

I’m not sure about that. Consumers have made it very clear that trashing DEI policies is not in the interests of customers, employees or anyone except those big corporations. Now those corporations are paying for it. If anything, it just seems like “woke” is going to come back stronger once Trump stops trying to silence people.

Casual sex can be “being used”. Not necessarily, but the more people someone sleeps with, the harder it is to act ethically towards the people you sleep with, hence the risk of using people or being used increases. If you have romantic sex there is less of a risk of being used or using your partner. If you have sex with somebody consensually AND you take responsibility for the risks and potential harms that you may put upon them by having sex with them, approaching sex in good faith with a view …

You don’t need any women or men unless you want to start a family. Even if you want to do that, you may not necessarily need a romantic partner. You go out and court the number of people you want to because you have the physical or emotional time and space to do so responsibly. Otherwise, you get with fewer people or you don’t get with anybody at all.

They’re hypocritical, but if they are campaigning for a thing that is good, I.e. not body shaming, then telling them to shut up is not a good response. Just call out hypocrisy where it lies. It’s not illegal to be a hypocrite. And silencing genuine issues is not the way forward.

If a man has invested so much into the marriage that the transition will be harder for them then this may affect the amount of allimony paid. Yes we have no disagreement substantively. I was just bringing up the language point that your definition of transactional is just as much an association as the negative one other people give it. Which is why definitions should always be established when discussing.

It is semantics ultimately. The definition of something depends on its use. But our agreed use of the word is different from our actual use of it.

Yes but I’m pretty sure what people mean is that the purpose of the transaction should be mutual benefit, rather than the mutual benefit of a transaction being only incidental to your primary goal of self benefit. You’re correct in that it’s conditional, but when people say transactional they tend to mean it’s in a selfish individualism way.

Ultimately it restricts everyone’s ability to get with multiple people, but if it raises a male voter’s body count from 0 to 1 they’re going to see it as a win. Will it do that? Probably not. But typically people who vote that way also want to punish outside groups for having more. Yeah we never think people would ever vote against their own interests until it happens.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/25 11:14 AM

Reproductive rights being stripped lowers your ability to date around. There are talks about women being unsuitable for voting. Substantively, what you’re saying is true in terms of responsibility. It’s a free market and you vote with your participation. Although market changes happen much more slowly, maybe over a generation or so, so the incentive is less straightforward. It’s easy for me to be assertive with men. People rarely are, so they tend to be receptive to it. But I think the movement is having some growing pains culturally right now, because power comes with responsibilities and accountability. I think many men feel that women have their cake and eat it too. They have such and such rights, but still get treated as the “fairer sex” Imo things have been getting better, but I’m not getting any younger, so if feminism is to benefit men by distributing respons…

No amount of experience is gonna make two contradictory statements suddenly make sense, but getting more experience was the plan anyways, whether I like it or not.

So do happy people not cheat or does being content drive women to cheat? You’re contradicting yourself here. To be content is to be happy. If you are settling then you are not happy. It sounds like you think that the only group of people who don’t cheat is straight men 🤷🏽‍♂️

If they were content with their relationship, they would not need anything outside of it. Living a peaceful and ordinary life and genuinely being fulfilled are entirely different things, even though they are not mutually exclusive.

Well historically speaking, that tends to happen when your sexuality is repressed by others. That’s why people came up with that myth decades ago. Bisexual people aren’t cheaters. People in unhappy relationships are cheaters.

Yeah but it’s a cyclical issue. Men are DL because they’re not accepted. They’re not accepted because they’re DL. For better or worse, women are more desired, so as a result their queer relationships are also more desired, even to the point of being fetishised. So women are seen as more sexual (this can be both empowering and objectifying) and their bisexuality is almost even taken for granted by some people. Whereas the idea of a guy having intimacy with another man seems taboo

You’re right in that this is the reason people sometimes give. But if they are also bi, then they either know that this is a false stereotype, or they are at peace with that lifestyle so either way there’s still mental gymnastics being done. I can only talk from my perspective, but from the women who genuinely rejected me for my bisexuality, it really just seemed that they had this idea that masculinity was about asceticism and being repressed and regressive, whereas femininity was progressive a…

Only weird one I’ve encountered personally is not wanting to date bi people when the person themselves is bi.

I think the implication. Is that it’s a good thing because it means both men and women aren’t just complying with the current dating scenes and standards

I mean an ideology doesn’t mean people have uniform beliefs. So different red pill people can have different ones. But there’s gotta be some core belief that ties them together. If blue pill is the inverse of that, then they have to have a core belief that directly opposes red pill. That’s what makes sense to me anyways

I would never say that fathers should have a veto or an equal right to terminate a pregnancy but the fact is that the main justification for abortion relies on the fact that a parent has to raise their kid for 18 years. That applies to both parents. Mothers have to deal with pregnancy and health risks for 9 months and more, so they will always have the final say, but if you don’t consider the effect of the next 18 years, pro choice arguments would not be nearly as compelling.

Why is the decision making process different for fathers if fathers also raise kids? The whole point of abortion is to promote autonomy I.e. allow people to make decisions about their long term and private life. This seems like a long term and private decision to me.

This neglects the part where she said his life is involved. If the default position is that fathers take legal responsibility, then it should be expected that they are somehow considered in the decision making process. That doesn’t mean it should be a legal requirement to get the father’s consent. Bodily autonomy and the pregnant person’s own life plans are key. But I don’t think it’s controversial to say that not consulting the father, under normal circumstances, is just a douchebag move.

Yeah the key point being that “in a way that doesn’t burden anyone” is assuming, not just a pro choice outlook, but also an opinion that zygotes and foetuses don’t have any value. Even if you are pro choice, as I am, somebody’s negative choices today will have consequences on the adults of tomorrow. That’s why being an adult comes with so much responsibility.

I don’t think that’s the assumption under which men are dropping out. You should drop out because the energy, passion and enthusiasm that you put into it is not reciprocated, and it is better spent on pursuits other than dating women. As you said they may be apathetic, but there are other things in life outside of dating. Your friends, your family, your career, your hobbies. Stuff that genuinely enriches you, where your effort is reciprocated, unlike with dating. The sentiment, I think, is that …

Im not sure why it’s implied it even needs to be static all the time in the question. Yes decisions need to be made, and disagreements about decisions need to give way to action, but any healthy relationship, romantic or otherwise should use mechanisms to resolve disputes. Who is affected the most by a decision? Who has the most to lose? How many decisions has one party had a say in that the other party has conceded to? Which decision is less risky? What is the effect on the children? Who will t…

Ultimately, yes it is sexist, but if you get something for free, YOU are the product. If you play into it, and consent to it knowing that you’re the one being exploited, then that should be fine, but strictly speaking it is discrimination and there probably should be more clarity about the regulations on this.

I think guys are just mad because they think that the minimum standard for desirable is much harder to achieve for men than women. They see the discrepancies in the engagement with average looking men and average looking women and they see how skewed the ratios are. I don’t think it’s that simple but it’s easy to see how men get the idea that women are praised for just existing based on their time with dating apps. In my opinion, what you said in the original comment rings best. Staying single i…
