At a base level, I understand what you are saying, but I don’t know if it’s really true. I can’t believe that the sentiment exists within the Democratic Party like that. I’m surprised at that. No doubt it exists in the Republican Party as such. I know a few of my friends were classic liberals and were disappointed in their candidates the last two (2016 & 2020) elections, specifically with Hillary political past (I think Bill both hurt and helped her, but not universally across the board) positio…

I guess my take is, her opponent is such a flawed shit show, a solid candidate of any quality (maybe my thinking there is flawed) regardless of gender would be a slam dunk. Particularly given fact that the number of registered voters is dominated by the Democrats. Democrats hold significant advantages in numbers in voters under the age of 50 (Pew Research Center.) Add to this the number of GOP voters declines everyday as they age out and dying at a rate of 4 per minute since 2016. Unless you’re …

No, not in the least. We don’t even have to talk about the other candidate she’s running against. My point is - Why would a candidate who didn’t win a primary the first time around, and not even up for a vote the second be made a candidate? You can’t tell me there’s not a better woman in the Democratic Party for president. Hell, even Hillary got (enough) primary votes otherwise she would not have been the nominee in 2016. Don’t complain about glass ceiling so when those facts exist. -Edited for …

Being held to a higher standard? Kamala didn’t get a single primary vote in 2020, including in her own state of California. Let’s not trip over gender when quality of candidate should be first and foremost. Otherwise we’re deluding ourselves.

Ha, “Yeah, I tried re-wiring her, tried re-firing her I think her engine is permanently stalled…”

Apparently, some guys don’t understand the complexity of either cars or women. And I guess I put myself in that category. While I can fix a car, sadly I can’t fix a woman.

This is tough one, as all professions have good/bad, competent/incompetent, biased/unbiased, etc. among its population. Was your wife led to a decision by the therapist, distilling down and clarifying what your wife truly wanted to do, but did not have the confidence to do on her own? Through a few sessions of questions and presenting different points of view, an ethical, professional therapist could have helped her arrive at that decision. You may never know. My situation is a little bit differ…

Nothing preserves first generation wealth (or limits second generation wealth, lol!) than the old snip-snip!

Well said! Have suspected much of this in my situation. Am starting to call out the obvious in sessions, and it’s curious to see/hear the reactions/responses.

Pre-marital counseling sounds like it may not be a bad idea to identify any potentially weighty baggage that might be detrimental to a marriage on either side.

Thanks RS…. Was this a cheating situation (many of these seem to be flags for cheating as well) or just the things you missed of her preparing for a divorce or life afterwards?

Care to add any hints you missed? Just started counseling and this might change my focus.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
