It's called "living apart together." If you search that term, it'll pull up some articles about what you describe. But I have a similar view as you but with one big caveat. Nen have to research the laws in their state to ensure that even this type of relationship if continued long-term, won't put them on the hook for any type of compensation if the woman gets vindictive. This article appeared a few years back and was circulated among guys trying to warn of the crazy legal system. A couple had no…

Your uncle sounds like he had a similar life trajectory of Colonel Sanders. Sanders struggled and succeeded and then desperately struggled again several times over his life, and similar to your uncle, was able to do it even after his 60s when he finally had a better stretch of events. I'm actually curious what your uncle's businesses were lol given that he was able to bounce back successfully so many times. But agreed with the rest of your post, as well as the admonishment that the OP is only in…

Have you had a heart to heart one to one discussion about this with your daughter? She hears you out, you hear her out, without all these other people around? I'm not defending the ex-wife and sisters' actions. It sounds very manipulative and destructive. I wonder if she is basically lashing out at you because she feels: 1. She is losing her place in your life compared to your current GF. So she is in a way trying to sabotage that relationship because she thinks she is losing your focus in your …

Sorry to hear about the deception. I hope you're able to resolve everything for yourself and your kid in the best way. Just wondering, did you sense that something wasn't right from the beginning when she first told you she was pregnant? Or did it take a few years.

Thanks to all the men sharing their wisdom. I'm an unmarried guy who likes to learn from people who went through the real circumstances that aren't going to be talked about.

Your comment goes over one of my biggest concerns of marriage, as a single man. People changing in unpredictable ways over the years. I think I've been pretty grounded my whole life, and then I see stories of men getting married where it seems like the woman suddenly changed a few years in. And it's a big obstacle to me thinking positively of marriage. I know I will stay solid, as I always have, but what about this other person? Do you think there's a way for men to evaluate strong character/low…

I can see if there's something about someone's character at a fundamental level, that probably won't change in the future. Also the lack of concern of one's potential personal injury is also something that'd bother me a lot. Anyway thanks for sharing and hopefully things turn around for you soon.

Sounds really tough. I hope you get through it soon and create a better new chapter for you and your son. Were there any red flags you recognize in hindsight while you two were still dating/not yet married? Sorry if you mentioned it in a previous post here. I'm new to the sub.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
